S± tass± sar²ranikkhepa½ k±retv± soka½ sandh±retu½ asakkont² dukkhin² dumman± satthu santika½ gantv± vanditv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Atha na½ satth± “ki½ nu kho tva½, vis±khe, dukkhin² dumman± assumukh± rodam±n± nisinn±”ti ±ha. S± tamattha½ ±rocetv± “piy± me, bhante, s± kum±rik± vattasampann±, id±ni tath±r³pa½ na pass±m²”ti ±ha. “Kittak± pana, vis±khe, s±vatthiya½ manuss±”ti? “Bhante, tumhehiyeva me kathita½ satta janakoµiyo”ti. “Sace pan±ya½ ettako jano tava natt±ya sadiso bhaveyya, iccheyy±si nan”ti? “¾ma, bhante”ti. “Kati pana jan± s±vatthiya½ devasika½ k±la½ karont²”ti? “Bah³, bhante”ti. “Nanu eva½, bhante, tava asocanak±lo na bhaveyya, rattindiva½ rodant²yeva vicareyy±s²”ti. “Hotu, bhante, ñ±ta½ may±”ti.
