Atha kho cundo kamm±raputto yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho cunda½ kamm±raputta½ bhagav± etadavoca– “kassa no tva½, cunda, soceyy±ni roces²”ti? “Br±hmaº±, bhante, pacch±bh³mak± kamaº¹aluk± sev±lam±lik± [sev±lam±lak± (s². sy±. p².)] aggiparic±rik± udakorohak± soceyy±ni paññapenti; tes±ha½ soceyy±ni rocem²”ti.

“Kathañca, cunda, tividha½ k±yena asoceyya½ hoti? “Idha, cunda, ekacco p±º±tip±t² hoti luddo lohitap±ºi hatapahate niviµµho aday±panno sabbap±ºabh³tesu [p±ºabh³tesu (ka.)].
“Adinn±d±y² hoti. Ya½ ta½ parassa paravitt³pakaraºa½ g±magata½ v± araññagata½ v± ta½ adinna½ theyyasaªkh±ta½ ±d±t± hoti.
“K±mesumicch±c±r² hoti. “By±pannacitto hoti paduµµhamanasaªkappo– ‘ime satt± haññantu v± bajjhantu v± ucchijjantu v± vinassantu v± m± v± ahesun’ti [m± v± ahesu½ iti v± ti (s². p². ka.)].

“Katha½ cunda, tividha½ k±yena soceyya½ hoti? Idha, cunda, ekacco p±º±tip±ta½ pah±ya p±º±tip±t± paµivirato hoti nihitadaº¹o nihitasattho, lajj² day±panno, sabbap±ºabh³tahit±nukamp² viharati.
“Adinn±d±na½ pah±ya, adinn±d±n± paµivirato hoti. Ya½ ta½ parassa paravitt³pakaraºa½ g±magata½ v± araññagata½ v±, na ta½ adinna½ [ta½ n±dinna½ (ka. s²., ma. ni. 1.441)] theyyasaªkh±ta½ ±d±t± hoti.

“Pharusa½ v±ca½ pah±ya, pharus±ya v±c±ya paµivirato hoti. Y± s± v±c± nel± kaººasukh± peman²y± hadayaªgam± por² bahujanakant± bahujanaman±p±, tath±r³pi½ v±ca½ bh±sit± hoti.
“Samphappal±pa½ pah±ya, samphappal±p± paµivirato hoti k±lav±d² bh³tav±d² atthav±d² dhammav±d² vinayav±d²; nidh±navati½ v±ca½ bh±sit± hoti k±lena s±padesa½ pariyantavati½ atthasa½hita½. Eva½ kho, cunda catubbidha½ v±c±ya soceyya½ hoti.
