138. “Seyyath±pi, bhikkhave, y±ni k±nici tant±vut±na½ vatth±na½, kesakambalo tesa½ paµikiµµho akkh±yati. Kesakambalo, bhikkhave, s²te s²to, uºhe uºho, dubbaººo, duggandho, dukkhasamphasso. Evameva½ kho, bhikkhave, y±ni k±nici puthusamaºabr±hmaºav±d±na½ [samaºappav±d±na½ (s². sy±. ka½. p².)] makkhaliv±do tesa½ paµikiµµho akkh±yati.
“Makkhali, bhikkhave, moghapuriso eva½v±d² eva½diµµhi– ‘natthi kamma½, natthi kiriya½, natthi v²riyan’ti. Yepi te, bhikkhave, ahesu½ at²tamaddh±na½ arahanto samm±sambuddh±, tepi bhagavanto kammav±d± ceva ahesu½ kiriyav±d± ca v²riyav±d± ca. Tepi, bhikkhave, makkhali moghapuriso paµib±hati– ‘natthi kamma½, natthi kiriya½, natthi v²riyan’ti. Yepi te, bhikkhave, bhavissanti an±gatamaddh±na½ arahanto samm±sambuddh±, tepi bhagavanto kammav±d± ceva bhavissanti kiriyav±d± ca v²riyav±d± ca. Tepi, bhikkhave, makkhali moghapuriso paµib±hati– ‘natthi kamma½, natthi kiriya½, natthi v²riyan’ti. Ahampi, bhikkhave, etarahi araha½ samm±sambuddho kammav±do ceva kiriyav±do ca v²riyav±do ca. Mampi, bhikkhave, makkhali moghapuriso paµib±hati– ‘natthi kamma½, natthi kiriya½, natthi v²riya”n’ti.
“Seyyath±pi bhikkhave, nad²mukhe khippa½ u¹¹eyya [o¹¹eyya (s².)] bah³na½ [bahunna½ (s². sy±. ka½. p².)] macch±na½ ahit±ya dukkh±ya anay±ya byasan±ya; evameva½ kho, bhikkhave, makkhali moghapuriso manussakhippa½ maññe loke uppanno bah³na½ satt±na½ ahit±ya dukkh±ya anay±ya byasan±y±”ti. Pañcama½.
