4. Vajjiyam±hitasutta½

94. Eka½ samaya½ bhagav± camp±ya½ viharati gaggar±ya pokkharaºiy± t²re. Atha kho vajjiyam±hito gahapati div± divassa camp±ya nikkhami bhagavanta½ dassan±ya. Atha kho vajjiyam±hitassa gahapatissa etadahosi– “ak±lo kho t±va bhagavanta½ dassan±ya. Paµisall²no bhagav±. Manobh±van²y±nampi bhikkh³na½ ak±lo dassan±ya. Paµisall²n± manobh±van²y±pi bhikkh³. Ya½n³n±ha½ yena aññatitthiy±na½ paribb±jak±na½ ±r±mo tenupasaªkameyyan”ti.
Atha kho vajjiyam±hito gahapati yena aññatitthiy±na½ paribb±jak±na½ ±r±mo tenupasaªkami. Tena kho pana samayena te aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± saªgamma sam±gamma unn±dino ucc±saddamah±sadd± anekavihita½ tiracch±nakatha½ kathent± nisinn± honti.
Addasa½su kho te aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± vajjiyam±hita½ gahapati½ d³ratova ±gacchanta½. Disv±na aññamañña½ saºµh±pesu½– “appasadd± bhonto hontu. M± bhonto saddamakattha. Aya½ vajjiyam±hito gahapati ±gacchati samaºassa gotamassa s±vako. Y±vat± kho pana samaºassa gotamassa s±vak± gih² od±tavasan± camp±ya½ paµivasanti, aya½ tesa½ aññataro vajjiyam±hito gahapati. Appasaddak±m± kho pana te ±yasmanto appasaddavin²t± appasaddassa vaººav±dino. Appeva n±ma appasadda½ parisa½ viditv± upasaªkamitabba½ maññeyy±”ti.
Atha kho te aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± tuºh² ahesu½. Atha kho vajjiyam±hito gahapati yena te aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± tehi aññatitthiyehi paribb±jakehi saddhi½ sammodi. Sammodan²ya½ katha½ s±raº²ya½ v²tis±retv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho vajjiyam±hita½ gahapati½ te aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± etadavocu½– “sacca½ kira, gahapati, samaºo gotamo sabba½ tapa½ garahati, sabba½ tapassi½ l³kh±j²vi½ eka½sena upakkosati upavadat²”ti? “Na kho, bhante, bhagav± sabba½ tapa½ garahati napi sabba½ tapassi½ l³kh±j²vi½ eka½sena upakkosati upavadati. G±rayha½ kho, bhante, bhagav± garahati pasa½sitabba½ pasa½sati. G±rayha½ kho pana, bhante, bhagav± garahanto pasa½sitabba½ pasa½santo vibhajjav±do bhagav±. Na so bhagav± ettha eka½sav±do”ti.
Eva½ vutte aññataro paribb±jako vajjiyam±hita½ gahapati½ etadavoca– “±gamehi tva½, gahapati, yassa tva½ samaºassa gotamassa vaººa½ bh±sati, samaºo gotamo venayiko appaññattiko”ti? “Etthap±ha½, bhante, ±yasmante vakkh±mi sahadhammena– ‘ida½ kusalan’ti, bhante, bhagavat± paññatta½; ‘ida½ akusalan’ti, bhante, bhagavat± paññatta½. Iti kusal±kusala½ bhagav± paññ±payam±no sapaññattiko bhagav±; na so bhagav± venayiko appaññattiko”ti.
Eva½ vutte te paribb±jak± tuºh²bh³t± maªkubh³t± pattakkhandh± adhomukh± pajjh±yant± appaµibh±n± nis²di½su. Atha kho vajjiyam±hito gahapati te paribb±jake tuºh²bh³te maªkubh³te pattakkhandhe adhomukhe pajjh±yante appaµibh±ne viditv± uµµh±y±san± yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinno kho vajjiyam±hito gahapati y±vatako ahosi tehi aññatitthiyehi paribb±jakehi saddhi½ kath±sall±po ta½ sabba½ bhagavato ±rocesi.
“S±dhu s±dhu, gahapati! Eva½ kho te, gahapati, moghapuris± k±lena k±la½ sahadhammena suniggahita½ niggahetabb±. N±ha½, gahapati, sabba½ tapa½ tapitabbanti vad±mi; na ca pan±ha½, gahapati, sabba½ tapa½ na tapitabbanti vad±mi; n±ha½, gahapati, sabba½ sam±d±na½ sam±ditabbanti vad±mi; na pan±ha½, gahapati, sabba½ sam±d±na½ na sam±ditabbanti vad±mi; n±ha½, gahapati, sabba½ padh±na½ padahitabbanti vad±mi; na pan±ha½, gahapati, sabba½ padh±na½ na padahitabbanti vad±mi; n±ha½, gahapati, sabbo paµinissaggo paµinissajjitabboti vad±mi. Na pan±ha½, gahapati, sabbo paµinissaggo na paµinissajjitabboti vad±mi; n±ha½, gahapati, sabb± vimutti vimuccitabb±ti vad±mi; na pan±ha½, gahapati, sabb± vimutti na vimuccitabb±ti vad±mi.
“Yañhi, gahapati, tapa½ tapato akusal± dhamm± abhiva¹¹hanti, kusal± dhamm± parih±yanti, evar³pa½ tapa½ na tapitabbanti vad±mi. Yañca khvassa gahapati, tapa½ tapato akusal± dhamm± parih±yanti, kusal± dhamm± abhiva¹¹hanti, evar³pa½ tapa½ tapitabbanti vad±mi.
“Yañhi, gahapati, sam±d±na½ sam±diyato akusal± dhamm± abhiva¹¹hanti, kusal± dhamm± parih±yanti, evar³pa½ sam±d±na½ na sam±ditabbanti vad±mi. Yañca khvassa, gahapati, sam±d±na½ sam±diyato akusal± dhamm± parih±yanti, kusal± dhamm± abhiva¹¹hanti, evar³pa½ sam±d±na½ sam±ditabbanti vad±mi.
“Yañhi, gahapati, padh±na½ padahato akusal± dhamm± abhiva¹¹hanti, kusal± dhamm± parih±yanti, evar³pa½ padh±na½ na padahitabbanti vad±mi. Yañca khvassa, gahapati, padh±na½ padahato akusal± dhamm± parih±yanti kusal± dhamm± abhiva¹¹hanti evar³pa½ padh±na½ padahitabbanti vad±mi.
“Yañhi gahapati, paµinissagga½ paµinissajjato akusal± dhamm± abhiva¹¹hanti, kusal± dhamm± parih±yanti, evar³po paµinissaggo na paµinissajjitabboti vad±mi. Yañca khvassa, gahapati, paµinissagga½ paµinissajjato akusal± dhamm± parih±yanti, kusal± dhamm± abhiva¹¹hanti, evar³po paµinissaggo paµinissajjitabboti vad±mi.
“Yañhi, gahapati, vimutti½ vimuccato akusal± dhamm± abhiva¹¹hanti, kusal± dhamm± parih±yanti, evar³p± vimutti na vimuccitabb±ti vad±mi. Yañca khvassa, gahapati, vimutti½ vimuccato akusal± dhamm± parih±yanti, kusal± dhamm± abhiva¹¹hanti, evar³p± vimutti vimuccitabb±ti vad±m²”ti.
Atha kho vajjiyam±hito gahapati bhagavat± dhammiy± kath±ya sandassito sam±dapito samuttejito sampaha½sito uµµh±y±san± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± padakkhiºa½ katv± pakk±mi.
Atha kho bhagav± acirapakkante vajjiyam±hite gahapatimhi bhikkh³ ±mantesi– “yopi so, bhikkhave, bhikkhu d²gharatta½ apparajakkho imasmi½ dhammavinaye, sopi evameva½ aññatitthiye paribb±jake sahadhammena suniggahita½ niggaºheyya yath± ta½ vajjiyam±hitena gahapatin± niggahit±”ti. Catuttha½.
