Jighacch±ti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± ±¼aviya½ viharanto eka½ up±saka½ ±rabbha kathesi.
Ekasmiñhi divase satth± jetavane gandhakuµiya½ nisinnova pacc³sak±le loka½ volokento ±¼aviya½ eka½ duggatamanussa½ disv± tass³panissayasampatti½ ñatv± pañcasatabhikkhupariv±ro ±¼avi½ agam±si. ¾¼aviv±sino satth±ra½ nimantayi½su. Sopi duggatamanusso “satth± kira ±gato”ti sutv± “satthu santike dhamma½ soss±m²”ti mana½ ak±si. Ta½divasameva cassa eko goºo pal±yi. So “ki½ nu kho goºa½ pariyesiss±mi, ud±hu dhamma½ suº±m²”ti cintetv± “goºa½ pariyesitv± pacch± dhamma½ soss±m²”ti p±tova geh± nikkhami. ¾¼aviv±sinopi buddhappamukha½ bhikkhusaªgha½ nis²d±petv± parivisitv± anumodanatth±ya patta½ gaºhi½su. Satth± “ya½ niss±ya aha½ ti½sayojanamagga½ ±gato, so goºa½ pariyesitu½ arañña½ paviµµho, tasmi½ ±gateyeva dhamma½ desess±m²”ti tuºh² ahosi.
Sopi manusso div± goºa½ disv± gogaºe pakkhipitv± “sacepi añña½ natthi, satthu vandanamattampi kariss±m²”ti jighacch±p²¼itopi geha½ gaman±ya mana½ akatv± vegena satthu santika½ ±gantv± satth±ra½ vanditv± ekamanta½ aµµh±si. Satth± tassa µhitak±le d±naveyy±vaµika½ ±ha– “atthi kiñci bhikkhusaªghassa atirittabhattan”ti? “Bhante, sabba½ atth²”ti. Tena hi “ima½ parivis±h²”ti. So satth±r± vuttaµµh±neyeva ta½ nis²d±petv± y±gukh±dan²yabhojan²yehi sakkacca½ parivisi. So bhuttabhatto mukha½ vikkh±lesi. Ýhapetv± kira ima½ µh±na½ t²su piµakesu aññattha gat±gatassa bhattavic±raºa½ n±ma natthi. Tassa passaddhadarathassa citta½ ekagga½ ahosi. Athassa satth± anupubbi½ katha½ kathetv± sacc±ni pak±sesi. So desan±vas±ne sot±pattiphale patiµµhahi. Satth±pi anumodana½ katv± uµµh±y±san± pakk±mi. Mah±jano satth±ra½ anugantv± nivatti.
Bhikkh³ satth±r± saddhi½ gacchant±yeva ujjh±yi½su– “passath±vuso, satthu kamma½, aññesu divasesu evar³pa½ natthi, ajja paneka½ manussa½ disv±va y±gu-±d²ni vic±retv± d±pes²”ti. Satth± nivattitv± µhitakova “ki½ kathetha, bhikkhave”ti pucchitv± tamattha½ sutv± “±ma, bhikkhave, aha½ ti½sayojana½ kant±ra½ ±gacchanto tassa up±sakass³panissaya½ disv± ±gato, so ativiya jighacchito, p±tova paµµh±ya goºa½ pariyesanto araññe vicari. ‘Jighacchadukkhena dhamme desiyam±nepi paµivijjhitu½ na sakkhissat²’ti cintetv± eva½ ak±si½, jighacch±rogasadiso rogo n±ma natth²”ti vatv± ima½ g±tham±ha–
203. “Jighacch±param± rog±, saªkh±raparam± dukh±;
eta½ ñatv± yath±bh³ta½, nibb±na½ parama½ sukhan”ti.
Tattha jighacch±param± rog±ti yasm± añño rogo saki½ tikicchito vinassati v± tadaªgavasena v± pah²yati jighacch± pana niccak±la½ tikicchitabb±yev±ti sesarog±na½ aya½ param± n±ma. Saªkh±r±ti pañca khandh±. Eta½ ñatv±ti jighacch±samo rogo natthi, khandhapariharaºasama½ dukkha½ n±ma natth²ti etamattha½ yath±bh³ta½ ñatv± paº¹ito nibb±na½ sacchi karoti. Nibb±na½ parama½ sukhanti tañhi sabbasukh±na½ parama½ uttama½ sukhanti attho.
