195. Eka½ samaya½ bhagav± sakkesu viharati kapilavatthusmi½ nigrodh±r±me. Atha kho vappo sakko nigaºµhas±vako yen±yasm± mah±moggall±no tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± ±yasmanta½ mah±moggall±na½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho vappa½ sakka½ nigaºµhas±vaka½ ±yasm± mah±moggall±no etadavoca–
“Idhassa vappa, k±yena sa½vuto v±c±ya sa½vuto manas± sa½vuto avijj±vir±g± vijjupp±d±. Passasi no tva½, vappa, ta½ µh±na½ yatonid±na½ purisa½ dukkhavedaniy± ±sav± assaveyyu½ [anv±ssaveyyu½ (ka.)] abhisampar±yan”ti? “Pass±maha½, bhante, ta½ µh±na½. Idhassa, bhante, pubbe p±pakamma½ kata½ avipakkavip±ka½. Tatonid±na½ purisa½ dukkhavedaniy± ±sav± assaveyyu½ abhisampar±yan”ti. Ayañceva kho pana ±yasmato mah±moggall±nassa vappena sakkena nigaºµhas±vakena saddhi½ antar±kath± vippakat± hoti.
Atha kho bhagav± s±yanhasamaya½ paµisall±n± vuµµhito yena upaµµh±nas±l± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± paññatte ±sane nis²di. Nisajja kho bhagav± ±yasmanta½ mah±moggall±na½ etadavoca–
“K±ya nuttha, moggall±na, etarahi kath±ya sannisinn±; k± ca pana vo antar±kath± vippakat±”ti? “Idh±ha½, bhante, vappa½ sakka½ nigaºµhas±vaka½ etadavoca½– ‘idhassa, vappa, k±yena sa½vuto v±c±ya sa½vuto manas± sa½vuto avijj±vir±g± vijjupp±d±. Passasi no tva½, vappa, ta½ µh±na½ yatonid±na½ purisa½ dukkhavedaniy± ±sav± assaveyyu½ abhisampar±yan’ti? Eva½ vutte, bhante, vappo sakko nigaºµhas±vako ma½ etadavoca– ‘pass±maha½, bhante, ta½ µh±na½. Idhassa, bhante, pubbe p±pakamma½ kata½ avipakkavip±ka½. Tatonid±na½ purisa½ dukkhavedaniy± ±sav± assaveyyu½ abhisampar±yan’ti Aya½ kho no, bhante vappena sakkena nigaºµhas±vakena saddhi½ antar±kath± vippakat±; atha bhagav± anuppatto”ti.
Atha kho bhagav± vappa½ sakka½ nigaºµhas±vaka½ etadavoca “sace me tva½, vappa, anuññeyyañceva anuj±neyy±si, paµikkositabbañca paµikkoseyy±si, yassa ca me bh±sitassa attha½ na j±neyy±si mamevettha uttari paµipuccheyy±si– ‘ida½, bhante, katha½, imassa ko attho’ti, siy± no ettha kath±sall±po”ti. “Anuññeyyañcev±ha½, bhante, bhagavato anuj±niss±mi, paµikkositabbañca paµikkosiss±mi, yassa c±ha½ bhagavato bh±sitassa attha½ na j±niss±mi bhagavanta½yevettha uttari paµipucchiss±mi– ‘ida½ bhante, katha½, imassa ko attho’ti? Hotu no ettha kath±sall±po”ti.
“Ta½ ki½ maññasi, vappa, ye k±yasam±rambhapaccay± uppajjanti ±sav± vigh±tapari¼±h±, k±yasam±rambh± paµiviratassa eva½sa te ±sav± vigh±tapari¼±h± na honti. So navañca kamma½ na karoti, pur±ºañca kamma½ phussa phuss byant²karoti, sandiµµhik± nijjar± ak±lik± ehipassik± opaneyyik± paccatta½ veditabb± viññ³hi [viññ³h²ti (s². p². ka.) sa½. ni. 4.364 passitabba½]. Passasi no tva½, vappa, ta½ µh±na½ yatonid±na½ purisa½ dukkhavedaniy± ±sav± assaveyyu½ abhisampar±yan”ti? “No heta½, bhante”.

So navañca kamma½ na karoti, pur±ºañca kamma½ phussa phussa byant²karoti. Sandiµµhik± nijjar± ak±lik± ehipassik± opaneyyik± paccatta½ veditabb± viññ³hi. So navañca kamma½ na karoti, pur±ºañca kamma½ phussa phussa byant²karoti. Sandiµµhik± nijjar± ak±lik± ehipassik± opaneyyik± paccatta½ veditabb± viññ³hi. “Eva½ samm± vimuttacittassa kho, vappa, bhikkhuno cha satatavih±r± adhigat± honti. So cakkhun± r³pa½ disv± neva sumano hoti na dummano; upekkhako viharati sato sampaj±no. Sotena sadda½ sutv±…pe… gh±nena gandha½ gh±yitv±…pe.. jivh±ya rasa½ s±yitv±…pe… k±yena phoµµhabba½ phusitv±…pe… manas± dhamma½ viññ± neva sumano hoti na dummano; upekkhako viharati sato sampaj±no. So k±yapariyantika½ vedana½ vediyam±no ‘k±yapariyantika½ vedana½ vediy±m²’ti paj±n±ti; j²vitapariyantika½ vedana½ vediyam±no ‘j²vitapariyantika½ vedana½ vediy±m²’ti paj±n±ti; ‘k±yassa bhed± uddha½ j²vitapariy±d±n± idheva sabbavedayit±ni anabhinandit±ni s²t² bhavissant²’ti paj±n±ti”.
“Seyyath±pi, vappa, th³ºa½ paµicca ch±y± paññ±yati. Atha puriso ±gaccheyya kudd±lapiµaka½ ±d±ya. So ta½ th³ºa½ m³le chindeyya; m³le chinditv± palikhaºeyya; palikhaºitv± m³l±ni uddhareyya, antamaso us²ran±¼imatt±nipi [us²ran±¼amatt±nipi (s².)]. So ta½ th³ºa½ khaº¹±khaº¹ika½ chindeyya. Khaº¹±khaº¹ika½ chetv± ph±leyya. Ph±letv± sakalika½ sakalika½ kareyya. Sakalika½ sakalika½ katv± v±t±tape visoseyya. V±t±tape visosetv± aggin± ¹aheyya. Aggin± ¹ahetv± masi½ kareyya Masi½ karitv± mah±v±te v± ophuºeyya nadiy± v± s²ghasot±ya pav±heyya. Eva½ hissa, vappa, y± th³ºa½ paµicca ch±y± s± ucchinnam³l± t±l±vatthukat± anabh±va½kat± ±yati½ anupp±dadhamm±.
“Evameva½ kho, vappa, eva½ samm± vimuttacittass bhikkhuno cha satatavih±r± adhigat± honti. So cakkhun± r³pa½ disv± neva sumano hoti na dummano; upekkhako viharati sato sampaj±no. Sotena sadda½ sutv±…pe… gh±nena gandha½ gh±yitv±…pe… jivh±ya rasa½ s±yitv±…pe… k±yena phoµµhabba½ phusitv±…pe… manas± dhamma½ viññ±ya neva sumano hoti na dummano; upekkhako viharati sato sampaj±no. So k±yapariyantika½ vedana½ vediyam±no ‘k±yapariyantika½ vedana½ vediy±m²’ti paj±n±ti; j²vitapariyantika½ vedana½ vediyam±no ‘j²vitapariyantika½ vedana½ vediy±m²’ti paj±n±ti; ‘k±yassa bhed± uddha½ j²vitapariy±d±n± idheva sabbavedayit±ni anabhinandit±ni s²t² bhavissant²’ti paj±n±ti”.
Eva½ vutte vappo sakko nigaºµhas±vako bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “seyyath±pi, bhante, puriso udayatthiko assapaºiya½ poseyya. So udayañceva n±dhigaccheyya, uttariñca kilamathassa vigh±tassa bh±g² assa. Evameva½ kho aha½, bhante, udayatthiko b±le nigaºµhe payirup±si½. Sv±ha½ udayañceva n±dhigacchi½, uttariñca kilamathassa vigh±tassa bh±g² ahosi½. Es±ha½, bhante, ajjatagge yo me b±lesu nigaºµhesu pas±do ta½ mah±v±te v± ophuº±mi nadiy± v± s²ghasot±ya pav±hemi. Abhikkanta½, bhante…pe… up±saka½ ma½, bhante bhagav± dh±retu ajjatagge p±ºupeta½ saraºa½ gatan”ti. Pañcama½.
