Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmanta½ s±riputta½ ±mantesi– “ya½ kañci [ya½ kiñci (s². p².)], s±riputta, j±neyy±tha gihi½ od±tavasana½ pañcasu sikkh±padesu sa½vutakammanta½ catunna½ ±bhicetasik±na½ diµµhadhammasukhavih±r±na½ nik±mal±bhi½ akicchal±bhi½ akasiral±bhi½, so ±kaªkham±no attan±va att±na½ by±kareyya– ‘kh²ºanirayomhi kh²ºatiracch±nayoni kh²ºapettivisayo kh²º±p±yaduggativinip±to, sot±pannohamasmi avinip±tadhammo niyato sambodhipar±yaºo”’ti.

Idha, s±riputta, ariyas±vako buddhe aveccappas±dena samann±gato hoti– ‘itipi so bhagav± araha½ samm±sambuddho vijj±caraºasampanno sugato lokavid³ anuttaro purisadammas±rathi, satth± devamanuss±na½ buddho bhagav±’ti. Ayamassa paµhamo ±bhicetasiko diµµhadhammasukhavih±ro adhigato hoti avisuddhassa cittassa visuddhiy± apariyod±tassa cittassa pariyodapan±ya.
“Puna capara½, s±riputta, ariyas±vako dhamme aveccappas±dena samann±gato hoti ‘sv±kkh±to bhagavat± dhammo sandiµµhiko ak±liko ehipassiko opaneyyiko paccatta½ veditabbo viññ³h²’ti. Ayamassa dutiyo ±bhicetasiko diµµhadhammasukhavih±ro adhigato hoti avisuddhassa cittassa visuddhiy± apariyod±tassa cittassa pariyodapan±ya.
“Puna capara½, s±riputta, ariyas±vako saªghe aveccappas±dena samann±gato hoti– ‘suppaµipanno bhagavato s±vakasaªgho ujuppaµipanno bhagavato s±vakasaªgho ñ±yappaµipanno bhagavato s±vakasaªgho s±m²cippaµipanno bhagavato s±vakasaªgho, yadida½ catt±ri purisayug±ni aµµha purisapuggal± esa bhagavato s±vakasaªgho ±huneyyo p±huneyyo dakkhiºeyyo añjalikaraº²yo anuttara½ puññakkhetta½ lokass±’ti. “Puna capara½, s±riputta, ariyas±vako ariyakantehi s²lehi samann±gato hoti akhaº¹ehi acchiddehi asabalehi akamm±sehi bhujissehi viññuppasatthehi apar±maµµhehi sam±dhisa½vattanikehi. Ayamassa catuttho ±bhicetasiko diµµhadhammasukhavih±ro adhigato hoti avisuddhassa cittassa visuddhiy± apariyod±tassa cittassa pariyodapan±ya. Imesa½ catunna½ ±bhicetasik±na½ diµµhadhammasukhavih±r±na½ nik±mal±bh² hoti akicchal±bh² akasiral±bh².

“Nirayesu bhaya½ disv±, p±p±ni parivajjaye;
ariyadhamma½ sam±d±ya, paº¹ito parivajjaye.
“Na hi½se p±ºabh³t±ni, vijjam±ne parakkame;
mus± ca na bhaºe j±na½, adinna½ na par±mase.
“Sehi d±rehi santuµµho, parad±rañca ±rame [n±rame (s². sy±.)];
meraya½ v±ruºi½ jantu, na pive cittamohani½.
“Anussareyya sambuddha½, dhammañc±nuvitakkaye;
aby±pajja½ [aby±pajjha½ (?) Aby±pajjha½ (ka.)] hita½ citta½, devalok±ya bh±vaye.
“Upaµµhite deyyadhamme, puññatthassa jig²sato [jigi½sato (s². sy±. ka½. p².)];
santesu paµhama½ dinn±, vipul± hoti dakkhiº±.
“Santo have pavakkh±mi, s±riputta suºohi me;
iti kaºh±su set±su, rohiº²su har²su v±.
“Kamm±s±su sar³p±su, gosu p±revat±su v±;
y±su k±suci et±su, danto j±yati puªgavo.
“Dhorayho balasampanno, kaly±ºajavanikkamo;
tameva bh±re yuñjanti, n±ssa vaººa½ parikkhare.
“Evameva½ manussesu, yasmi½ kismiñci j±tiye;
khattiye br±hmaºe vesse, sudde caº¹±lapukkuse.
“Y±su k±suci et±su, danto j±yati subbato;
dhammaµµho s²lasampanno, saccav±d² hir²mano.
“Pah²naj±timaraºo, brahmacariyassa keval²;
pannabh±ro visa½yutto, katakicco an±savo.
“P±rag³ sabbadhamm±na½, anup±d±ya nibbuto;
tasmiñca viraje khette, vipul± hoti dakkhiº±.
“B±l± ca avij±nant±, dummedh± assut±vino;
bahiddh± dadanti d±n±ni, na hi sante up±sare.
“Ye ca sante up±santi, sappaññe dh²rasammate;
saddh± ca nesa½ sugate, m³laj±t± patiµµhit±.
“Devalokañca te yanti, kule v± idha j±yare;
anupubbena nibb±na½, adhigacchanti paº¹it±”ti. Navama½.
