115. “Adhammo ca, bhikkhave, veditabbo dhammo ca; anattho ca veditabbo attho ca. Adhammañca viditv± dhammañca, anatthañca viditv± atthañca yath± dhammo yath± attho tath± paµipajjitabban”ti. Idamavoca bhagav±. Ida½ vatv±na sugato uµµh±y±san± vih±ra½ p±visi.
Atha kho tesa½ bhikkh³na½ acirapakkantassa bhagavato etadahosi– “ida½ kho no, ±vuso, bhagav± sa½khittena uddesa½ uddisitv± vitth±rena attha½ avibhajitv± uµµh±y±san± vih±ra½ paviµµho– ‘adhammo ca, bhikkhave, veditabbo dhammo ca; anattho ca veditabbo attho ca Adhammañca viditv± dhammañca, anatthañca viditv± atthañca yath± dhammo yath± attho tath± paµipajjitabban’ti. Ko nu kho imassa bhagavat± sa½khittena uddesassa uddiµµhassa vitth±rena attha½ avibhattassa vitth±rena attha½ vibhajeyy±”ti?
Atha kho tesa½ bhikkh³na½ etadahosi– “aya½ kho ±yasm± ±nando satthu ceva sa½vaººito sambh±vito ca viññ³na½ sabrahmac±r²na½. Pahoti c±yasm± ±nando imassa bhagavat± sa½khittena uddesassa uddiµµhassa vitth±rena attha½ avibhattassa vitth±rena attha½ vibhajitu½. Ya½n³na maya½ yen±yasm± ±nando tenupasaªkameyy±ma; upasaªkamitv± ±yasmanta½ ±nanda½ etamattha½ paµipuccheyy±ma [puccheyy±ma (s². sy±. p².) ma. ni. 1.202 passitabba½]. Yath± no ±yasm± ±nando by±karissati tath± na½ dh±ress±m±”ti.
Atha kho te bhikkh³ yen±yasm± ±nando tenupasaªkami½su; upasaªkamitv± ±yasmat± ±nandena saddhi½ sammodi½su. Sammodan²ya½ katha½ s±raº²ya½ v²tis±retv± ekamanta½ nis²di½su. Ekamanta½ nisinn± kho te bhikkh³ ±yasmanta½ ±nanda½ etadavocu½–
“Ida½ kho no, ±vuso ±nanda, bhagav± sa½khittena uddesa½ uddisitv± vitth±rena attha½ avibhajitv± uµµh±y±san± vih±ra½ paviµµho– ‘adhammo ca…pe… tath± paµipajjitabban’ti.
“Tesa½ no, ±vuso, amh±ka½ acirapakkantassa bhagavato etadahosi– ‘ida½ kho no, ±vuso, bhagavat± sa½khittena uddesa½ uddisitv± vitth±rena attha½ avibhajitv± uµµh±y±san± vih±ra½ paviµµho– adhammo ca…pe… tath± paµipajjitabbanti. “Seyyath±pi ±vuso, puriso s±ratthiko s±ragaves² s±rapariyesana½ caram±no mahato rukkhassa tiµµhato s±ravato atikkammeva m³la½ atikkamma khandha½ s±kh±pal±se s±ra½ pariyesitabba½ maññeyya; eva½sampadamida½ ±yasmant±na½ satthari sammukh²bh³te ta½ bhagavanta½ atisitv± amhe etamattha½ paµipucchitabba½ maññatha. So h±vuso, bhagav± j±na½ j±n±ti passa½ passati, cakkhubh³to ñ±ºabh³to dhammabh³to brahmabh³to vatt± pavatt± atthassa ninnet± amatassa d±t± dhammass±m² tath±gato. So ceva panetassa k±lo ahosi ya½ tumhe bhagavanta½yeva upasaªkamitv± etamattha½ paµipuccheyy±tha. Yath± vo bhagav± by±kareyya tath± na½ dh±reyy±th±”ti.
“Addh±vuso ±nanda, bhagav± j±na½ j±n±ti passa½ passati cakkhubh³to ñ±ºabh³to dhammabh³to brahmabh³to vatt± pavatt± atthassa ninnet± amatassa d±t± dhammass±m² tath±gato. So ceva panetassa k±lo ahosi ya½ maya½ bhagavanta½yeva upasaªkamitv± etamattha½ paµipuccheyy±ma, yath± no bhagav± by±kareyya tath± na½ dh±reyy±ma. Api c±yasm± ±nando satthu ceva sa½vaººito sambh±vito ca viññ³na½ sabrahmac±r²na½. Pahoti c±yasm± ±nando imassa bhagavat± sa½khittena uddesassa uddiµµhassa vitth±rena attha½ avibhattassa vitth±rena attha½ vibhajitu½. Vibhajat±yasm± ±nando agaru½ katv±”ti.
“Tenah±vuso, suº±tha, s±dhuka½ manasi karotha; bh±siss±m²”ti. “Evam±vuso”ti kho te bhikkh³ ±yasmato ±nandassa paccassosu½. Ath±yasm± ±nando etadavoca–
“Ya½ kho no, ±vuso, bhagav± sa½khittena uddesa½ uddisitv± vitth±rena attha½ avibhajitv± uµµh±y±san± vih±ra½ paviµµho– ‘adhammo ca, bhikkhave, veditabbo dhammo ca; anattho ca veditabbo attho ca. Adhammañca viditv± dhammañca, anatthañca viditv± atthañca yath± dhammo yath± attho tath± paµipajjitabban’ti.
Katamo c±vuso, adhammo, katamo ca dhammo, katamo ca anattho, katamo ca attho?
“Micch±diµµhi, ±vuso, adhammo; samm±diµµhi dhammo; ye ca micch±diµµhipaccay± aneke p±pak± akusal± dhamm± sambhavanti, aya½ anattho; samm±diµµhipaccay± ca aneke kusal± dhamm± bh±van±p±rip³ri½ gacchanti, aya½ attho.
“Micch±saªkappo, ±vuso, adhammo; samm±saªkappo dhammo… micch±v±c±, ±vuso, adhammo; samm±v±c± dhammo micch±kammanto, ±vuso, adhammo; samm±kammanto dhammo… micch±-±j²vo, ±vuso, adhammo; samm±-±j²vo dhammo… micch±v±y±mo, ±vuso, adhammo; samm±v±y±mo dhammo… micch±sati, ±vuso, adhammo; samm±sati dhammo… micch±sam±dhi, ±vuso, adhammo; samm±sam±dhi dhammo… micch±ñ±ºa½, ±vuso, adhammo; samm±ñ±ºa½ dhammo….
Micch±vimutti, ±vuso, adhammo; samm±vimutti dhammo; ye ca micch±vimuttipaccay± aneke p±pak± akusal± dhamm± sambhavanti, aya½ anattho; samm±vimuttipaccay± ca aneke kusal± dhamm± bh±van±p±rip³ri½ gacchanti, aya½ attho.
“Aya½ kho no, ±vuso, bhagav± sa½khittena uddesa½ uddisitv± vitth±rena attha½ avibhajitv± uµµh±y±san± vih±ra½ paviµµho– ‘adhammo ca, bhikkhave, veditabbo dhammo ca…pe… tath± paµipajjitabban’ti, imassa kho aha½, ±vuso, bhagavat± sa½khittena uddesassa uddiµµhassa vitth±rena attha½ avibhattassa eva½ vitth±rena attha½ ±j±n±mi. ¾kaªkham±n± ca pana tumhe, ±vuso, bhagavanta½yeva upasaªkamitv± etamattha½ paµipuccheyy±tha. Yath± vo bhagav± by±karoti [by±kareyya (sy±.)] tath± na½ dh±reyy±th±”ti.
“Evam±vuso”ti kho te bhikkh³ ±yasmato ±nandassa bh±sita½ abhinanditv± anumoditv± uµµh±y±san± yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami½su; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di½su. Ekamanta½ nisinn± kho te bhikkh³ bhagavanta½ etadavocu½–
“Ya½ kho no bhagav± sa½khittena uddesa½ uddisitv± vitth±rena attha½ avibhajitv± uµµh±y±san± vih±ra½ paviµµho– ‘adhammo ca, bhikkhave, veditabbo…pe… tath± paµijjitabban’ti.

“Atha kho maya½, bhante, yen±yasm± ±nando tenupasaªkamimh±; upasaªkamitv± ±yasmanta½ ±nanda½ etamattha½ apucchimh±. Tesa½ no, bhante, ±yasmat± ±nandena imehi ±k±rehi imehi padehi imehi byañjanehi attho suvibhatto”ti [vibhattoti (?) Evameva hi aññesu ²disasuttesu dissati].
“S±dhu s±dhu, bhikkhave! Paº¹ito, bhikkhave, ±nando. Mah±pañño, bhikkhave, ±nando. Ma½ cepi tumhe, bhikkhave, upasaªkamitv± etamattha½ paµipuccheyy±tha, ahampi ceta½ evameva½ [ahampi ta½ evameva½ (ma. ni. 1.205)] by±kareyya½ yath± ta½ ±nandena by±kata½. Eso ceva tassa [eso cevetassa (ma. ni. 1.205)] attho evañca na½ dh±reyy±th±”ti. Tatiya½.
