63. Atha kho bhagav± pubbaºhasamaya½ niv±setv± pattac²varam±d±ya yena an±thapiº¹ikassa gahapatissa nivesana½ tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± paññatte ±sane nis²di. Tena kho pana samayena an±thapiº¹ikassa gahapatissa nivesane manuss± ucc±sadd± mah±sadd± honti. Atha kho an±thapiº¹iko gahapati yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho an±thapiº¹ika½ gahapati½ bhagav± etadavoca–
“Ki½ nu te, gahapati, nivesane manuss± ucc±sadd± mah±sadd± kevaµµ± maññe macchavilope”ti? “Aya½, bhante, suj±t± gharasuºh± a¹¹hakul± ±n²t±. S± neva sassu½ ±diyati, na sasura½ ±diyati, na s±mika½ ±diyati, bhagavantampi na sakkaroti na garu½ karoti na m±neti na p³jet²”ti.
Atha kho bhagav± suj±ta½ gharasuºha½ ±mantesi– “ehi, suj±te”ti! “Eva½, bhante”ti kho suj±t± gharasuºh± bhagavato paµissutv± yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho suj±ta½ gharasuºha½ bhagav± etadavoca
“Satta kho im±, suj±te, purisassa bhariy±yo. Katam± satta? Vadhakasam±, cor²sam±, ayyasam±, m±t±sam±, bhagin²sam±, sakh²sam±, d±s²sam±. Im± kho, suj±te, satta purisassa bhariy±yo. T±sa½ tva½ katam±”ti? “Na kho aha½ [n±ha½ (sy±.)], bhante, imassa bhagavat± sa½khittena bh±sitassa vitth±rena attha½ ±j±n±mi. S±dhu me, bhante, bhagav± tath± dhamma½ desetu yath±ha½ imassa bhagavat± sa½khittena bh±sitassa vitth±rena attha½ j±neyyan”ti. “Tena hi, suj±te, suº±hi, s±dhuka½ manasi karohi; bh±siss±m²”ti. “Eva½, bhante”ti kho suj±t± gharasuºh± bhagavato paccassosi. “Paduµµhacitt± ahit±nukampin²,
aññesu ratt± atimaññate pati½;
dhanena k²tassa vadh±ya ussuk±,
y± evar³p± purisassa bhariy±;
‘vadh± ca bhariy±’ti ca s± pavuccati.
“Ya½ itthiy± vindati s±miko dhana½,
sippa½ vaºijjañca kasi½ adhiµµhaha½;
appampi tassa apah±tumicchati,
y± evar³p± purisassa bhariy±;
‘cor² ca bhariy±’ti ca s± pavuccati.
“Akammak±m± alas± mahagghas±,
pharus± ca caº¹² duruttav±din²;
uµµh±yak±na½ abhibhuyya vattati,
y± evar³p± purisassa bhariy±;
‘ayy± ca bhariy±’ti ca s± pavuccati.
“Y± sabbad± hoti hit±nukampin²,
m±t±va putta½ anurakkhate pati½;
tato dhana½ sambhatamassa rakkhati,
y± evar³p± purisassa bhariy±;
‘m±t± ca bhariy±’ti ca s± pavuccati.
“Yath±pi jeµµh± bhagin² kaniµµhak± [kaºiµµh± (s².), kaniµµh± (sy±.)],
sag±rav± hoti sakamhi s±mike;
hir²man± bhattuvas±nuvattin²,
y± evar³p± purisassa bhariy±.‘Bhagin² ca bhariy±’ti ca s± pavuccati.
“Y±c²dha disv±na pati½ pamodati,
sakh² sakh±ra½va cirassam±gata½;
koleyyak± s²lavat² patibbat±,
y± evar³p± purisassa bhariy±;
‘sakh² ca bhariy±’ti ca s± pavuccati.
“Akkuddhasant± vadhadaº¹atajjit±,
aduµµhacitt± patino titikkhati;
akkodhan± bhattuvas±nuvattin²,
y± evar³p± purisassa bhariy±;
‘d±s² ca bhariy±’ti ca s± pavuccati.
“Y±c²dha bhariy± vadhak±ti vuccati,
‘cor² ca ayy±’ti ca y± pavuccati;
duss²lar³p± pharus± an±dar±,
k±yassa bhed± niraya½ vajanti t±.
“Y±c²dha m±t± bhagin² sakh²ti ca,
‘d±s² ca bhariy±’ti ca s± pavuccati;
s²le µhitatt± cirarattasa½vut±,
k±yassa bhed± sugati½ vajanti t±”ti.
“Im± kho, suj±te, satta purisassa bhariy±yo. T±sa½ tva½ katam±”ti? “Ajjatagge ma½, bhante, bhagav± d±s²sama½ s±mikassa bhariya½ dh±ret³”ti. Dasama½.
