Katame pañca? ‘Eva½r³po ahosi½ at²tamaddh±nan’ti– iti v± hi, bhikkhave, anussaram±no r³pa½yeva anussarati. ‘Eva½vedano ahosi½ at²tamaddh±nan’ti– iti v± hi, bhikkhave, anussaram±no vedana½yeva anussarati. ‘Eva½sañño ahosi½ at²tamaddh±nan’ti… ‘eva½saªkh±ro ahosi½ at²tamaddh±nan’ti… ‘eva½viññ±ºo ahosi½ at²tamaddh±nan’ti– iti v± hi, bhikkhave, anussaram±no viññ±ºameva anussarati”.
“Kiñca, bhikkhave, r³pa½ vadetha? Ruppat²ti kho, bhikkhave, tasm± ‘r³pan’ti vuccati. Kena ruppati? S²tenapi ruppati, uºhenapi ruppati, jighacch±yapi ruppati, pip±s±yapi ruppati, ¹a½samakasav±t±tapasar²sapasamphassenapi [… siri½sapasamphassenapi (s². p².)] ruppati. Ruppat²ti kho, bhikkhave, tasm± ‘r³pan’ti vuccati.
“Kiñca, bhikkhave, vedana½ vadetha? Vedayat²ti kho, bhikkhave, tasm± ‘vedan±’ti vuccati. Kiñca vedayati? Sukhampi vedayati, dukkhampi vedayati, adukkhamasukhampi vedayati. Vedayat²ti kho, bhikkhave, tasm± ‘vedan±’ti vuccati.
“Kiñca, bhikkhave, sañña½ vadetha? Sañj±n±t²ti kho, bhikkhave, tasm± ‘saññ±’ti vuccati. Kiñca sañj±n±ti? N²lampi sañj±n±ti, p²takampi sañj±n±ti, lohitakampi sañj±n±ti, od±tampi sañj±n±ti. Sañj±n±t²ti kho, bhikkhave, tasm± ‘saññ±’ti vuccati.
“Kiñca bhikkhave, saªkh±re vadetha? Saªkhatamabhisaªkharont²ti kho, bhikkhave, tasm± ‘saªkh±r±’ti vuccati. Kiñca saªkhatamabhisaªkharonti? R³pa½ r³patt±ya [r³patth±ya (ka.)] saªkhatamabhisaªkharonti, vedana½ vedanatt±ya saªkhatamabhisaªkharonti, sañña½ saññatt±ya saªkhatamabhisaªkharonti, saªkh±re saªkh±ratt±ya saªkhatamabhisaªkharonti, viññ±ºa½ viññ±ºatt±ya saªkhatamabhisaªkharonti. Ambilampi vij±n±ti, tittakampi vij±n±ti, kaµukampi vij±n±ti, madhurampi vij±n±ti, kh±rikampi vij±n±ti, akh±rikampi vij±n±ti, loºikampi vij±n±ti, aloºikampi vij±n±ti. Vij±n±t²ti kho, bhikkhave, tasm± ‘viññ±ºan’ti vuccati.
“Tatra, bhikkhave, sutav± ariyas±vako iti paµisañcikkhati– ‘aha½ kho etarahi r³pena khajj±mi. At²tamp±ha½ addh±na½ evameva r³pena khajji½, seyyath±pi etarahi paccuppannena r³pena khajj±mi. Ahañceva kho pana an±gata½ r³pa½ abhinandeyya½, an±gatamp±ha½ addh±na½ evameva r³pena khajjeyya½, seyyath±pi etarahi paccuppannena r³pena khajj±m²’ti. So iti paµisaªkh±ya at²tasmi½ r³pasmi½ anapekkho hoti an±gata½ r³pa½ n±bhinandati; paccuppannassa r³passa nibbid±ya vir±g±ya nirodh±ya paµipanno hoti.
“‘Aha½ kho etarahi vedan±ya khajj±mi. At²tamp±ha½ addh±na½ evameva vedan±ya khajji½, seyyath±pi etarahi paccuppann±ya vedan±ya khajj±mi. Ahañceva kho pana an±gata½ vedana½ abhinandeyya½; an±gatamp±ha½ addh±na½ evameva vedan±ya khajjeyya½, seyyath±pi etarahi paccuppann±ya vedan±ya khajj±m²’ti. So iti paµisaªkh±ya at²t±ya vedan±ya anapekkho hoti; an±gata½ vedana½ n±bhinandati; paccuppann±ya vedan±ya nibbid±ya vir±g±ya nirodh±ya paµipanno hoti.

Ahañceva kho pana an±gata½ viññ±ºa½ abhinandeyya½; an±gatamp±ha½ addh±na½ evameva viññ±ºena khajjeyya½, seyyath±pi etarahi paccuppannena viññ±ºena khajj±m²’ti. R³pa½ apacin±ti, no ±cin±ti; vedana½ sañña½… saªkh±re… viññ±ºa½ apacin±ti, no ±cin±ti. Kiñca pajahati, na up±diyati? “Aya½ vuccati, bhikkhave, bhikkhu nev±cin±ti na apacin±ti, apacinitv± µhito neva pajahati na up±diyati, pajahitv± µhito neva visineti na ussineti, visinetv± µhito neva vidh³peti na sandh³peti.
