1. Soºasutta½

55. [Mah±va. 243 ±gata½] eva½ me suta½– eka½ samaya½ bhagav± r±jagahe viharati gijjhak³µe pabbate. Tena kho pana samayena ±yasm± soºo r±jagahe viharati s²tavanasmi½. Atha kho ±yasmato soºassa rahogatassa paµisall²nassa eva½ cetaso parivitakko udap±di– “ye kho keci bhagavato s±vak± ±raddhav²riy± viharanti, aha½ tesa½ aññataro. Atha ca pana me na anup±d±ya ±savehi citta½ vimuccati, sa½vijjanti kho pana me kule bhog±, sakk± bhog± ca bhuñjitu½ puññ±ni ca k±tu½. Ya½n³n±ha½ sikkha½ paccakkh±ya h²n±y±vattitv± bhoge ca bhuñjeyya½ puññ±ni ca kareyyan”ti.
Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmato soºassa cetas± cetoparivitakkamaññ±ya– seyyath±pi n±ma balav± puriso sammiñjita½ v± b±ha½ pas±reyya, pas±rita½ v± b±ha½ sammiñjeyya, evameva½ kho– gijjhak³µe pabbate antarahito s²tavane ±yasmato soºassa sammukhe p±turahosi. Nis²di bhagav± paññatte ±sane. ¾yasm±pi kho soºo bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho ±yasmanta½ soºa½ bhagav± etadavoca–
“Nanu te, soºa, rahogatassa paµisall²nassa eva½ cetaso parivitakko udap±di– ‘ye kho keci bhagavato s±vak± ±raddhav²riy± viharanti, aha½ tesa½ aññataro. Atha ca pana me na anup±d±ya ±savehi citta½ vimuccati, sa½vijjanti kho pana me kule bhog±, sakk± bhog± [bhoge (mah±va. 243)] ca bhuñjitu½ puññ±ni ca k±tu½. Ya½n³n±ha½ sikkha½ paccakkh±ya h²n±y±vattitv± bhoge ca bhuñjeyya½ puññ±ni ca kareyya”n’ti? “Eva½, bhante”.
“Ta½ ki½ maññasi, soºa, kusalo tva½ pubbe ag±riyabh³to [±g±rikabh³to (sy±.), ag±rikabh³to (mah±va. 243)] v²º±ya tantissare”ti? “Eva½, bhante”. “Ta½ ki½ maññasi, soºa, yad± te v²º±ya tantiyo acc±yat± honti, api nu te v²º± tasmi½ samaye saravat² v± hoti kammaññ± v±”ti? “No heta½, bhante”.
“Ta½ ki½ maññasi, soºa, yad± te v²º±ya tantiyo atisithil± honti, api nu te v²º± tasmi½ samaye saravat² v± hoti kammaññ± v±”ti? “No heta½, bhante”.
“Yad± pana te, soºa, v²º±ya tantiyo na acc±yat± honti n±tisithil± same guºe patiµµhit±, api nu te v²º± tasmi½ samaye saravat² v± hoti kammaññ± v±”ti? “Eva½, bhante”.
“Evameva½ kho, soºa, acc±raddhav²riya½ uddhacc±ya sa½vattati, atisithilav²riya½ kosajj±ya sa½vattati. Tasm±tiha tva½, soºa, v²riyasamatha½ adhiµµhaha½, indriy±nañca samata½ paµivijjha, tattha ca nimitta½ gaºh±h²”ti. “Eva½, bhante”ti kho ±yasm± soºo bhagavato paccassosi. Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmanta½ soºa½ imin± ov±dena ovaditv±– seyyath±pi n±ma balav± puriso samiñjita½ v± b±ha½ pas±reyya, pas±rita½ v± b±ha½ samiñjeyya, evameva½ kho– s²tavane antarahito gijjhak³µe pabbate p±turahosi.
Atha kho ±yasm± soºo aparena samayena v²riyasamatha½ adhiµµh±si, indriy±nañca samata½ paµivijjhi, tattha ca nimitta½ aggahesi. Atha kho ±yasm± soºo eko v³pakaµµho appamatto ±t±p² pahitatto viharanto nacirasseva– yassatth±ya kulaputt± sammadeva ag±rasm± an±g±riya½ pabbajanti tadanuttara½– brahmacariyapariyos±na½ diµµheva dhamme saya½ abhiññ± sacchikatv± upasampajja vih±si. “Kh²º± j±ti, vusita½ brahmacariya½, kata½ karaº²ya½, n±para½ itthatt±y±”ti abbhaññ±si. Aññataro ca pan±yasm± soºo arahata½ ahosi.
Atha kho ±yasmato soºassa arahattappattassa etadahosi– “ya½n³n±ha½ yena bhagav± tenupasaªkameyya½; upasaªkamitv± bhagavato santike añña½ by±kareyyan”ti. Atha kho ±yasm± soºo yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinno kho ±yasm± soºo bhagavanta½ etadavoca–
“Yo so, bhante, bhikkhu araha½ kh²º±savo vusitav± katakaraº²yo ohitabh±ro anuppattasadattho parikkh²ºabhavasa½yojano sammadaññ±vimutto, so cha µh±n±ni adhimutto hoti– nekkhamm±dhimutto hoti, pavivek±dhimutto hoti, aby±pajj±dhimutto [aby±pajjh±dhimutto (ka.) mah±va. 244 passitabba½] hoti, taºh±kkhay±dhimutto hoti, up±d±nakkhay±dhimutto hoti, asammoh±dhimutto hoti.
“Siy± kho pana, bhante, idhekaccassa ±yasmato evamassa– ‘kevala½saddh±mattaka½ n³na ayam±yasm± niss±ya nekkhamm±dhimutto’ti Na kho paneta½, bhante, eva½ daµµhabba½. Kh²º±savo, bhante, bhikkhu vusitav± katakaraº²yo karaº²ya½ attano asamanupassanto katassa v± paµicaya½ khay± r±gassa v²tar±gatt± nekkhamm±dhimutto hoti, khay± dosassa v²tadosatt± nekkhamm±dhimutto hoti, khay± mohassa v²tamohatt± nekkhamm±dhimutto hoti.
“Siy± kho pana, bhante, idhekaccassa ±yasmato evamassa– ‘l±bhasakk±rasiloka½ n³na ayam±yasm± nik±mayam±no pavivek±dhimutto’ti. Na kho paneta½, bhante, eva½ daµµhabba½. Kh²º±savo, bhante, bhikkhu vusitav± katakaraº²yo karaº²ya½ attano asamanupassanto katassa v± paµicaya½ khay± r±gassa v²tar±gatt± pavivek±dhimutto hoti, khay± dosassa v²tadosatt± pavivek±dhimutto hoti, khay± mohassa v²tamohatt± pavivek±dhimutto hoti.
“Siy± kho pana, bhante, idhekaccassa ±yasmato evamassa– ‘s²labbatapar±m±sa½ n³na ayam±yasm± s±rato pacc±gacchanto aby±pajj±dhimutto’ti. Na kho paneta½, bhante, eva½ daµµhabba½. Kh²º±savo, bhante, bhikkhu vusitav± katakaraº²yo karaº²ya½ attano asamanupassanto katassa v± paµicaya½ khay± r±gassa v²tar±gatt± aby±pajj±dhimutto hoti, khay± dosassa v²tadosatt± aby±pajj±dhimutto hoti, khay± mohassa v²tamohatt± aby±pajj±dhimutto hoti.
“Khay± r±gassa v²tar±gatt± taºh±kkhay±dhimutto hoti, khay± dosassa v²tadosatt± taºh±kkhay±dhimutto hoti, khay± mohassa v²tamohatt± taºh±kkhay±dhimutto hoti.
“Khay± r±gassa v²tar±gatt± up±d±nakkhay±dhimutto hoti, khay± dosassa v²tadosatt± up±d±nakkhay±dhimutto hoti, khay± mohassa v²tamohatt± up±d±nakkhay±dhimutto hoti.
“Khay± r±gassa v²tar±gatt± asammoh±dhimutto hoti, khay± dosassa v²tadosatt± asammoh±dhimutto hoti, khay± mohassa v²tamohatt± asammoh±dhimutto hoti.
“Eva½ samm± vimuttacittassa, bhante, bhikkhuno bhus± cepi cakkhuviññeyy± r³p± cakkhussa ±p±tha½ [±p±ta½ (ka.)] ±gacchanti, nevassa citta½ pariy±diyanti. Amiss²katamevassa citta½ hoti µhita½ ±neñjappatta½ vayañcass±nupassati Bhus± cepi sotaviññeyy± sadd±…pe… gh±naviññeyy± gandh±… jivh±viññeyy± ras±… k±yaviññeyy± phoµµhabb±… manoviññeyy± dhamm± manassa ±p±tha½ ±gacchanti, nevassa citta½ pariy±diyanti. Amiss²katamevassa citta½ hoti µhita½ ±neñjappatta½ vayañcass±nupassati. Seyyath±pi, bhante, selo pabbato acchiddo asusiro ekagghano. Atha puratthim±ya cepi dis±ya ±gaccheyya bhus± v±tavuµµhi neva na½ saªkampeyya na sampakampeyya na sampavedheyya, atha pacchim±ya cepi dis±ya ±gaccheyya bhus± v±tavuµµhi…pe… atha uttar±ya cepi dis±ya ±gaccheyya bhus± v±tavuµµhi… atha dakkhiº±ya cepi dis±ya ±gaccheyya bhus± v±tavuµµhi neva na½ saªkampeyya na sampakampeyya na sampavedheyya; evameva½ kho, bhante, eva½ samm±vimuttacittassa bhikkhuno bhus± cepi cakkhuviññeyy± r³p± cakkhussa ±p±tha½ ±gacchanti, nevassa citta½ pariy±diyanti. Amiss²katamevassa citta½ hoti µhita½ ±neñjappatta½ vayañcass±nupassati. Bhus± cepi sotaviññeyy± sadd±…pe… gh±naviññeyy± gandh±… jivh±viññeyy± ras±… k±yaviññeyy± phoµµhabb±… manoviññeyy± dhamm± manassa ±p±tha½ ±gacchanti, nevassa citta½ pariy±diyanti. Amiss²katamevassa citta½ hoti µhita½ ±neñjappatta½ vayañcass±nupassat²”ti.
“Nekkhamma½ adhimuttassa, pavivekañca cetaso;
aby±pajj±dhimuttassa, up±d±nakkhayassa ca.
“Taºh±kkhay±dhimuttassa asammohañca cetaso;
disv± ±yatanupp±da½, samm± citta½ vimuccati.
“Tassa samm± vimuttassa, santacittassa bhikkhuno;
katassa paµicayo natthi, karaº²ya½ na vijjati.
“Selo yath± ekagghano, v±tena na sam²rati;
eva½ r³p± ras± sadd±, gandh± phass± ca keval±.
“Iµµh± dhamm± aniµµh± ca, nappavedhenti t±dino;
µhita½ citta½ vippamutta½ [vimutañca (ka.) mah±va. 244; kath±. 266], vayañcass±nupassat²”ti. Paµhama½.
