1. Sumanasutta½

31. Eka½ samaya½…pe… an±thapiº¹ikassa ±r±me. Atha kho suman± r±jakum±r² pañcahi rathasatehi pañcahi r±jakum±risatehi parivut± yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinn± kho suman± r±jakum±r² bhagavanta½ etadavoca–
“Idhassu, bhante, bhagavato dve s±vak± samasaddh± samas²l± samapaññ±– eko d±yako, eko ad±yako. Te k±yassa bhed± para½ maraº± sugati½ sagga½ loka½ upapajjeyyu½. Devabh³t±na½ pana nesa½ [tesa½ (s².)], bhante, siy± viseso, siy± n±n±karaºan”ti?
“Siy±, sumane”ti bhagav± avoca– “yo so, sumane, d±yako so amu½ ad±yaka½ devabh³to sam±no pañcahi µh±nehi adhigaºh±ti– dibbena ±yun±, dibbena vaººena, dibbena sukhena, dibbena yasena, dibbena ±dhipateyyena. Yo so, sumane, d±yako so amu½ ad±yaka½ devabh³to sam±no imehi pañcahi µh±nehi adhigaºh±ti”.
“Sace pana te, bhante, tato cut± itthatta½ ±gacchanti, manussabh³t±na½ pana nesa½, bhante, siy± viseso, siy± n±n±karaºan”ti? “Siy±, sumane”ti bhagav± avoca– “yo so, sumane, d±yako so amu½ ad±yaka½ manussabh³to sam±no pañcahi µh±nehi adhigaºh±ti– m±nusakena ±yun±, m±nusakena vaººena, m±nusakena sukhena, m±nusakena yasena, m±nusakena ±dhipateyyena. Yo so, sumane, d±yako so amu½ ad±yaka½ manussabh³to sam±no imehi pañcahi µh±nehi adhigaºh±ti”.
“Sace pana te, bhante, ubho ag±rasm± anag±riya½ pabbajanti, pabbajit±na½ pana nesa½, bhante siy± viseso, siy± n±n±karaºan”ti? “Siy±, sumane”ti bhagav± avoca– “yo so, sumane, d±yako so amu½ ad±yaka½ pabbajito sam±no pañcahi µh±nehi adhigaºh±ti– y±citova bahula½ c²vara½ paribhuñjati appa½ ay±cito, y±citova bahula½ piº¹ap±ta½ paribhuñjati appa½ ay±cito, y±citova bahula½ sen±sana½ paribhuñjati appa½ ay±cito, y±citova bahula½ gil±nappaccayabhesajjaparikkh±ra½ paribhuñjati appa½ ay±cito. Yehi kho pana sabrahmac±r²hi saddhi½ viharati tyassa man±peneva bahula½ k±yakammena samud±caranti appa½ aman±pena, man±peneva bahula½ vac²kammena samud±caranti appa½ aman±pena, man±peneva bahula½ manokammena samud±caranti appa½ aman±pena, man±pa½yeva bahula½ upah±ra½ upaharanti appa½ aman±pa½ Yo so, sumane, d±yako so amu½ ad±yaka½ pabbajito sam±no imehi pañcahi µh±nehi adhigaºh±t²”ti.
“Sace pana te, bhante, ubho arahatta½ p±puºanti, arahattappatt±na½ pana nesa½, bhante, siy± viseso, siy± n±n±karaºan”ti? “Ettha kho panes±ha½, sumane, na kiñci n±n±karaºa½ vad±mi, yadida½ vimuttiy± vimuttin”ti [vimuttanti (sy±. ka½.)].
“Acchariya½, bhante, abbhuta½, bhante! Y±vañcida½, bhante, alameva d±n±ni d±tu½ ala½ puññ±ni k±tu½; yatra hi n±ma devabh³tass±pi upak±r±ni puññ±ni, manussabh³tass±pi upak±r±ni puññ±ni, pabbajitass±pi upak±r±ni puññ±n²”ti. “Evameta½, sumane! Alañhi, sumane, d±n±ni d±tu½ ala½ puññ±ni k±tu½! Devabh³tass±pi upak±r±ni puññ±ni, manussabh³tass±pi upak±r±ni puññ±ni, pabbajitass±pi upak±r±ni puññ±n²”ti
Idamavoca bhagav±. Ida½ vatv±na [ida½ vatv± (s². p².) evamuparipi] sugato ath±para½ etadavoca satth±–
“Yath±pi cando vimalo, gaccha½ ±k±sadh±tuy±;
sabbe t±r±gaºe loke, ±bh±ya atirocati.
“Tatheva s²lasampanno, saddho purisapuggalo;
sabbe maccharino loke, c±gena atirocati.
“Yath±pi megho thanaya½, vijjum±l² satakkaku;
thala½ ninnañca p³reti, abhivassa½ vasundhara½.
“Eva½ dassanasampanno, samm±sambuddhas±vako;
macchari½ adhigaºh±ti, pañcaµh±nehi paº¹ito.
“¾yun± yasas± ceva [±yun± ca yasena ca (ka.)], vaººena ca sukhena ca;
sa ve bhogapariby³¼ho [bhogaparibb³¼ho (s².)], pecca sagge pamodat²”ti. Paµhama½.
