252. “Assutav± bhikkhave, puthujjano ya½ v±ca½ bh±sati– ‘atthi mah±samudde p±t±lo’ti. Ta½ kho paneta½, bhikkhave, assutav± puthujjano asanta½ avijjam±na½ eva½ v±ca½ bh±sati– ‘atthi mah±samudde p±t±lo’ti. S±r²rik±na½ kho eta½, bhikkhave, dukkh±na½ vedan±na½ adhivacana½ yadida½ ‘p±t±lo’ti. Assutav±, bhikkhave, puthujjano s±r²rik±ya dukkh±ya vedan±ya phuµµho sam±no socati kilamati paridevati uratt±¼i½ kandati sammoha½ ±pajjati. Aya½ vuccati, bhikkhave, ‘assutav± puthujjano p±t±le na paccuµµh±si, g±dhańca n±jjhag±’. Sutav± ca kho, bhikkhave, ariyas±vako s±r²rik±ya dukkh±ya vedan±ya phuµµho sam±no neva socati, na kilamati, na paridevati, na uratt±¼i½ kandati, na sammoha½ ±pajjati. Aya½ vuccati, bhikkhave, ‘sutav± ariyas±vako p±t±le paccuµµh±si, g±dhańca ajjhag±”’ti.

“Akkandati parodati, dubbalo appath±mako;
na so p±t±le paccuµµh±si, atho g±dhampi n±jjhag±.
