6. Pasenadikosalavatthu

¾rogyaparam± l±bh±ti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± jetavane viharanto r±j±na½ pasenadikosala½ ±rabbha kathesi.
Ekasmiñhi samaye r±j± taº¹uladoºassa odana½ tadupiyena s³pabyañjanena bhuñjati. Ekadivasa½ bhuttap±tar±so bhattasammada½ avinodetv± satthu santika½ gantv± kilantar³po ito cito ca samparivattati, nidd±ya abhibh³yam±nopi ujuka½ nipajjitu½ asakkonto ekamanta½ nis²di. Atha na½ satth± ±ha– “ki½, mah±r±ja, avissamitv±va ±gatos²”ti? “¾ma, bhante, bhuttak±lato paµµh±ya me mah±dukkha½ hot²”ti. Atha na½ satth±, “mah±r±ja atibahubhojana½ eva½ dukkha½ hot²”ti vatv± ima½ g±tham±ha–
“Middh² yad± hoti mahagghaso ca,
nidd±yit± samparivattas±y²;
mah±var±hova niv±papuµµho,
punappuna½ gabbhamupeti mando”ti. (Dha. pa. 325).–

Im±ya g±th±ya ovaditv±, “mah±r±ja, bhojana½ n±ma matt±ya bhuñjitu½ vaµµati. Mattabhojino hi sukha½ hot²”ti uttari ovadanto ima½ g±tham±ha–

“Manujassa sad± sat²mato,
matta½ j±nato laddhabhojane;
tanukassa bhavanti vedan±,
saºika½ j²rati ±yup±layan”ti. (Sa½. ni. 1.124).
R±j± g±tha½ uggaºhitu½ n±sakkhi, sam²pe µhita½ pana bh±gineyya½, sudassana½ n±ma m±ºava½ “ima½ g±tha½ uggaºha, t±t±”ti ±ha. So ta½ g±tha½ uggaºhitv± “ki½ karomi, bhante”ti satth±ra½ pucchi. Atha na½ satth± ±ha– “rañño bhuñjantassa os±napiº¹ak±le ima½ g±tha½ vadeyy±si, r±j± attha½ sallakkhetv± ya½ piº¹a½ cha¹¹essati, tasmi½ piº¹e sitthagaºan±ya rañño bhattapacanak±le tattake taº¹ule hareyy±s²”ti. So “s±dhu, bhante”ti s±yampi p±topi rañño bhuñjantassa os±napiº¹ak±le ta½ g±tha½ ud±haritv± tena cha¹¹itapiº¹e sitthagaºan±ya taº¹ule h±pesi. R±j±pi tassa g±tha½ sutv± sahassa½ sahassa½ d±pesi So aparena samayena n±¼ikodanaparamat±ya saºµhahitv± sukhappatto tanusar²ro ahosi.
Athekadivasa½ satthu santika½ gantv± satth±ra½ vanditv± ±ha– “bhante, id±ni me sukha½ j±ta½, migampi assampi anubandhitv± gaºhanasamattho j±tomhi. Pubbe me bh±gineyyena saddhi½ yuddhameva hoti, id±ni vaj²rakum±ri½ n±ma dh²tara½ bh±gineyyassa datv± so g±mo tass±yeva nh±nacuººam³la½ katv± dinno, tena saddhi½ viggaho v³pasanto, imin±pi me k±raºena sukhameva j±ta½. Kulasantaka½ r±jamaºiratana½ no gehe purimadivase naµµha½, tampi id±ni hatthapatta½ ±gata½, imin±pi me k±raºena sukhameva j±ta½. Tumh±ka½ s±vakehi saddhi½ viss±sa½ icchantena ñ±tidh²t±pi no gehe kat±, imin±pi me k±raºena sukhameva j±tan”ti. Satth± “±rogya½ n±ma, mah±r±ja, paramo l±bho, yath±laddhena santuµµhabh±vasadisampi dhana½, viss±sasadiso ca param± ñ±ti, nibb±nasadisañca sukha½ n±ma natth²”ti vatv± ima½ g±tham±ha–
204. “¾rogyaparam± l±bh±, santuµµhiparama½ dhana½;
viss±saparam± ñ±ti, nibb±naparama½ sukhan”ti.
Tattha ±rogyaparam± l±bh±ti arogabh±vaparam± l±bh±. Rogino hi vijjam±n±pi l±bh± al±bh±yeva, tasm± arogassa sabbal±bh± ±gat±va honti. Teneta½ vutta½– “±rogyaparam± l±bh±”ti. Santuµµhiparama½ dhananti gihino v± pabbajitassa v± ya½ attan± laddha½ attano santaka½, teneva tussanabh±vo santuµµh² n±ma sesadhanehi parama½ dhana½. Viss±saparam± ñ±t²ti m±t± v± hotu pit± v±, yena saddhi½ viss±so natthi, so aññ±takova. Yena aññ±takena pana saddhi½ viss±so atthi, so asambandhopi paramo uttamo ñ±ti. Tena vutta½– “viss±saparam± ñ±t²”ti. Nibb±nasadisa½ pana sukha½ n±ma natthi, tenev±ha– nibb±naparama½ sukhanti.
