1. N±gasutta½

43. Eka½ samaya½ bhagav± s±vatthiya½ viharati jetavane an±thapiº¹ikassa ±r±me. Atha kho bhagav± pubbaºhasamaya½ niv±setv± pattac²varam±d±ya s±vatthiya½ piº¹±ya p±visi. S±vatthiya½ piº¹±ya caritv± pacch±bhatta½ piº¹ap±tapaµikkanto ±yasmanta½ ±nanda½ ±mantesi– “±y±m±nanda yena pubb±r±mo mig±ram±tup±s±do tenupasaªkamiss±ma div±vih±r±y±”ti. “Eva½, bhante”ti kho ±yasm± ±nando bhagavato paccassosi.
Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmat± ±nandena saddhi½ yena pubb±r±mo mig±ram±tup±s±do tenupasaªkami. Atha kho bhagav± s±yanhasamaya½ paµisall±n± vuµµhito ±yasmanta½ ±nanda½ ±mantesi– “±y±m±nanda, yena pubbakoµµhako tenupasaªkamiss±ma gatt±ni parisiñcitun”ti. “Eva½, bhante”ti kho ±yasm± ±nando bhagavato paccassosi. Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmat± ±nandena saddhi½ yena pubbakoµµhako tenupasaªkami gatt±ni parisiñcitu½. Pubbakoµµhake gatt±ni parisiñcitv± paccuttaritv± ekac²varo aµµh±si gatt±ni pubb±payam±no.
Tena kho pana samayena rañño pasenadissa kosalassa seto n±ma n±go mah±t³riya [mah±turiya (s². sy±. ka½. p².)] t±¼itav±ditena pubbakoµµhak± paccuttarati. Apissu ta½ jano disv± evam±ha– “abhir³po vata, bho, rañño n±go; dassan²yo vata, bho, rañño n±go; p±s±diko vata, bho, rañño n±go; k±yupapanno vata, bho, rañño n±go”ti! Eva½ vutte ±yasm± ud±y² bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “hatthimeva nu kho, bhante, mahanta½ brahanta½ [mahanta½ bruhanta½ (s².), mahatta½ brahmatta½ (ka.)] k±yupapanna½ jano disv± evam±ha– ‘n±go vata, bho, n±go’ti, ud±hu aññampi kañci [kiñci (ka.)] mahanta½ brahanta½ k±yupapanna½ jano disv± evam±ha– ‘n±go vata, bho, n±go”’ti? “Hatthimpi kho, ud±yi, mahanta½ brahanta½ k±yupapanna½ jano disv± evam±ha– ‘n±go vata, bho, n±go’ti! Assampi kho, ud±yi, mahanta½ brahanta½…pe… goºampi kho, ud±yi mahanta½ brahanta½…pe… uragampi [n±gampi (ka.)] kho, ud±yi, mahanta½ brahanta½…pe… rukkhampi kho, ud±yi mahanta½ brahanta½…pe… manussampi kho, ud±yi, mahanta½ brahanta½ k±yupapanna½ jano disv± evam±ha– ‘n±go vata, bho, n±go’ti! Api ca, ud±yi, yo sadevake loke sam±rake sabrahmake sassamaºabr±hmaºiy± paj±ya sadevamanuss±ya ±gu½ na karoti k±yena v±c±ya manas±, tamaha½ ‘n±go’ti br³m²”ti.
“Acchariya½, bhante, abbhuta½, bhante! Y±va subh±sita½ cida½, bhante, bhagavat±– api ca, ud±yi, yo sadevake loke sam±rake sabrahmake sassamaºabr±hmaºiy± paj±ya sadevamanuss±ya ±gu½ na karoti k±yena v±c±ya manas±, tamaha½ ‘n±go’ti br³m²”ti. Idañca pan±ha½, bhante, bhagavat± subh±sita½ im±hi g±th±hi anumod±mi–
“Manussabh³ta½ sambuddha½, attadanta½ sam±hita½;
iriyam±na½ brahmapathe, cittass³pasame rata½.
“Ya½ manuss± namassanti, sabbadhamm±na p±ragu½;
dev±pi ta½ [na½ (s². p².)] namassanti, iti me arahato suta½.
“Sabbasa½yojan±t²ta½, van± nibbana [nibb±na (s². sy±. ka½. p².)] m±gata½;
k±mehi nekkhammarata½ [nekkhamme rata½ (ka. s².)], mutta½ sel±va kañcana½.
“Sabbe accaruc² n±go, himav±ññe siluccaye;
sabbesa½ n±gan±m±na½, saccan±mo anuttaro.
“N±ga½ vo [te (ka.)] kittayiss±mi, na hi ±gu½ karoti so;
soracca½ avihi½s± ca, p±d± n±gassa te duve.
“Tapo ca brahmacariya½, caraº± n±gassa ty±pare;
saddh±hattho mah±n±go, upekkh±setadantav±.
“Sati g²v± siro paññ±, v²ma½s± dhammacintan±;
dhammakucchisam±tapo, viveko tassa v±ladhi.
“So jh±y² ass±sarato, ajjhatta½ susam±hito [ajjhattupasam±hito (sy±. ka.)];
gaccha½ sam±hito n±go, µhito n±go sam±hito.
“Seyya½ sam±hito n±go, nisinnopi sam±hito;
sabbattha sa½vuto n±go, es± n±gassa sampad±.
“Bhuñjati anavajj±ni, s±vajj±ni na bhuñjati;
gh±samacch±dana½ laddh±, sannidhi½ parivajjaya½.
“Sa½yojana½ aºu½ th³la½, sabba½ chetv±na bandhana½;
yena yeneva gacchati, anapekkhova gacchati.
“Yath±pi udake j±ta½, puº¹ar²ka½ pava¹¹hati;
nupalippati [na upalippati (s². sy±. ka½. p².), nupalimpati (ka.)] toyena, sucigandha½ manorama½.
“Tatheva loke suj±to, buddho loke viharati;
nupalippati lokena, toyena paduma½ yath±.
“Mah±gin²va jalito [mah±ggini pajjalito (s². sy±. ka½.)], an±h±r³pasammati;
saªkh±res³pasantesu [aªg±resu ca santesu (ka.)], nibbutoti pavuccati.
“Atthass±ya½ viññ±pan², upam± viññ³hi desit±;
viññassanti [viññissanti (ka.)] mah±n±g±, n±ga½ n±gena desita½.
“V²tar±go v²tadoso, v²tamoho an±savo;
sar²ra½ vijaha½ n±go, parinibbissati [parinibb±ti (p². ka.)] an±savo”ti. Paµhama½.
