Satth± nisinnapallaªke antarahito sinerumuddhani µhatv± uºº±lomato rasmi½ vissajjesi, taªkhaºa½yeva candasahassuggamana½ viya ahosi. Atha satth± t± itthiyo ±mantetv± “tumhehi mama santika½ ±gaccham±n±hi pamatt±hi ±gantu½ na vaµµati. Tumh±kañhi pam±deneva m±rak±yik± devat± ot±ra½ labhitv± tumhe has±d²na½ akaraºaµµh±ne has±d²ni k±r±pesi, id±ni tumhehi r±g±d²na½ agg²na½ nibb±panatth±ya uss±ha½ k±tu½ vaµµat²”ti vatv± ima½ g±tham±ha–

Tattha ±nandoti tuµµhi. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– imasmi½ lokasanniv±se r±g±d²hi ek±dasahi agg²hi nicca½ pajjalite sati ko nu tumh±ka½ h±so v± tuµµhi v±? Nanu esa akattabbar³poyeva. Aµµhavatthukena hi avijj±ndhak±rena onaddh± tumhe tasseva andhak±rassa vidhamanatth±ya ki½ k±raº± ñ±ºappad²pa½ na gavesatha na karoth±ti.

Satth± t±sa½ acalasaddh±ya patiµµhitabh±va½ ñatv± sinerumatthak± otaritv± buddh±sane nis²di. Atha na½ vis±kh± ±ha– “bhante, sur± n±mes± p±pik±. Evar³p± hi n±ma im± itthiyo tumh±disassa buddhassa purato nis²ditv± iriy±pathamattampi saºµh±petu½ asakkontiyo uµµh±ya p±ºi½ paharitv± hasanag²tanacc±d²ni ±rabhi½s³”ti. Satth± “±ma, vis±khe, p±pik± eva es± sur± n±ma. Etañhi niss±ya aneke satt± anayabyasana½ patt±”ti vatv± “kad± panes±, bhante, uppann±”ti vutte tass± uppatti½ vitth±rena kathetu½ at²ta½ ±haritv± kumbhaj±taka½ (j±. 1.16.33 ±dayo) kathes²ti.
