Ta½ imasmi½yeva attabh±ve vip±ka½ deti k±kava¼iyapuŗŗaseµµh²na½ viya kusala½, nandayakkhanandam±ŗavakanandagogh±takakok±liyasuppabuddhadevadattacińcam±ŗavik±na½ viya ca akusala½. Tath± asakkonta½ pana ahosikamma½ n±ma hoti, avip±ka½ sampajjati. Ta½ migaluddakopam±ya s±dhetabba½. Yath± hi migaluddakena miga½ disv± dhanu½ ±ka¹¹hitv± khitto saro sace na virajjhati, ta½ miga½ tattheva p±teti, atha na½ migaluddako niccamma½ katv± khaŗ¹±khaŗ¹ika½ chetv± ma½sa½ ±d±ya puttad±ra½ tosento gacchati. Sace pana virajjhati, migo pal±yitv± puna ta½ disa½ na oloketi. Eva½ sampadamida½ daµµhabba½. Sarassa avirajjhitv± migavijjhana½ viya hi diµµhadhammavedan²yassa kammassa vip±kav±rapaµil±bho, avijjhana½ viya avip±kabh±v±ya sampajjananti.

Pańcannampi ±nantariy±na½ katt± ekena kammena niraye nibbattati, sesasam±pattiyo ca kamm±ni ca ahosikammabh±va½yeva ±pajjanti, avip±k±ni honti. Ayampi attho purima-upam±yayeva d²petabbo.
Ubhinna½ antare pana pańcajavanacetan± aparapariy±yavedan²yakamma½ n±ma. Ta½ an±gate yad± ok±sa½ labhati, tad± vip±ka½ deti. Sati sa½s±rappavattiy± ahosikamma½ n±ma na hoti. Ta½ sabba½ sunakhaluddakena d²petabba½. Yath± hi sunakhaluddakena miga½ disv± sunakho vissajjito miga½ anubandhitv± yasmi½ µh±ne p±puŗ±ti, tasmi½ yeva ¹a½sati; evameva½ ida½ kamma½ yasmi½ µh±ne ok±sa½ labhati, tasmi½yeva vip±ka½ deti, tena mutto satto n±ma natthi.
Kusal±kusalesu pana garuk±garukesu ya½ garuka½ hoti, ta½ yaggaruka½ n±ma. Tadeta½ kusalapakkhe mahaggatakamma½, akusalapakkhe pańc±nantariyakamma½ veditabba½. Tasmi½ sati ses±ni kusal±ni v± akusal±ni v± vipaccitu½ na sakkonti, tadeva duvidhampi paµisandhi½ deti. Yath± hi s±sapappam±ŗ±pi sakkhar± v± ayagu¼ik± v± udakarahade pakkhitt± udakapiµµhe uplavitu½ na sakkoti, heµµh±va pavisati; evameva kusalepi akusalepi ya½ garuka½, tadeva gaŗhitv± gacchati.
Kusal±kusalesu pana ya½ bahula½ hoti, ta½ yabbahula½ n±ma. Ta½ d²gharatta½ laddh±sevanavasena veditabba½. Ya½ v± balavakusalakammesu somanassakara½, akusalakammesu sant±pakara½, eta½ yabbahula½ n±ma. Tadeta½ yath± n±ma dv²su mallesu yuddhabh³mi½ otiŗŗesu yo balav±, so itara½ p±tetv± gacchati; evameva itara½ dubbalakamma½ avattharitv± ya½ ±sevanavasena v± bahula½, ±sannavasena v± balava½, ta½ vip±ka½ deti, duµµhag±maŗi-abhayarańńo kamma½ viya.
So kira c³¼aŖgaŗiyayuddhe par±jito va¼ava½ ±ruyha pal±yi. Tassa c³¼upaµµh±ko tiss±macco n±ma ekakova pacchato ahosi. Bh±tika tissa, yato paµµh±ya aha½ att±na½ sar±mi, na me ayy±na½ adatv± ±h±ro paribhuttapubbo atthi, sv±ha½ ajjapi adatv± na paribhuńjiss±m²ti. So catt±ro koµµh±se ak±si. R±j± “k±la½ ghoseh²”ti ±ha. Cha¹¹it±rańńe kuto, ayye, labhiss±ma dev±ti “N±ya½ tava bh±ro. Sace mama saddh± atthi, ayye, labhiss±ma, vissattho k±la½ ghoseh²”ti ±ha. So “k±lo, bhante, k±lo, bhante”ti tikkhattu½ ghosesi.

R±j±pi cintesi– “ativiyamh± jighacchit±, s±dhu vatassa sace atirekabhattasitth±ni pahiŗeyy±”ti. Thero rańńo citta½ ńatv± atirekabhatta½ etesa½ y±panamatta½ katv± patta½ ±k±se khipi, patto ±gantv± rańńo hatthe patiµµh±si. Bhatta½ tiŗŗampi jan±na½ y±vadattha½ ahosi. Atha r±j± patta½ dhovitv± “tucchapatta½ na pesiss±m²”ti uttaris±µaka½ mocetv± udaka½ puńchitv± s±µaka½ patte µhapetv± “patto gantv± mama ayyassa hatthe patiµµh±t³”ti ±k±se khipi. Patto gantv± therassa hatthe patiµµh±si.
Aparabh±ge rańńo tath±gatassa sar²radh±t³na½ aµµhamabh±ga½ patiµµh±petv± v²saratanasatika½ mah±cetiya½ k±rentassa apariniµµhiteyeva cetiye k±lakiriy±samayo anuppatto. Tadeta½ yath± n±ma gogaŗaparipuŗŗassa vajassa dv±re vivaµe parabh±ge dammagavabalavagavesu santesupi yo vajadv±rassa ±sanno hoti antamaso dubbalajaraggavopi, so eva paµhamatara½ nikkhamati, evameva ańńesu kusal±kusalesu santesupi maraŗak±lassa ±sannatt± vip±ka½ deti.
Tatrim±ni vatth³ni– madhu-aŖgaŗag±me kira eko dami¼adov±riko p±tova ba¼isa½ ±d±ya gantv± macche vadhitv± tayo koµµh±se katv± ekena taŗ¹ula½ gaŗh±ti, ekena dadhi½, eka½ pacati. Imin± n²h±rena pańń±sa vass±ni p±ŗ±tip±takamma½ katv± aparabh±ge mahallako anuµµh±naseyya½ upagacchati. Tasmi½ khaŗe girivih±rav±s² c³¼apiŗ¹ap±tikatissatthero “m± aya½ satto mayi passante nassat³”ti gantv± tassa gehadv±re aµµh±si. Athassa bhariy±, “s±mi, thero ±gato”ti ±rocesi. Aha½ pańń±sa vass±ni therassa santika½ na gatapubbo, katarena me guŗena thero ±gamissati, gacch±ti na½ vadath±ti. S± “aticchatha, bhante”ti ±ha. Thero “up±sakassa k± sar²rappavatt²”ti pucchi. Tassa pańca s²l±n²ti vacanak±leyeva jivh± papati. Thero “vaµµissati ettakan”ti nikkhamitv± gato. Sopi k±la½ katv± c±tumah±r±jikabhavane nibbatti. Nibbattakkhaŗeyeva ca “ki½ nu kho kamma½ katv± may± ida½ laddhan”ti ±vajjento thera½ niss±ya laddhabh±va½ ńatv± devalokato ±gantv± thera½ vanditv± ekamanta½ aµµh±si. “Ko eso”ti ca vutte “aha½, bhante, dami¼adov±riko”ti ±ha. Kuhi½ nibbattos²ti? C±tumah±r±jikesu, bhante, sace me ayyo pańca s²l±ni adassa, upari devaloke nibbatto assa½. Aha½ ki½ kariss±mi, tva½ gaŗhitu½ n±sakkhi, puttak±ti. So thera½ vanditv± devalokameva gato. Ida½ t±va kusalakamme vatthu.
AntaragaŖg±ya pana mah±v±cak±la-up±sako n±ma ahosi. So ti½sa vass±ni sot±pattimaggatth±ya dvatti½s±k±ra½ sajjh±yitv± “aha½ eva½ dvatti½s±k±ra½ sajjh±yanto obh±samattampi nibbattetu½ n±sakkhi½, buddhas±sana½ aniyy±nika½ bhavissat²”ti diµµhivipall±sa½ patv± k±lakiriya½ katv± mah±gaŖg±ya nava-usabhiko susum±rapeto hutv± nibbatti. Eka½ samaya½ kacchakatitthena saµµhi p±s±ŗatthambhasakaµ±ni agama½su. So sabbepi te goŗe ca p±s±ŗe ca kh±di. Ida½ akusalakamme vatthu.
