81. Eka½ samaya½ bhagav± kosambiya½ viharati ghosit±r±me. Atha kho bhagav± pubbaºhasamaya½ niv±setv± pattac²varam±d±ya kosambi½ piº¹±ya p±visi. Kosambiya½ piº¹±ya caritv± pacch±bhatta½ piº¹ap±tapaµikkanto s±ma½ sen±sana½ sa½s±metv± pattac²varam±d±ya an±mantetv± upaµµh±ke anapaloketv± bhikkhusaªgha½ eko adutiyo c±rika½ pakk±mi.
Atha kho aññataro bhikkhu acirapakkantassa bhagavato yen±yasm± ±nando tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± ±yasmanta½ ±nanda½ etadavoca– “es±vuso, ±nanda, bhagav± s±ma½ sen±sana½ sa½s±metv± pattac²varam±d±ya an±mantetv± upaµµh±ke anapaloketv± bhikkhusaªgha½ eko adutiyo c±rika½ pakkanto”ti. “Yasmi½, ±vuso, samaye bhagav± s±ma½ sen±sana½ sa½s±metv± pattac²varam±d±ya an±mantetv± upaµµh±ke anapaloketv± bhikkhusaªgha½ eko adutiyo c±rika½ pakkamati, ekova bhagav± tasmi½ samaye viharituk±mo hoti; na bhagav± tasmi½ samaye kenaci anubandhitabbo hot²”ti.
Atha kho bhagav± anupubbena c±rika½ caram±no yena p±lileyyaka½ [p±rileyyaka½ (s². p².)] tadavasari. Tatra suda½ bhagav± p±lileyyake viharati bhaddas±lam³le. Atha kho sambahul± bhikkh³ yen±yasm± ±nando tenupasaªkami½su; upasaªkamitv± ±yasmat± ±nandena saddhi½ sammodi½su. Sammodan²ya½ katha½ s±raº²ya½ v²tis±retv± ekamanta½ nis²di½su. Ekamanta½ nisinn± kho te bhikkh³ ±yasmanta½ ±nanda½ etadavocu½– “cirassut± kho no, ±vuso ±nanda, bhagavato sammukh± dhamm² kath±; icch±ma maya½, ±vuso ±nanda, bhagavato sammukh± dhammi½ katha½ sotun”ti.
Atha kho ±yasm± ±nando tehi bhikkh³hi saddhi½ yena p±lileyyaka½ bhaddas±lam³la½ yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinne kho te bhikkh³ bhagav± dhammiy± kath±ya sandassesi sam±dapesi samuttejesi sampaha½sesi. Tena kho pana samayena aññatarassa bhikkhuno eva½ cetaso parivitakko udap±di– “katha½ nu kho j±nato katha½ passato anantar± ±sav±na½ khayo hot²”ti? Atha kho bhagav± tassa bhikkhuno cetas± cetoparivitakkamaññ±ya bhikkh³ ±mantesi– “vicayaso desito, bhikkhave, may± dhammo; vicayaso desit± catt±ro satipaµµh±n±; vicayaso desit± catt±ro sammappadh±n±; vicayaso desit± catt±ro iddhip±d±; vicayaso desit±ni pañcindriy±ni; vicayaso desit±ni pañca bal±ni; vicayaso desit± sattabojjhaªg±; vicayaso desito ariyo aµµhaªgiko maggo. Eva½ vicayaso desito, bhikkhave, may± dhammo. Eva½ vicayaso desite kho, bhikkhave, may± dhamme atha ca panidhekaccassa bhikkhuno eva½ cetaso parivitakko udap±di– ‘katha½ nu kho j±nato katha½ passato anantar± ±sav±na½ khayo hot²”’ti?
“Kathañca, bhikkhave, j±nato katha½ passato anantar± ±sav±na½ khayo hoti? Idha bhikkhave, assutav± puthujjano ariy±na½ adass±v² ariyadhammassa akovido ariyadhamme avin²to, sappuris±na½ adass±v² sappurisadhammassa akovido sappurisadhamme avin²to r³pa½ attato samanupassati. Y± kho pana s±, bhikkhave, samanupassan± saªkh±ro so. So pana saªkh±ro ki½nid±no ki½samudayo ki½j±tiko ki½pabhavo? Avijj±samphassajena, bhikkhave, vedayitena phuµµhassa assutavato puthujjanassa uppann± taºh±; tatojo so saªkh±ro. Iti kho, bhikkhave, sopi saªkh±ro anicco saªkhato paµiccasamuppanno. Y± kho pana s±, bhikkhave, sassatadiµµhi saªkh±ro so. So pana saªkh±ro ki½nid±no…pe… evampi kho, bhikkhave, j±nato eva½ passato anantar± ±sav±na½ khayo hoti.
“Na heva kho r³pa½ attato samanupassati, na vedana½ na sañña½… na saªkh±re… na viññ±ºa½ attato samanupassati; n±pi eva½diµµhi hoti– ‘so att± so loko, so pecca bhaviss±mi nicco dhuvo sassato avipariº±madhammo’ti. Api ca kho eva½diµµhi hoti– ‘no cassa½ no ca me siy± n±bhavissa½ na me bhavissat²’ti. Y± kho pana s±, bhikkhave, ucchedadiµµhi saªkh±ro so. So pana saªkh±ro ki½nid±no ki½samudayo ki½j±tiko ki½pabhavo? Avijj±samphassajena, bhikkhave, vedayitena phuµµhassa assutavato puthujjanassa uppann± taºh±; tatojo so saªkh±ro.
