K±matoti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± jetavane viharanto anitthigandhakum±ra½ n±ma ±rabbha kathesi.
So kira brahmalok± cutasatto s±vatthiya½ mah±bhogakule nibbatto j±tadivasato paµµh±ya itthisam²pa½ upagantu½ na icchati, itthiy± gayham±no rodati. Vatthacumbaµakena na½ gahetv± thañña½ p±yenti. So vayappatto m±t±pit³hi, “t±ta, ±v±ha½ te kariss±m±”ti vutte “na me itthiy± attho”ti paµikkhipitv± punappuna½ y±ciyam±no pañcasate suvaººak±re pakkos±petv± rattasuvaººanikkhasahassa½ d±petv± ativiya p±s±dika½ ghanakoµµima½ itthir³pa½ k±retv± puna m±t±pit³hi, “t±ta, tayi ±v±ha½ akaronte kulava½so na patiµµhahissati, kum±rika½ te ±ness±m±”ti vutte “tena hi sace me evar³pa½ kum±rika½ ±nessatha, kariss±mi vo vacanan”ti ta½ suvaººar³paka½ dasseti. Athassa m±t±pitaro abhiññ±te br±hmaºe pakkos±petv± “amh±ka½ putto mah±puñño, avassa½ imin± saddhi½ katapuññ± kum±rik± bhavissati, gacchatha ima½ suvaººar³paka½ gahetv± evar³pa½ kum±rika½ ±harath±”ti pahiºi½su. Te br±hmaºehi saddhi½ katapaµisammodan± dh²tara½ ot±retv± heµµh±p±s±de suvaººar³pakassa santike µhapesu½. Suvaººar³paka½ nippabha½ ahosi, kum±rik± sappabh± ahosi. Br±hmaº± ta½ tesa½ datv± kum±rika½ paµicch±petv± gantv± anitthigandhakum±rassa m±t±pit³na½ ±rocayi½su. Te tuµµham±nas± “gacchatha, na½ s²gha½ ±neth±”ti mahantena sakk±rena pahiºi½su.
Kum±ropi ta½ pavatti½ sutv± “kañcanar³patopi kira abhir³patar± d±rik± atth²”ti savanavaseneva sineha½ upp±detv± “s²gha½ ±nent³”ti ±ha. S±pi kho y±na½ ±ropetv± ±n²yam±n± atisukhum±lat±ya y±nuggh±tena samupp±ditav±tarog± antar±maggeyeva k±lamak±si. Kum±ropi “±gat±”ti nirantara½ pucchati, tassa atisinehena pucchantassa sahas±va an±rocetv± katip±ha½ vikkhepa½ katv± tamattha½ ±rocayi½su. So “tath±r³p±ya n±ma itthiy± saddhi½ sam±gama½ n±latthan”ti uppannadomanasso pabbatena viya sokadukkhena ajjhotthaµo ahosi. Satth± tass³panissaya½ disv± piº¹±ya caranto ta½ gehadv±ra½ agam±si. Athassa m±t±pitaro satth±ra½ antogeha½ pavesetv± sakkacca½ parivisi½su. Satth± bhattakicc±vas±ne “kaha½ anitthigandhakum±ro”ti pucchi. “Eso, bhante, ±h±r³paccheda½ katv± antogabbhe nisinno”ti. “Pakkosatha nan”ti. So ±gantv± satth±ra½ vanditv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Satth± “ki½ nu kho, kum±ra, balavasoko uppanno”ti vutte, “±ma, bhante, ‘evar³p± n±ma itth² antar±magge k±lakat±’ti sutv± balavasoko uppanno, bhattampi me nacch±det²”ti. Atha na½ satth± “j±n±si pana tva½, kum±ra, ki½ te niss±ya soko uppanno”ti? “Na j±n±mi, bhante”ti. “K±ma½ niss±ya, kum±ra, balavasoko uppanno, soko v± bhaya½ v± k±ma½ niss±ya uppajjat²”ti vatv± ima½ g±tham±ha–

k±mato vippamuttassa, natthi soko kuto bhayan”ti.
