Pañca usabhasat±ni th³º³pan²t±ni honti yaññatth±ya pañca vacchatarasat±ni th³º³pan²t±ni honti yaññatth±ya, pañca vacchatarisat±ni th³º³pan²t±ni honti yaññatth±ya, pañca ajasat±ni th³º³pan²t±ni honti yaññatth±ya, pañca urabbhasat±ni th³º³pan²t±ni honti yaññatth±ya. Atha kho uggatasar²ro br±hmaºo yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavat± saddhi½ sammodi. Sammodan²ya½ katha½ s±raº²ya½ v²tis±retv± ekamanta½ nis²di. “Suta½ meta½, bho gotama, aggissa ±d±na½ [±dh±na½ (s². sy±.)] y³passa uss±pana½ mahapphala½ hoti mah±nisa½san”ti. “May±pi kho eta½, br±hmaºa, suta½ aggissa ±d±na½ y³passa uss±pana½ mahapphala½ hoti mah±nisa½san”ti. Dutiyampi kho uggatasar²ro br±hmaºo…pe… tatiyampi kho uggatasar²ro br±hmaºo bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “suta½ meta½, bho gotama, aggissa ±d±na½ y³passa uss±pana½ mahapphala½ hoti mah±nisa½san”ti. “May±pi kho eta½, br±hmaºa, suta½ aggissa ±d±na½ y³passa uss±pana½ mahapphala½ hoti mah±nisa½san”ti. “Tayida½, bho gotama sameti bhoto ceva gotamassa amh±kañca, yadida½ sabbena sabba½”.
Eva½ vutte ±yasm± ±nando uggatasar²ra½ br±hmaºa½ etadavoca– “na kho, br±hmaºa, tath±gat± eva½ pucchitabb±– ‘suta½ meta½, bho gotama, aggissa ±d±na½ y³passa uss±pana½ mahapphala½ hoti mah±nisa½san’ti. Eva½ kho, br±hmaºa, tath±gat± pucchitabb±– ‘ahañhi, bhante, aggi½ [aggissa (ka.)] ±d±tuk±mo, [±dh±tuk±mo (s². sy±.)] y³pa½ uss±petuk±mo. Ovadatu ma½, bhante, bhagav±. Anus±satu ma½, bhante, bhagav± ya½ mama assa d²gharatta½ hit±ya sukh±y±”’ti.
Atha kho uggatasar²ro br±hmaºo bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “ahañhi, bho gotama, aggi½ ±d±tuk±mo y³pa½ uss±petuk±mo. Ovadatu ma½ bhava½ gotamo. Anus±satu ma½ bhava½ gotamo ya½ mama assa d²gharatta½ hit±ya sukh±y±”ti.
“Aggi½, br±hmaºa, ±dento [±dhento (s². sy±.)] y³pa½ uss±pento pubbeva yaññ± t²ºi satth±ni uss±peti akusal±ni dukkhudray±ni [dukkhudday±ni (s².)] dukkhavip±k±ni. Katam±ni t²ºi K±yasattha½, vac²sattha½, manosattha½. Aggi½, br±hmaºa, ±dento y³pa½ uss±pento pubbeva yaññ± eva½ citta½ upp±desi– ‘ettak± usabh± haññantu yaññatth±ya, ettak± vacchatar± haññantu yaññatth±ya, ettak± vacchatariyo haññantu yaññatth±ya, ettak± aj± haññantu yaññatth±ya, ettak± urabbh± haññantu yaññatth±y±’ti. So ‘puñña½ karom²’ti apuñña½ karoti, ‘kusala½ karom²’ti akusala½ karoti, ‘sugatiy± magga½ pariyes±m²’ti duggatiy± magga½ pariyesati. “Puna capara½, br±hmaºa, aggi½ ±dento y³pa½ uss±pento pubbeva yaññ± eva½ v±ca½ bh±sati– ‘ettak± usabh± haññantu yaññatth±ya, ettak± vacchatar± haññantu yaññatth±ya, ettak± vacchatariyo haññantu yaññatth±ya, ettak± aj± haññantu yaññatth±ya, ettak± urabbh± haññantu yaññatth±y±’ti. So ‘puñña½ karom²’ti apuñña½ karoti, ‘kusala½ karom²’ti akusala½ karoti, ‘sugatiy± magga½ pariyes±m²’ti duggatiy± magga½ pariyesati. “Katamo ca, br±hmaºa, ±huneyyaggi? Idha, br±hmaºa, yassa te honti m±t±ti v± pit±ti v±, aya½ vuccati, br±hmaºa, ±huneyyaggi. Ta½ kissa hetu Atohaya½ [itop±ya½ (ka.)], br±hmaºa, ±huto sambh³to, tasm±ya½ ±huneyyaggi sakkatv± garu½ katv± m±netv± p³jetv± samm± sukha½ parih±tabbo.
“Katamo ca, br±hmaºa, gahapataggi? Idha, br±hmaºa, yassa te honti putt±ti v± d±r±ti v± d±s±ti v± pess±ti v± kammakar±ti v±, aya½ vuccati, br±hmaºa gahapataggi. Tasm±ya½ gahapataggi sakkatv± garu½ katv± m±netv± p³jetv± samm± sukha½ parih±tabbo.
“Katamo ca, br±hmaºa, dakkhiºeyyaggi? Idha, br±hmaºa, ye te samaºabr±hmaº± parappav±d± paµivirat± khantisoracce niviµµh± ekamatt±na½ damenti, ekamatt±na½ samenti, ekamatt±na½ parinibb±penti, aya½ vuccati, br±hmaºa, dakkhiºeyyaggi. Es±ha½, bho gotama, pañca usabhasat±ni muñc±mi j²vita½ demi, pañca vacchatarasat±ni muñc±mi j²vita½ demi, pañca vacchatarisat±ni muñc±mi j²vita½ demi, pañca ajasat±ni muñc±mi j²vita½ demi, pañca urabbhasat±ni muñc±mi j²vita½ demi.
