219. “N±ha½, bhikkhave, sañcetanik±na½ kamm±na½ kat±na½ upacit±na½ appaµisa½veditv± byant²bh±va½ vad±mi, tañca kho diµµheva dhamme upapajje v± apare v± pariy±ye. Na tvev±ha½, bhikkhave, sañcetanik±na½ kamm±na½ kat±na½ upacit±na½ appaµisa½veditv± dukkhassantakiriya½ vad±mi.
“Sa kho so, bhikkhave, ariyas±vako eva½ vigat±bhijjho vigataby±p±do asamm³¼ho sampaj±no paµissato mett±sahagatena cetas± eka½ disa½ pharitv± viharati tath± dutiya½ tath± tatiya½ tath± catuttha½ [catutthi½ (?)]. Iti uddhamadho tiriya½ sabbadhi sabbattat±ya sabb±vanta½ loka½ mett±sahagatena cetas± vipulena mahaggatena appam±ºena averena aby±pajjena pharitv± viharati.
“So eva½ paj±n±ti– ‘pubbe kho me ida½ citta½ paritta½ ahosi abh±vita½, etarahi pana me ida½ citta½ appam±ºa½ subh±vita½. Ya½ kho pana kiñci pam±ºakata½ kamma½, na ta½ tatr±vasissati na ta½ tatr±vatiµµhat²’ti
“Ta½ ki½ maññatha, bhikkhave, daharatagge ce so aya½ [ce aya½ (sy±.)] kum±ro metta½ cetovimutti½ bh±veyya, api nu kho [api nu so (?)] P±pakamma½ kareyy±”ti? “No heta½, bhante”.
“Akaronta½ kho pana p±pakamma½ api nu kho dukkha½ phuseyy±”ti? “No heta½, bhante. Akarontañhi, bhante, p±pakamma½ kuto dukkha½ phusissat²”ti!
“Bh±vetabb± kho pan±ya½, bhikkhave, mett±cetovimutti itthiy± v± purisena v±. Itthiy± v±, bhikkhave, purisassa v± n±ya½ k±yo ±d±ya gaman²yo. Cittantaro aya½, bhikkhave macco. So eva½ paj±n±ti– ‘ya½ kho me ida½ kiñci pubbe imin± karajak±yena p±pakamma½ kata½, sabba½ ta½ idha vedan²ya½; na ta½ anuga½ bhavissat²’ti. Eva½ bh±vit± kho, bhikkhave, mett± cetovimutti an±g±mit±ya sa½vattati, idha paññassa bhikkhuno uttari [uttari½ (s². sy±. p².)] vimutti½ appaµivijjhato.
