254. “Assutav±, bhikkhave, puthujjano sukhampi vedana½ vedayati [vediyati (s². p².)], dukkhampi vedana½ vedayati, adukkhamasukhampi vedana½ vedayati. Sutav±, bhikkhave, ariyas±vako sukhampi vedana½ vedayati dukkhampi vedana½ vedayati, adukkhamasukhampi vedana½ vedayati. Tatra, bhikkhave, ko viseso ko adhippay±so [adhipp±yo (s². ka.), adhipp±yaso (sy±. ka½.), adhipp±yoso (p².)] ki½ n±n±karaŗa½ sutavato ariyas±vakassa assutavat± puthujjanen±”ti? Bhagava½m³lak± no, bhante, dhamm±…pe… assutav±. Bhikkhave, puthujjano dukkh±ya vedan±ya phuµµho sam±no socati kilamati paridevati uratt±¼i½ kandati sammoha½ ±pajjati. So dve vedan± vedayati– k±yikańca, cetasikańca. Seyyath±pi, bhikkhave, purisa½ sallena vijjheyya [sallena anuvijjheyyu½ (s². sy±. ka½. p².)]. Tamena½ dutiyena sallena anuvedha½ vijjheyya [sallena anuvijjheyyu½ (s².), sallena anuvedha½ vijjheyyu½ (sy±. ka½.), sallena vijjheyyu½ (p².)]. Evańhi so, bhikkhave, puriso dvisallena vedana½ vedayati. Evameva kho, bhikkhave, assutav± puthujjano dukkh±ya vedan±ya phuµµho sam±no socati kilamati paridevati uratt±¼i½ kandati sammoha½ ±pajjati. So dve vedan± vedayati– k±yikańca, cetasikańca. Tass±yeva kho pana dukkh±ya vedan±ya phuµµho sam±no paµighav± hoti. Tamena½ dukkh±ya vedan±ya paµighavanta½, yo dukkh±ya vedan±ya paµigh±nusayo, so anuseti. So dukkh±ya vedan±ya phuµµho sam±no k±masukha½ abhinandati. Ta½ kissa hetu? Na hi so, bhikkhave, paj±n±ti assutav± puthujjano ańńatra k±masukh± dukkh±ya vedan±ya nissaraŗa½, tassa k±masukhańca abhinandato, yo sukh±ya vedan±ya r±g±nusayo, so anuseti. So t±sa½ vedan±na½ samudayańca atthaŖgamańca ass±dańca ±d²navańca nissaraŗańca yath±bh³ta½ nappaj±n±ti. Tassa t±sa½ vedan±na½ samudayańca atthaŖgamańca ass±dańca ±d²navańca nissaraŗańca yath±bh³ta½ appaj±nato, yo adukkhamasukh±ya vedan±ya avijj±nusayo, so anuseti. So sukhańce vedana½ vedayati, sańńutto na½ vedayati. Dukkhańce vedana½ vedayati, sańńutto na½ vedayati. Adukkhamasukhańce vedana½ vedayati, sańńutto na½ vedayati. Aya½ vuccati, bhikkhave, ‘assutav± puthujjano sańńutto j±tiy± jar±ya maraŗena sokehi paridevehi dukkhehi domanassehi up±y±sehi, sańńutto dukkhasm±’ti vad±mi.
“Sutav± ca kho, bhikkhave, ariyas±vako dukkh±ya vedan±ya phuµµho sam±no na socati, na kilamati, na paridevati, na uratt±¼i½ kandati, na sammoha½ ±pajjati. So eka½ vedana½ vedayati– k±yika½, na cetasika½.
“Seyyath±pi bhikkhave, purisa½ sallena vijjheyya. Tamena½ dutiyena sallena anuvedha½ na vijjheyya. Evańhi so, bhikkhave, puriso ekasallena vedana½ vedayati. Evameva kho, bhikkhave, sutav± ariyas±vako dukkh±ya vedan±ya phuµµho sam±no na socati, na kilamati, na paridevati, na uratt±¼i½ kandati, na sammoha½ ±pajjati. So t±sa½ vedan±na½ samudayańca atthaŖgamańca ass±dańca ±d²nava½ ca nissaraŗańca yath±bh³ta½ paj±n±ti. Tassa t±sa½ vedan±na½ samudayańca atthaŖgamańca ass±dańca ±d²navańca nissaraŗańca yath±bh³ta½ paj±nato, yo adukkhamasukh±ya vedan±ya avijj±nusayo, so n±nuseti. So sukhańce vedana½ vedayati, visańńutto na½ vedayati. Dukkhańce vedana½ vedayati visańńutto na½ vedayati. Adukkhamasukhańce vedana½ vedayati, visańńutto na½ vedayati. Aya½ vuccati, bhikkhave, ‘sutav± ariyas±vako visańńutto j±tiy± jar±ya maraŗena sokehi paridevehi dukkhehi domanassehi up±y±sehi visańńutto dukkhasm±’ti vad±mi. Aya½ kho, bhikkhave, viseso, aya½ adhippay±so, ida½ n±n±karaŗa½ sutavato ariyas±vakassa assutavat± puthujjanen±”ti.
“Na vedana½ vedayati sapańńo,
sukhampi dukkhampi bahussutopi;
ayańca dh²rassa puthujjanena,
mah± [aya½ (sy±. ka½. ka.)] viseso kusalassa hoti.
“SaŖkh±tadhammassa bahussutassa,
vipassato [sampassato (s². p².)] lokamima½ parańca;
iµµhassa dhamm± na mathenti citta½,
aniµµhato no paµigh±tameti.
“Tass±nurodh± athav± virodh±,
vidh³pit± atthagat± na santi;
padańca ńatv± viraja½ asoka½,
samm± paj±n±ti bhavassa p±rag³”ti. Chaµµha½.
