85. Eka½ samaya½ ±yasm± mah±cundo cet²su viharati sahaj±tiya½. Tatra kho ±yasm± mah±cundo bhikkh³ ±mantesi– “±vuso bhikkhave”ti. “¾vuso”ti kho te bhikkh³ ±yasmato mah±cundassa paccassosu½. ¾yasm± mah±cundo etadavoca–
“Idh±vuso, bhikkhu katth² hoti vikatth² adhigamesu– ‘aha½ paµhama½ jh±na½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ dutiya½ jh±na½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ tatiya½ jh±na½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ catuttha½ jh±na½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ ±k±s±nañc±yatana½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ viññ±ºañc±yatana½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ ±kiñcaññ±yatana½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ nevasaññ±n±saññ±yatana½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ saññ±vedayitanirodha½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mip²’ti.
“Tamena½ tath±gato v± tath±gatas±vako v± jh±y² sam±pattikusalo paracittakusalo paracittapariy±yakusalo samanuyuñjati samanugg±hati samanubh±sati. So tath±gatena v± tath±gatas±vakena v± jh±yin± sam±pattikusalena paracittakusalena paracittapariy±yakusalena samanuyuñjiyam±no samanugg±hiyam±no samanubh±siyam±no ir²ºa½ ±pajjati vicina½ ±pajjati anaya½ ±pajjati byasana½ ±pajjati anayabyasana½ ±pajjati.

‘Duppañño kho pana ayam±yasm±; duppaññat± kho pana tath±gatappavedite dhammavinaye parih±nameta½’.
“Seyyath±pi, ±vuso, sah±yako sah±yaka½ eva½ vadeyya– ‘yad± te, samma, dhanena [bandho (ka.)] dhanakaraº²ya½ assa, y±ceyy±si ma½ [y±cissasi ma½ (s².), pavedeyy±si ma½ (sy±.), par±jeyy±pi ma½ (ka.)] dhana½. Dass±mi te dhanan’ti. So kiñcideva dhanakaraº²ye samuppanne sah±yako sah±yaka½ eva½ vadeyya– ‘attho me, samma, dhanena. Dehi me dhanan’ti. So eva½ vadeyya– ‘tena hi, samma, idha khan±h²’ti. So tatra khananto n±dhigaccheyya. So eva½ vadeyya– ‘alika½ ma½, samma, avaca; tucchaka½ ma½, samma, avaca– idha khan±h²’ti. So eva½ vadeyya– ‘n±ha½ ta½, samma, alika½ avaca½, tucchaka½ avaca½. Tena hi, samma, idha khan±h²’ti. So tatrapi khananto n±dhigaccheyya. So eva½ vadeyya– ‘alika½ ma½, samma, avaca, tucchaka½ ma½, samma, avaca– idha khan±h²’ti. So eva½ vadeyya– ‘n±ha½ ta½, samma, alika½ avaca½, tucchaka½ avaca½ Tena hi, samma, idha khan±h²’ti. So tatrapi khananto n±dhigaccheyya. So eva½ vadeyya– ‘alika½ ma½, samma, avaca, tucchaka½ ma½, samma, avaca– idha khan±h²’ti. So eva½ vadeyya– ‘n±ha½ ta½, samma, alika½ avaca½, tucchaka½ avaca½. Api ca ahameva umm±da½ p±puºi½ cetaso vipariy±yan’ti.
“Evameva½ kho, ±vuso, bhikkhu katth² hoti vikatth² adhigamesu– ‘aha½ paµhama½ jh±na½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ dutiya½ jh±na½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ tatiya½ jh±na½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ catuttha½ jh±na½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ ±k±s±nañc±yatana½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ viññ±ºañc±yatana½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ ±kiñcaññ±yatana½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ nevasaññ±n±saññ±yatana½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mipi, aha½ saññ±vedayitanirodha½ sam±pajj±mipi vuµµhah±mip²’ti.
“Tamena½ tath±gato v± tath±gatas±vako v± jh±y² sam±pattikusalo paracittakusalo paracittapariy±yakusalo samanuyuñjati samanugg±hati samanubh±sati. So tath±gatena v± tath±gatas±vakena v± jh±yin± sam±pattikusalena paracittakusalena paracittapariy±yakusalena samanuyuñjiyam±no samanugg±hiyam±no samanubh±siyam±no ir²ºa½ ±pajjati vicina½ ±pajjati anaya½ ±pajjati byasana½ ±pajjati anayabyasana½ ±pajjati.

“So vat±vuso, bhikkhu ‘ime dasa dhamme appah±ya imasmi½ dhammavinaye vuddhi½ vir³¼hi½ vepulla½ ±pajjissat²’ti neta½ µh±na½ vijjati. So vat±vuso, bhikkhu ‘ime dasa dhamme pah±ya imasmi½ dhammavinaye vuddhi½ vir³¼hi½ vepulla½ ±pajjissat²’ti µh±nameta½ vijjat²”ti. Pañcama½.
