Tatra kho bhagav± bhikkh³ ±mantes²ti tasmi½ vih±re vasanto bhagav± s±yanhasamaya½ gandhakuµito nikkhamitv± gaªg±t²re paññattavarabuddh±sane nisinno gaªg±ya nadiy± ±gacchanta½ mahanta½ pheºapiº¹a½ disv±, “mama s±sane pañcakkhandhanissita½ eka½ dhamma½ kathess±m²”ti cintetv± pariv±retv± nisinne bhikkh³ ±mantesi.
Mahanta½ pheºapiº¹anti uµµh±nuµµh±ne badarapakkappam±ºato paµµh±ya anusot±gamanena anupubbena pava¹¹hitv± pabbatak³µamatta½ j±ta½, yattha udakasapp±dayo anekap±ºayo nivasanti, evar³pa½ mahanta½ pheºapiº¹a½. ¾vaheyy±ti ±hareyya. So pan±ya½ pheºapiº¹o uµµhitaµµh±nepi bhijjati thoka½ gantv±pi, ekadviyojan±divasena d³ra½ gantv±pi, antar± pana abhijjantopi mah±samudda½ patv± avassameva bhijjati. Nijjh±yeyy±ti olokeyya. Evameva khoti yath± pheºapiº¹o niss±ro, eva½ r³pampi niccas±radhuvas±ra-attas±ravirahena niss±rameva. Yath± ca so abalo agayh³pago, na sakk± ta½ gahetv± phalaka½ v± ±sana½ v± k±tu½, gahitopi bhijjateva, eva½ vedan±pi abal± agayh³pag±, na sakk± nicc±ti v± dhuv±ti v± gahetu½, gahit±pi na tath± tiµµhati, eva½ agayh³pagat±yapi vedan± pubbu¼asadis±. Yath± pana tasmi½ tasmi½ udakabindumhi pubbu¼o uppajjati ceva bhijjati ca, na ciraµµhitiko hoti, eva½ vedan±pi uppajjati ceva bhijjati ca, na ciraµµhitik± hoti. Ekaccharakkhaºe koµisatasahassasaªkh± uppajjitv± nirujjhati. Aññoyeva hi b±hir±ya pattavaµµiy± vaººo, añño tato abbhantara-abbhantar±na½, evameva saªkh±rakkhandhepi aññadeva phassassa lakkhaºa½, aññ± cetan±d²na½, samodh±netv± pana saªkh±rakkhandhova vuccat²ti evampi saªkh±rakkhandho kadalikkhandhasadiso.
Cakkhum± purisoti ma½sacakkhun± ceva paññ±cakkhun± c±ti dv²hi cakkh³hi cakkhum±. Ma½sacakkhumpi hissa parisuddha½ vaµµati apagatapaµalapi¼aka½, paññ±cakkhumpi as±rabh±vadassanasamattha½. Viññ±ºampi as±rakaµµhena m±y±sadisa½, tath± agayh³pagaµµhena. Yath± ca m±y± ittar± lahupaccupaµµh±n±, eva½ viññ±ºa½. Tañhi tatopi ittaratarañceva lahupaccupaµµh±natarañca. Teneva hi cittena puriso ±gato viya gato viya µhito viya nisinno viya hoti. Aññadeva ca ±gamanak±le citta½, añña½ gamanak±l±d²su. Evampi viññ±ºa½ m±y±sadisa½. M±y± ca mah±jana½ vañceti, ya½kiñcideva “ida½ suvaººa½ rajata½ mutt±”ti g±h±peti, viññ±ºampi mah±jana½ vañceti. Teneva hi cittena ±gacchanta½ viya gacchanta½ viya µhita½ viya nisinna½ viya katv± g±h±peti. Aññadeva ca ±gamane citta½, añña½ gaman±d²su. Evampi viññ±ºa½ m±y±sadisa½.
Bh³ripaññen±ti saºhapaññena ceva vipulavitthatapaññena ca. ¾y³ti j²vitindriya½. Usm±ti kammajatejodh±tu. Parabhattanti n±n±vidh±na½ kimigaº±d²na½ bhatta½ hutv±. Et±dis±ya½ sant±noti et±dis² aya½ paveº² matakassa y±va sus±n± ghaµµ²yat²ti. M±y±ya½ b±lal±pin²ti yv±ya½ viññ±ºakkhandho n±ma, aya½ b±lamah±janalap±panikam±y± n±ma. Vadhakoti dv²hi k±raºehi aya½ khandhasaªkh±to vadhako aññamaññagh±tanenapi, khandhesu sati vadho paññ±yat²tipi. Ek± hi pathav²dh±tu bhijjam±n± sesadh±tuyo gahetv±va bhijjati, tath± ±podh±tu-±dayo. R³pakkhandho ca bhijjam±no ar³pakkhandhe gahetv±va bhijjati, tath± ar³pakkhandhesu vedan±dayo saññ±dike. Catt±ropi cete vatthur³panti eva½ aññamaññavadhanenettha vadhakat± veditabb±. Khandhesu pana sati vadhabandhanacched±d²ni sambhavanti, eva½ etesu sati vadhabh±vatopi vadhakat± veditabb±. Sabbasa½yoganti sabba½ dasavidhampi sa½yojana½. Accuta½ padanti nibb±na½. Tatiya½.
