127. Eka½ samaya½ bhagav± kosalesu c±rika½ caram±no yena kapilavatthu tadavasari. Assosi kho mah±n±mo sakko– “bhagav± kira kapilavatthu½ anuppatto”ti. Atha kho mah±n±mo sakko yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ aµµh±si. Ekamanta½ µhita½ kho mah±n±ma½ sakka½ bhagav± etadavoca–
“Gaccha, mah±n±ma, kapilavatthusmi½, tath±r³pa½ ±vasatha½ j±na yatthajja maya½ ekaratti½ vihareyy±m±”ti. “Eva½ bhante”ti kho mah±n±mo sakko bhagavato paµissutv± kapilavatthu½ pavisitv± kevalakappa½ kapilavatthu½ anv±hiº¹anto [±hiº¹anto (sy±. ka½.)] n±ddasa kapilavatthusmi½ tath±r³pa½ ±vasatha½ yatthajja bhagav± ekaratti½ vihareyya.
Atha kho mah±n±mo sakko yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “natthi, bhante, kapilavatthusmi½ tath±r³po ±vasatho yatthajja bhagav± ekaratti½ vihareyya. Aya½, bhante, bharaº¹u k±l±mo bhagavato pur±ºasabrahmac±r². Tassajja bhagav± assame ekaratti½ viharat³”ti. “Gaccha, mah±n±ma, santhara½ paññapeh²”ti. “Eva½, bhante”ti kho mah±n±mo sakko bhagavato paµissutv± yena bharaº¹ussa k±l±massa assamo tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± santhara½ paññ±petv± udaka½ µhapetv± p±d±na½ dhovan±ya yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “santhato, bhante, santh±ro, udaka½ µhapita½ p±d±na½ dhovan±ya. Yassad±ni, bhante, bhagav± k±la½ maññat²”ti.
Atha kho bhagav± yena bharaº¹ussa k±l±massa assamo tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± paññatte ±sane nis²di. Nisajja kho bhagav± p±de pakkh±lesi. Atha kho mah±n±massa sakkassa etadahosi– “ak±lo kho ajja bhagavanta½ payirup±situ½. Kilanto bhagav±. Sve d±n±ha½ bhagavanta½ payirup±siss±m²”ti bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± padakkhiºa½ katv± pakk±mi.
Atha kho mah±n±mo sakko tass± rattiy± accayena yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho mah±n±ma½ sakka½ bhagav± etadavoca– “tayo khome, mah±n±ma, satth±ro santo sa½vijjam±n± lokasmi½. Katame tayo? Idha, mah±n±ma, ekacco satth± k±m±na½ pariñña½ paññ±peti; na r³p±na½ pariñña½ paññ±peti, na vedan±na½ pariñña½ paññ±peti. Idha pana, mah±n±ma, ekacco satth± k±m±na½ pariñña½ paññ±peti r³p±na½ pariñña½ paññ±peti; na vedan±na½ pariñña½ paññ±peti. Idha pana, mah±n±ma, ekacco satth± k±m±na½ pariñña½ paññ±peti, r³p±na½ pariñña½ paññ±peti, vedan±na½ pariñña½ paññ±peti. Ime kho, mah±n±ma, tayo satth±ro santo sa½vijjam±n± lokasmi½. ‘Imesa½, mah±n±ma, tiººa½ satth±r±na½ ek± niµµh± ud±hu puthu niµµh±”’ti?

Dutiyampi kho bharaº¹u k±l±mo mah±n±ma½ sakka½ etadavoca– “ek±ti, mah±n±ma, vadeh²”ti. Dutiyampi kho bhagav± mah±n±ma½ sakka½ etadavoca– “n±n±ti, mah±n±ma, vadeh²”ti. Tatiyampi kho bharaº¹u k±l±mo mah±n±ma½ sakka½ etadavoca– “ek±ti, mah±n±ma vadeh²”ti. Tatiyampi kho bhagav± mah±n±ma½ sakka½ etadavoca– “n±n±ti, mah±n±ma, vadeh²”ti.
Atha kho bharaº¹u k±l±massa etadahosi– “mahesakkhassa vatamhi mah±n±massa sakkassa sammukh± samaºena gotamena y±vatatiya½ apas±dito. Ya½n³n±ha½ kapilavatthumh± pakkameyyan”ti. Atha kho bharaº¹u k±l±mo kapilavatthumh± pakk±mi. Ya½ kapilavatthumh± pakk±mi tath± pakkantova ahosi na puna pacc±gacch²ti. Catuttha½.
