Satth± sutv± thera½ pucchi “ke pana te, ±nanda, ucc±sadd± mah±sadd± kevaµµ± maññe macchavilope”ti? Thero etamattha½ ±rocesi. Satth± sutv± “±misahetu, ±nanda, bhikkh³ mah±sadda½ karont²”ti ±ha. “¾ma, bhante”ti. “Ananucchavika½, ±nanda, appatir³pa½. Na hi may± kappasatasahass±dhik±ni catt±ri asaªkhyeyy±ni c²var±dihetu p±ramiyo p³rit±, n±pi ime bhikkh³ c²var±dihetu ag±rasm± anag±riya½ pabbajit±, arahattahetu pabbajitv± anattha½ atthasadisa½ as±ra½ s±rasadisa½ karonti, gacch±nanda, te bhikkh³ paº±meh²”ti.
Pubbaºhasamayanti dutiyadivase pubbaºhasamaya½. Beluvalaµµhik±ya m³leti taruºabeluvarukkham³le. Pab±¼hoti pab±hito. Pav±¼hotipi p±µho, pav±hitoti attho. Ubhayampi n²haµabh±vameva d²peti. Siy± aññathattanti pas±daññathatta½ v± bh±vaññathatta½ v± bhaveyya. Katha½? “Samm±sambuddhena maya½ lahuke k±raºe paº±mit±”ti pas±da½ manda½ karont±na½ pas±daññathatta½ n±ma hoti. Saliªgeneva titth±yatana½ pakkamant±na½ bh±vaññathatta½ n±ma. Siy± vipariº±moti ettha pana “maya½ satthu ajjh±saya½ gaºhitu½ sakkhiss±m±ti pabbajit±, na½ gahetu½ asakkont±na½ ki½ amh±ka½ pabbajj±y±”ti? Sikkha½ paccakkh±ya h²n±y±vattana½ vipariº±moti veditabbo. Vacchass±ti kh²r³pakavacchassa. Aññathattanti mil±yana-aññathatta½. Kh²r³pako hi vaccho m±tu adassanena kh²ra½ alabhanto mil±yati kampati pavedhati. Vipariº±moti maraºa½. So hi kh²ra½ alabham±no kh²rapip±s±ya sussanto patitv± marati.
B²j±na½ taruº±nanti udakena anuggahetabb±na½ vir³¼hab²j±na½. Aññathattanti mil±yanaññathattameva. T±ni hi udaka½ alabhant±ni mil±yanti. Vipariº±moti vin±so. T±ni hi udaka½ alabhant±ni sukkhitv± vinassanti, pal±lameva honti. Anuggahitoti ±mis±nuggahena ceva dhamm±nuggahena ca anuggahito. Anuggaºheyyanti dv²hipi etehi anuggahehi anuggaºheyya½. Acirapabbajit± hi s±maºer± ceva daharabhikkh³ ca c²var±dipaccayavekalle v± sati gelaññe v± satth±r± v± ±cariyupajjh±yehi v± ±mis±nuggahena ananuggahit± kilamant± na sakkonti sajjh±ya½ v± manasik±ra½ v± k±tu½, dhamm±nuggahena ananuggahit± uddesena ceva ov±d±nus±saniy± ca parih±yam±n± na sakkonti akusala½ parivajjetv± kusala½ bh±vetu½. Imehi pana dv²hi anuggahehi anuggahit± k±yena akilamant± sajjh±yamanasik±re pavattitv± yath±nusiµµha½ paµipajjam±n± aparabh±ge ta½ anuggaha½ alabhant±pi teneva purim±nuggahena laddhabal± s±sane patiµµhahanti, tasm± bhagavato eva½ parivitakko udap±di.
Bhagavato purato p±turahos²ti satthu citta½ ñatv±– “ime bhikkh³ bhagavat± paº±mit±, id±ni nesa½ anuggaha½ k±tuk±mo eva½ cintesi, k±raºa½ bhagav± cintesi, ahamettha uss±ha½ janess±m²”ti purato p±kaµo ahosi. Santettha bhikkh³ti ida½ so mah±brahm± yath± n±ma byatto s³do yadeva ambilagg±d²su rasaj±ta½ rañño ruccati, ta½ abhisaªkh±rena s±dutara½ katv± punadivase upan±meti, evameva attano byattat±ya bhagavat± ±haµa-upama½yeva evameta½ bhagav±ti-±divacanehi abhisaªkharitv± bhagavanta½ y±canto bhikkhusaªghassa anuggahakaraºattha½ vadati Tattha abhinandat³ti “mama santika½ bhikkhusaªgho ±gacchat³”ti. Evamassa ±gamana½ sampiy±yam±no abhinandatu. Abhivadat³ti ±gatassa ca ov±d±nus±sani½ dadanto abhivadatu.
Paµisall±n±ti ek²bh±v±. Iddh±bhisaªkh±ra½ abhisaªkh±s²ti iddhi½ ak±si. Ekadv²hik±y±ti ekeko ceva dve dve ca hutv±. S±rajjam±nar³p±ti ottappam±nasabh±v± bh±yam±n±. Kasm± pana bhagav± tesa½ tath± upasaªkaman±ya iddhimak±s²ti? Hitapatthan±ya. Yadi hi te vaggavagg± hutv± ±gaccheyyu½, “bhagav± bhikkhusaªgha½ paº±metv± arañña½ paviµµho ekadivasampi tattha vasitu½ n±sakkhi, vegeneva ±gato”ti ke¼impi kareyyu½. Atha nesa½ neva buddhag±rava½ paccupaµµhaheyya, na dhammadesana½ sampaµicchitu½ samatth± bhaveyyu½. Sabhay±na½ pana sas±rajj±na½ ekadv²hik±ya ±gacchant±na½ buddhag±ravañceva paccupaµµhita½ bhavissati, dhammadesanañca sampaµicchitu½ sakkhissant²ti cintetv± tesa½ hitapatthan±ya tath±r³pa½ iddhi½ ak±si.
Nis²di½s³ti tesu hi s±rajjam±nar³pesu ±gacchantesu eko bhikkhu “mama½yeva satth± oloketi, ma½yeva maññe niggaºhituk±mo”ti saºika½ ±gantv± vanditv± nis²di, athañño athaññoti eva½ pañcabhikkhusat±ni nis²di½su. Eva½ nisinna½ pana bhikkhusaªgha½ s²dantare sannisinna½ mah±samudda½ viya niv±te pad²pa½ viya ca niccala½ disv± satth± cintesi– “imesa½ bhikkh³na½ k²dis² dhammadesan± vaµµat²”ti? Athassa etadahosi– “ime ±h±rahetu paº±mit±, piº¹iy±lopadhammadesan±va nesa½ sapp±y±, ta½ dassetv± matthake tiparivaµµadesana½ desess±mi, desan±pariyos±ne sabbe arahatta½ p±puºissant²”ti. Atha nesa½ ta½ dhammadesana½ desento antamida½, bhikkhaveti-±dim±ha.
Tattha antanti pacchima½ l±maka½. Yadida½ piº¹olyanti ya½ eva½ piº¹apariyesanena j²vika½ kappentassa j²vita½. Aya½ panettha padattho– piº¹±ya ulat²ti piº¹olo, piº¹olassa kamma½ piº¹olya½, piº¹apariyesanena nipph±ditaj²vitanti attho. Abhis±poti akkoso. Kupit± hi manuss± attano paccatthika½ “c²vara½ niv±setv± kap±la½ gahetv± piº¹a½ pariyesam±no carissat²”ti akkosanti. Atha v± pana “ki½ tuyha½ ak±tabba½ atthi, yo tva½ eva½ balav± v²riyasampannopi hirottappa½ pah±ya kapaºo viya piº¹olo vicarasi pattap±º²”ti? Evampi akkosantiyeva. Tañca kho etanti eva½ ta½ abhis±pa½ sam±nampi piº¹olya½. Kulaputt± upenti atthavasik±ti mama s±sane j±tikulaputt± ca ±c±rakulaputt± ca atthavasik± k±raºavasik± hutv± k±raºavasa½ paµicca upenti.
R±j±bhin²t±ti-±d²su ye rañño santaka½ kh±ditv± raññ± bandhan±g±re bandh±pit± pal±yitv± pabbajanti, te r±j±bhin²t± n±ma. Te hi raññ± bandhana½ abhin²tatt± r±j±bhin²t± n±ma. Ye pana corehi aµaviya½ gahetv± ekaccesu m±riyam±nesu ekacce “maya½ s±mi tumhehi vissaµµh± geha½ anajjh±vasitv± pabbajiss±ma, tattha ya½ ya½ buddhap³j±dipuñña½ kariss±ma, tato tumh±ka½ patti½ dass±m±”ti tehi vissaµµh± pabbajanti, te cor±bhin²t± n±ma. Tepi hi corehi m±retabbata½ abhin²t±ti cor±bhin²t± n±ma. Ye pana iºa½ gahetv± paµid±tu½ asakkont± pal±yitv± pabbajanti, te iºaµµ± n±ma, iºap²¼it±ti attho Iºaµµh±tipi p±µho, iºe µhit±ti attho. Ye r±jacorach±takarogabhay±na½ aññatarena abhibh³t± upaddut± pabbajanti, te bhayaµµ± n±ma, bhayap²¼it±ti attho. Bhayaµµh±tipi p±µho, bhaye µhit±ti attho. ¾j²vik±pakat±ti ±j²vik±ya upaddut± abhibh³t±, puttad±ra½ posetu½ asakkont±ti attho. Otiºº±mh±ti anto anupaviµµh±.
So ca hoti abhijjh±l³ti ida½ so kulaputto “dukkhassa anta½ kariss±m²”ti-±divasena citta½ upp±detv± pabbajito, aparabh±ge, ta½ pabbajja½ tath±r³pa½ k±tu½ na sakkoti, ta½ dassetu½ vutta½. Tattha abhijjh±l³ti parabhaº¹±na½ abhijjh±yit±. Tibbas±r±goti bahalar±go. By±pannacittoti p³tibh±vena vipannacitto. Paduµµhamanasaªkappoti tikhiºasiªgo viya goºo duµµhacitto. Muµµhassat²ti bhattanikkhittak±ko viya naµµhassati, idha kata½ ettha nassati. Asampaj±noti nippañño. Khandh±diparicchedarahito. Asam±hitoti caº¹asote baddhan±v± viya upac±rappan±bh±vena asaºµhito. Vibbhantacittoti bandh±ru¼hamago viya santamano. P±katindriyoti yath± gih² puttadh²taro olokento asa½vutindriyo hoti, eva½ asa½vutindriyo.
Chav±l±tanti chav±na½ da¹¹haµµh±ne al±ta½. Ubhatopaditta½ majjhe g³thagatanti pam±ºena aµµhaªgulamatta½ dv²su µh±nesu ±ditta½ majjhe g³thamakkhita½. Neva g±meti sace hi ta½ yuganaªgalagop±nasipakkhap±sak±d²na½ atth±ya upanetu½ sakk± assa, g±me kaµµhattha½ phareyya. Sace khettakuµiya½ kaµµhattharamañcak±d²na½ atth±ya upanetu½ sakk±, araññe kaµµhattha½ phareyya. Yasm± pana ubhayath±pi na sakk±, tasm± eva½ vutta½. Gihibhog± ca parih²noti yo ag±re vasantehi gih²hi d±yajje bh±jiyam±ne bhogo laddhabbo assa, tato ca parih²no. S±maññatthañc±ti ±cariyupajjh±y±na½ ov±de µhatv± pariyattipaµivedhavasena pattabba½ s±maññatthañca. Imañca pana upama½ satth± na duss²lassa vasena ±hari, parisuddhas²lassa pana alasassa abhijjh±d²hi dosehi upahatassa puggalassa ima½ upama½ ±hari.
Tayome, bhikkhaveti kasm± ±raddha½? Imassa puggalassa chav±l±tasadisabh±vo neva m±t±pit³hi kato, na ±cariyupajjh±yehi, imehi pana p±pavitakkehi katoti dassanattha½ ±raddha½. Animitta½ v± sam±dhinti vipassan±sam±dhi½. So hi niccanimitt±d²na½ samuggh±tanena animittoti vuccati. Ettha ca catt±ro satipaµµh±n± missak±, animittasam±dhi pubbabh±go. Animittasam±dhi v± missako, satipaµµh±n± pubbabh±g±ti veditabb±.
Dvem±, bhikkhave, diµµhiyoti ida½ pana na kevala½ animittasam±dhibh±van± imesa½yeva tiººa½ mah±vitakk±na½ pah±n±ya sa½vattati, sassatucchedadiµµh²nampi pana samuggh±ta½ karot²ti dassanattha½ vutta½. Na vajjav± assanti niddoso bhaveyya½. Sesamettha utt±nameva. Iti bhagav± imasmimpi sutte desana½ t²hi bhavehi vinivattetv± arahattena k³µa½ gaºhi. Desan±vas±ne pañcasat± bhikkh³ saha paµisambhid±hi arahatta½ p±puºi½s³ti. Aµµhama½.
