So tasmi½ saªg±me ussahati v±yamati. Tamena½ ussahanta½ v±yamanta½ pare hananti pariy±p±denti. Evar³popi, bhikkhave, idhekacco yodh±j²vo hoti. Aya½, bhikkhave, paµhamo yodh±j²vo santo sa½vijjam±no lokasmi½.

Tamena½ ussahanta½ v±yamanta½ pare upalikkhanti [upalikhanti (ka.)], tamena½ apanenti; apanetv± ñ±tak±na½ nenti. So ñ±takehi n²yam±no appatv±va ñ±take antar±magge k±la½ karoti. Evar³popi, bhikkhave, idhekacco yodh±j²vo hoti. Aya½, bhikkhave, pañcamo yodh±j²vo santo sa½vijjam±no lokasmi½. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca yodh±j²v± santo sa½vijjam±n± lokasmi½.
“Evameva½ kho, bhikkhave, pañcime yodh±j²v³pam± puggal± santo sa½vijjam±n± bhikkh³su. Katame pañca? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu aññatara½ g±ma½ v± nigama½ v± upaniss±ya viharati. So pubbaºhasamaya½ niv±setv± pattac²varam±d±ya tameva g±ma½ v± nigama½ v± piº¹±ya pavisati arakkhiteneva k±yena arakkhit±ya v±c±ya arakkhitena cittena anupaµµhit±ya satiy± asa½vutehi indriyehi. So tattha passati m±tug±ma½ dunnivattha½ v± dupp±ruta½ v±. Tassa ta½ m±tug±ma½ disv± dunnivattha½ v± dupp±ruta½ v± r±go citta½ anuddha½seti. So r±g±nuddha½sitena cittena sikkha½ apaccakkh±ya dubbalya½ an±vikatv± methuna½ dhamma½ paµisevati.
“Seyyath±pi so, bhikkhave, yodh±j²vo asicamma½ gahetv± dhanukal±pa½ sannayhitv± viy³¼ha½ saªg±ma½ otarati, so tasmi½ saªg±me ussahati v±yamati, tamena½ ussahanta½ v±yamanta½ pare hananti pariy±p±denti; tath³pam±ha½, bhikkhave, ima½ puggala½ vad±mi. So ±r±ma½ gacchanto appatv±va ±r±ma½ antar±magge sikkh±dubbalya½ ±vikatv± sikkha½ paccakkh±ya h²n±y±vattati.

“So sabrahmac±r²hi eva½ ovadiyam±no eva½ anus±siyam±no evam±ha– ‘kiñc±pi, ±vuso, appass±d± k±m± vutt± bhagavat± bahudukkh± bahup±y±s±, ±d²navo ettha bhiyyo; atha kho nev±ha½ sakkomi brahmacariya½ sandh±retu½, sikkh±dubbalya½ ±vikatv± sikkha½ paccakkh±ya h²n±y±vattiss±m²”’ti. So sikkh±dubbalya½ ±vikatv± sikkha½ paccakkh±ya h²n±y±vattati.

Yatv±dhikaraºamena½ cakkhundriya½ asa½vuta½ viharanta½ abhijjh±domanass± p±pak± akusal± dhamm± anv±ssaveyyu½, tassa sa½var±ya paµipajjati; rakkhati cakkhundriya½; cakkhundriye sa½vara½ ±pajjati. Sotena sadda½ sutv±… gh±nena gandha½ gh±yitv± jivh±ya rasa½ s±yitv±… k±yena phoµµhabba½ phusitv±… manas± dhamma½ viññ±ya na nimittagg±h² hoti n±nubyañjanagg±h². Yatv±dhikaraºamena½ manindriya½ asa½vuta½ viharanta½ abhijjh±domanass± p±pak± akusal± dhamm± anv±ssaveyyu½, tassa sa½var±ya paµipajjati; rakkhati manindriya½; manindriye sa½vara½ ±pajjati. So pacch±bhatta½ piº¹ap±tapaµikkanto vivitta½ sen±sana½ bhajati arañña½ rukkham³la½ pabbata½ kandara½ giriguha½ sus±na½ vanapattha½ abbhok±sa½ pal±lapuñja½. So araññagato v± rukkham³lagato v± suññ±g±ragato v± nis²dati pallaªka½ ±bhujitv± uju½ k±ya½ paºidh±ya parimukha½ sati½ upaµµhapetv±. So abhijjha½ loke pah±ya…pe… so ime pañca n²varaºe pah±ya cetaso upakkilese paññ±ya dubbal²karaºe vivicceva k±mehi…pe… catuttha½ jh±na½ upasampajja viharati.
“So eva½ sam±hite citte parisuddhe pariyod±te anaªgaºe vigat³pakkilese mudubh³te kammaniye µhite ±neñjappatte ±sav±na½ khayañ±º±ya citta½ abhininn±meti. So ‘ida½ dukkhan’ti yath±bh³ta½ paj±n±ti…pe… n±para½ itthatt±y±ti paj±n±ti”.
