Ito paµµh±ya ±¼avakayuddha½ vitth±retabbanti so kira manosil±tale v±map±dena µhatv± “passatha d±ni tumh±ka½ v± satth± mah±nubh±vo, aha½ v±”ti dakkhiŗap±dena saµµhiyojanamatta½ kel±sak³µapabbata½ akkami, ta½ ayok³µappahato viya niddhanta-ayapiŗ¹o papaµik±yo muńci. So tatra µhatv± “aha½ ±¼avako”ti ugghosesi, sakalajambud²pa½ saddo phari. Tiyojanasahassavitthatahimav±pi sampakampi yakkhass±nubh±vena. So v±tamaŗ¹ala½ samuµµh±pesi “eteneva samaŗa½ pal±pess±m²”ti. Te puratthim±dibhed± v±t± samuµµhahitv± a¹¹hayojanayojanadviyojanatiyojanappam±ŗ±ni pabbatak³µ±ni pad±letv± vanagaccharukkh±d²ni umm³letv± ±¼avinagara½ pakkhand± jiŗŗahatthis±l±d²ni cuŗŗent± chadaniµµhak± ±k±se bhament±. Bhagav± “m± kassaci uparodho hot³”ti adhiµµh±si. Te v±t± dasabala½ patv± c²varakaŗŗamattampi c±letu½ n±sakkhi½su. Tato mah±vassa½ samuµµh±pesi “udakena ajjhottharitv± samaŗa½ m±ress±m²”ti. Te bh³tagaŗ± anekappak±ravik±re katv± “gaŗhatha hanath±”ti bhagavato upari ±gacchant± viya ca honti. Apica kho niddhantalohapiŗ¹a½ viya makkhik± bhagavanta½ all²yitumasamatth± eva ahesu½.
Eva½ sabbaratti½ anekappak±ravibhi½s±k±radassanenapi bhagavanta½ c±letumasakkonto ±¼avako cintesi– “ya½n³n±ha½ kenaci ajeyya½ duss±vudha½ muńceyyan”ti. Sace hi so duµµho ±k±se ta½ duss±vudha½ muńceyya, dv±dasa vass±ni devo na vasseyya. Sace pathaviya½ muńceyya sabbarukkhatiŗ±d²ni sussitv± dv±dasavassantara½ na puna ruheyyu½. Sace samudde muńceyya, tattakap±le udakabindu viya sabba½ susseyya. Sace sinerupabbate muńceyya, khaŗ¹±khaŗ¹a½ hutv± vikireyya. So eva½mah±nubh±va½ duss±vudha½ uttaris±µaka½ muńcitv± aggahesi. Yebhuyyena dasasahassilokadh±tudevat± vegena sannipati½su “ajja bhagav± ±¼avaka½ damessati, tattha dhamma½ soss±m±”ti. Yuddhadassanak±m±pi devat± sannipati½su. Eva½ sakalampi ±k±sa½ devat±hi paripuŗŗa½ ahosi. Ath±¼avako bhagavato sam²pe upar³pari vicaritv± vatth±vudha½ muńci Ta½ asanicakka½ viya ±k±se bheravasadda½ karonta½ dh³m±yanta½ pajjalanta½ bhagavanta½ patv± yakkhassa m±namaddanattha½ p±dapuńchanaco¼a½ hutv± p±dam³le nipati. ¾¼avako ta½ disv± chinnavis±ŗo viya usabho, uddhaµad±µho viya sappo nittejo nimmado nip±titam±naddhajo ahosi. Evamida½ ±¼avakayuddha½ vitth±retabba½.
