6. S±¼hasutta½

196. Eka½ samaya½ bhagav± ves±liya½ viharati mah±vane k³µ±g±ras±l±ya½. Atha kho s±¼ho ca licchavi abhayo ca licchavi yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami½su; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di½su. Ekamanta½ nisinno kho s±¼ho licchavi bhagavanta½ etadavoca–
“Santi, bhante, eke samaºabr±hmaº± dvayena oghassa nittharaºa½ paññapenti s²lavisuddhihetu ca tapojigucch±hetu ca. Idha, bhante, bhagav± kim±h±”ti?
“S²lavisuddhi½ kho aha½, s±¼ha, aññatara½ s±maññaªganti vad±mi. Ye te, s±¼ha, samaºabr±hmaº± tapojigucch±v±d± tapojigucch±s±r± tapojigucch±-all²n± viharanti, abhabb± te oghassa nittharaº±ya. Yepi te, s±¼ha, samaºabr±hmaº± aparisuddhak±yasam±c±r± aparisuddhavac²sam±c±r± aparisuddhamanosam±c±r± aparisuddh±j²v±, abhabb± te ñ±ºadassan±ya anuttar±ya sambodh±ya.
“Seyyath±pi, s±¼ha, puriso nadi½ tarituk±mo tiºha½ kuµh±ri½ [kudh±ri½ (ka.)] ±d±ya vana½ paviseyya. So tattha passeyya mahati½ s±lalaµµhi½ uju½ nava½ akukkuccakaj±ta½. Tamena½ m³le chindeyya; m³le chetv± agge chindeyya; agge chetv± s±kh±pal±sa½ suvisodhita½ visodheyya; s±kh±pal±sa½ suvisodhita½ visodhetv± kuµh±r²hi taccheyya; kuµh±r²hi tacchetv± v±s²hi taccheyya; v±s²hi tacchetv± lekhaºiy± likheyya; lekhaºiy± likhitv± p±s±ºagu¼ena dhoveyya [dhopeyya (s². sy±. ka½. p².)]; p±s±ºagu¼ena dhovetv± nadi½ pat±reyya.
“Ta½ ki½ maññasi, s±¼ha, bhabbo nu kho so puriso nadi½ taritun”ti? “No heta½, bhante”. “Ta½ kissa hetu”? “Asu hi, bhante, s±lalaµµhi bahiddh± suparikammakat± anto avisuddh±. Tasseta½ p±µikaªkha½– s±lalaµµhi sa½s²dissati, puriso anayabyasana½ ±pajjissat²”ti.
“Evameva½ kho, s±¼ha, ye te samaºabr±hmaº± tapojigucch±v±d± tapojigucch±s±r± tapojigucch±-all²n± viharanti, abhabb± te oghassa nittharaº±ya. Yepi te, s±¼ha, samaºabr±hmaº± aparisuddhak±yasam±c±r± aparisuddhavac²sam±c±r± aparisuddhamanosam±c±r± aparisuddh±j²v±, abhabb± te ñ±ºadassan±ya anuttar±ya sambodh±ya.
“Ye ca kho te, s±¼ha, samaºabr±hmaº± na tapojigucch±v±d± na tapojigucch±s±r± na tapojigucch±-all²n± viharanti, bhabb± te oghassa nittharaº±ya. Yepi te, s±¼ha, samaºabr±hmaº± parisuddhak±yasam±c±r± parisuddhavac²sam±c±r± parisuddhamanosam±c±r± parisuddh±j²v±, bhabb± te ñ±ºadassan±ya anuttar±ya sambodh±ya.

Tamena½ m³le chindeyya; m³le chinditv± agge chindeyya; agge chinditv± s±kh±pal±sa½ suvisodhita½ visodheyya; s±kh±pal±sa½ suvisodhita½ visodhetv± kuµh±r²hi taccheyya; kuµh±r²hi tacchetv± v±s²hi taccheyya; v±s²hi tacchetv± nikh±dana½ ±d±ya anto suvisodhita½ visodheyya; anto suvisodhita½ visodhetv± lekhaºiy± likheyya; lekhaºiy± likhitv± p±s±ºagu¼ena dhoveyya; p±s±ºagu¼ena dhovetv± n±va½ kareyya; n±va½ katv± phiy±ritta½ [piy±ritta½ (s². p².)] bandheyya; phiy±ritta½ bandhitv± nadi½ pat±reyya.
“Ta½ ki½ maññasi, s±¼ha, bhabbo nu kho so puriso nadi½ taritun”ti? “Eva½, bhante”. “Ta½ kissa hetu”? “Asu hi, bhante, s±lalaµµhi bahiddh± suparikammakat±, anto suvisuddh± n±v±kat± [suvisuddhakat± (ka.)] phiy±rittabaddh±. Tasseta½ p±µikaªkha½– ‘n±v± na sa½s²dissati, puriso sotthin± p±ra½ gamissat²”’ti.
“Evameva½ kho s±¼ha, ye te samaºabr±hmaº± na tapojigucch±v±d± na tapojigucch±s±r± na tapojigucch±-all²n± viharanti, bhabb± te oghassa nittharaº±ya. Yepi te, s±¼ha, samaºabr±hmaº± parisuddhak±yasam±c±r± parisuddhavac²sam±c±r± parisuddhamanosam±c±r± parisuddh±j²v±, bhabb± te ñ±ºadassan±ya anuttar±ya sambodh±ya. Seyyath±pi, s±¼ha, yodh±j²vo bah³ni cepi kaº¹acitrak±ni j±n±ti; atha kho so t²hi µh±nehi r±j±raho hoti r±jabhoggo, rañño aªganteva saªkha½ gacchati. Katamehi t²hi? D³rep±t² ca, akkhaºavedh² ca, mahato ca k±yassa pad±let±.
“Seyyath±pi, s±¼ha, yodh±j²vo d³rep±t²; evameva½ kho, s±¼ha, ariyas±vako samm±sam±dhi hoti. Samm±sam±dhi, s±¼ha, ariyas±vako ya½ kiñci r³pa½ at²t±n±gatapaccuppanna½ ajjhatta½ v± bahiddh± v± o¼±rika½ v± sukhuma½ v± h²na½ v± paº²ta½ v± ya½ d³re santike v± sabba½ r³pa½ ‘neta½ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso att±’ti evameta½ yath±bh³ta½ sammappaññ±ya passati. Y± k±ci vedan±…pe… y± k±ci saññ±… ye keci saªkh±r±… ya½ kiñci viññ±ºa½ at²t±n±gatapaccuppanna½ ajjhatta½ v± bahiddh± v± o¼±rika½ v± sukhuma½ v± h²na½ v± paº²ta½ v± ya½ d³re santike v±, sabba½ viññ±ºa½ ‘neta½ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso att±’ti evameta½ yath±bh³ta½ sammappaññ±ya passati.
“Seyyath±pi, s±¼ha, yodh±j²vo akkhaºavedh²; evameva½ kho, s±¼ha, ariyas±vako samm±diµµhi hoti. Samm±diµµhi s±¼ha, ariyas±vako ‘ida½ dukkhan’ti yath±bh³ta½ paj±n±ti…pe… ‘aya½ dukkhanirodhag±min² paµipad±’ti yath±bh³ta½ paj±n±ti.
“Seyyath±pi, s±¼ha, yodh±j²vo mahato k±yassa pad±let±; evameva½ kho, s±¼ha, ariyas±vako samm±vimutti hoti. Samm±vimutti, s±¼ha, ariyas±vako mahanta½ avijj±kkhandha½ pad±let²”ti. Chaµµha½.
