80. Eka½ samaya½ bhagav± sakkesu viharati kapilavatthusmi½ nigrodh±r±me. Atha kho bhagav± kismiñcideva pakaraºe bhikkhusaªgha½ paº±metv± pubbaºhasamaya½ niv±setv± pattac²varam±d±ya kapilavatthu½ piº¹±ya p±visi. Kapilavatthusmi½ piº¹±ya caritv± pacch±bhatta½ piº¹ap±tapaµikkanto yena mah±vana½ tenupasaªkami div±vih±r±ya Mah±vana½ ajjhog±hetv± beluvalaµµhik±ya m³le div±vih±ra½ nis²di.
Atha kho bhagavato rahogatassa paµisall²nassa eva½ cetaso parivitakko udap±di– “may± kho bhikkhusaªgho pab±¼ho. Santettha bhikkh³ nav± acirapabbajit± adhun±gat± ima½ dhammavinaya½. Tesa½ mama½ apassant±na½ siy± aññathatta½ siy± vipariº±mo. Seyyath±pi n±ma vacchassa taruºassa m±tara½ apassantassa siy± aññathatta½ siy± vipariº±mo, evameva santettha bhikkh³ nav± acirapabbajit± adhun±gat± ima½ dhammavinaya½ tesa½ mama½ apassant±na½ siy± aññathatta½ siy± vipariº±mo. Seyyath±pi n±ma b²j±na½ taruº±na½ udaka½ alabhant±na½ siy± aññathatta½ siy± vipariº±mo, evameva santettha…pe… tesa½ mama½ alabhant±na½ dassan±ya siy± aññathatta½ siy± vipariº±mo. Ya½n³n±ha½ yatheva may± pubbe bhikkhusaªgho anuggahito, evameva etarahi anuggaºheyya½ bhikkhusaªghan”ti.
Atha kho brahm± sahampati bhagavato cetas± cetoparivitakkamaññ±ya– seyyath±pi n±ma balav± puriso samiñjita½ [sammiñjita½ (s². sy±. ka½. p².)] v± b±ha½ pas±reyya pas±rita½ v± b±ha½ samiñjeyya evameva– brahmaloke antarahito bhagavato purato p±turahosi. Atha kho brahm± sahampati eka½sa½ uttar±saªga½ karitv± yena bhagav± tenañjali½ paº±metv± bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “evameta½, bhagav±; evameta½, sugata Bhagavato, bhante, bhikkhusaªgho pab±¼ho. Santettha bhikkh³ nav± acirapabbajit± adhun±gat± ima½ dhammavinaya½. Tesa½ bhagavanta½ apassant±na½ siy± aññathatta½ siy± vipariº±mo. Seyyath±pi n±ma vacchassa taruºassa m±tara½ apassantassa siy± aññathatta½ siy± vipariº±mo, evameva santettha bhikkh³ nav± acirapabbajit± adhun±gat± ima½ dhammavinaya½ tesa½ bhagavanta½ apassant±na½ siy± aññathatta½ siy± vipariº±mo. Seyyath±pi n±ma b²j±na½ taruº±na½ udaka½ alabhant±na½ siy± aññathatta½ siy± vipariº±mo, evameva santettha bhikkh³ nav± acirapabbajit± adhun±gat± ima½ dhammavinaya½, tesa½ bhagavanta½ alabhant±na½ dassan±ya siy± aññathatta½ siy± vipariº±mo. Abhinandatu, bhante, bhagav± bhikkhusaªgha½; abhivadatu, bhante, bhagav± bhikkhusaªgha½. Yatheva bhagavat± pubbe bhikkhusaªgho anuggahito, evameva etarahi anuggaºh±tu bhikkhusaªghan”ti.
Adhiv±sesi bhagav± tuºh²bh±vena. Atha kho brahm± sahampati bhagavato adhiv±sana½ viditv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± padakkhiºa½ katv± tatthevantaradh±yi.
Atha kho bhagav± s±yanhasamaya½ paµisall±n± vuµµhito yena nigrodh±r±mo tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± paññatte ±sane nis²di. Nisajja kho bhagav± tath±r³pa½ iddh±bhisaªkh±ra½ abhisaªkh±si [abhisaªkh±resi (sy±. ka½.), abhisaªkh±yi (p².), abhisaªkharoti (ka.)] yath± te bhikkh³ (ekadv²hik±ya s±rajjam±nar³p± yen±ha½ [yena bhagav± (?)] Tenupasaªkameyyu½. Tepi bhikkh³ [( ) s². sy±. ka½. potthakesu natthi] ekadv²hik±ya s±rajjam±nar³p± yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami½su; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di½su. Ekamanta½ nisinne kho te bhikkh³ bhagav± etadavoca–
“Antamida½, bhikkhave, j²vik±na½ yadida½ piº¹olya½. Abhis±poya½, bhikkhave, lokasmi½ piº¹olo vicarasi pattap±º²ti. Tañca kho eta½, bhikkhave, kulaputt± upenti atthavasik±, atthavasa½ paµicca; neva r±j±bhin²t±, na cor±bhin²t±, na iºaµµ±, na bhayaµµ±, na ±j²vik±pakat±; api ca kho otiºº±mha j±tiy± jar±ya maraºena sokehi paridevehi dukkhehi domanassehi up±y±sehi dukkhotiºº± dukkhaparet± appeva n±ma imassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa antakiriy± paññ±yeth±ti.
“Eva½ pabbajito c±ya½, bhikkhave, kulaputto. So ca hoti abhijjh±lu k±mesu tibbas±r±go by±pannacitto paduµµhamanasaªkappo muµµhassati asampaj±no asam±hito vibbhantacitto p±katindriyo. Seyyath±pi, bhikkhave chav±l±ta½ ubhatopaditta½ majjhe g³thagata½, neva g±me kaµµhattha½ pharati, n±raññe kaµµhattha½ pharati. Tath³pam±ha½, bhikkhave, ima½ puggala½ vad±mi gihibhog± ca parih²no, s±maññatthañca na parip³reti.
“Tayome, bhikkhave, akusalavitakk±– k±mavitakko, by±p±davitakko, vihi½s±vitakko. Ime ca bhikkhave, tayo akusalavitakk± kva aparises± nirujjhanti? Cat³su v± satipaµµh±nesu suppatiµµhitacittassa viharato animitta½ v± sam±dhi½ bh±vayato. Y±vañcida½, bhikkhave, alameva animitto sam±dhi bh±vetu½. Animitto, bhikkhave, sam±dhi bh±vito bahul²kato mahapphalo hoti mah±nisa½so.
“Dvem±, bhikkhave, diµµhiyo– bhavadiµµhi ca vibhavadiµµhi ca. Tatra kho, bhikkhave, sutav± ariyas±vako iti paµisañcikkhati– ‘atthi nu kho ta½ kiñci lokasmi½ yamaha½ up±diyam±no na vajjav± assan’ti? So eva½ paj±n±ti– ‘natthi nu kho ta½ kiñci lokasmi½ yamaha½ up±diyam±no na vajjav± assa½. Ahañhi r³paññeva up±diyam±no up±diyeyya½ vedanaññeva… saññaññeva… saªkh±reyeva viññ±ºaññeva up±diyam±no up±diyeyya½. Tassa me assa [aya½ (ka.)] up±d±napaccay± bhavo; bhavapaccay± j±ti; j±tipaccay± jar±maraºa½ sokaparidevadukkhadomanassup±y±s± sambhaveyyu½. Evametassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa samudayo ass±”’ti.
“Ta½ ki½ maññatha, bhikkhave, r³pa½ nicca½ v± anicca½ v±”ti? “Anicca½, bhante”. “Ya½ pan±nicca½ dukkha½ v± ta½ sukha½ v±”ti? “Dukkha½, bhante”. “Ya½ pan±nicca½ dukkha½ vipariº±madhamma½ kalla½ nu ta½ samanupassitu½– ‘eta½ mama, esohamasmi, eso me att±”’ti? “No heta½, bhante”. “Vedan±… saññ±… saªkh±r±… viññ±ºa½…pe… tasm±tiha, bhikkhave, eva½ passa½… n±para½ itthatt±y±ti paj±n±t²”ti. Aµµhama½.
