Tenev±ha– “sabbete pañcup±d±nakkhandhe anussaranti, etesa½ v± aññataran”ti. Abhiññ±vasena hi samanussarantassa khandh±pi up±d±nakkhandh±pi khandhapaµibaddh±pi paººattipi ±rammaºa½ hotiyeva. R³pa½yeva anussarat²ti evañhi anussaranto na añña½ kiñci satta½ v± puggala½ v± anussarati, at²te pana niruddha½ r³pakkhandhameva anussarati. Vedan±d²supi eseva nayoti. Suññat±pabba½ niµµhita½.
Id±ni suññat±ya lakkhaºa½ dassetu½ kiñca, bhikkhave, r³pa½ vadeth±ti-±dim±ha. Yath± hi naµµha½ goºa½ pariyesam±no puriso gogaºe caram±ne ratta½ v± k±¼a½ v± bal²badda½ disv±pi na ettakeneva “aya½ mayha½ goºo”ti sanniµµh±na½ k±tu½ sakkoti. Kasm±? Aññesampi t±dis±na½ atthit±ya. Sar²rapadese panassa sattis³l±dilakkhaºa½ disv± “aya½ mayha½ santako”ti sanniµµh±na½ hoti, evameva suññat±ya kathit±yapi y±va suññat±lakkhaºa½ na kath²yati, t±va s± akathit±va hoti, lakkhaºe pana kathite kathit± n±ma hoti. Ruppat²ti kuppati ghaµµ²yati p²¼²yati, bhijjat²ti attho. S²tenapi ruppat²ti-±d²su s²tena t±va ruppana½ lokantarikaniraye p±kaµa½. Sar²sap±ti ye keci d²ghaj±tik± sarant± gacchanti. Tesa½ samphassena ruppana½ ±s²visadaµµhak±d²na½ vasena veditabba½. Iti bhagavat± y±ni im±ni s±maññapaccattavasena dhamm±na½ dve lakkhaº±ni, tesu r³pakkhandhassa t±va paccattalakkhaºa½ dassita½. R³pakkhandhasseva hi eta½, na vedan±d²na½ tasm± paccattalakkhaºanti vuccati. Aniccadukkh±nattalakkhaºa½ pana vedan±d²nampi hoti, tasm± ta½ s±maññalakkhaºanti vuccati.
Kiñca, bhikkhave, vedana½ vadeth±ti-±d²su purimasadisa½ vuttanayeneva veditabba½. Ya½ pana purimena asadisa½, tass±ya½ vibh±van±– sukhampi vedayat²ti sukha½ ±rammaºa½ vedeti anubhavati. Parato padadvayepi eseva nayo. Katha½ paneta½ ±rammaºa½ sukha½ dukkha½ adukkhamasukha½ n±ma j±tanti? Sukh±d²na½ paccayato. Sv±yamattho “yasm± ca kho, mah±li, r³pa½ sukha½ sukh±nupatita½ sukh±vakkantan”ti imasmi½ mah±lisutte (sa½. ni. 3.60) ±gatoyeva. Vedayat²ti ettha ca vedan±va vedayati, na añño satto v± puggalo v±. Vedan± hi vedayitalakkhaº±, tasm± vatth±rammaºa½ paµicca vedan±va vedayat²ti. Evamidha bhagav± vedan±yapi paccattalakkhaºameva bh±jetv± dassesi.
N²lampi sañj±n±t²ti n²lapupphe v± vatthe v± parikamma½ katv± upac±ra½ v± appana½ v± p±pento sañj±n±ti. Ayañhi saññ± n±ma parikammasaññ±pi upac±rasaññ±pi appan±saññ±pi vaµµati, n²la½ n²lanti uppajjanasaññ±pi vaµµatiyeva. P²tak±d²supi eseva nayo. Idh±pi bhagav± sañj±nanalakkhaº±ya saññ±ya paccattalakkhaºameva bh±jetv± dassesi.
R³pa½ r³patt±ya saªkhatamabhisaªkharont²ti yath± y±gumeva y±gutt±ya, p³vameva p³vatt±ya pacati n±ma, eva½ paccayehi sam±gantv± katabh±vena saªkhatanti laddhan±ma½ r³pameva r³patt±ya yath± abhisaªkhata½ r³pa½ n±ma hoti, tathatt±ya r³pabh±v±ya abhisaªkharoti ±y³hati sampiº¹eti, nipph±det²ti attho. Vedan±d²supi eseva nayo. Aya½ panettha saªkhepo– attan± saha j±yam±na½ r³pa½ sampayutte ca vedan±dayo dhamme abhisaªkharoti nibbattet²ti. Idh±pi bhagav± cetayitalakkhaºassa saªkh±rassa paccattalakkhaºameva bh±jetv± dassesi.
Ambilampi vij±n±t²ti amba-amb±µakam±tuluªg±di-ambila½ “ambilan”ti vij±n±ti. Eseva nayo sabbapadesu. Api cettha tittakanti nimbapaµol±din±nappak±ra½ kaµukanti pippalimaric±din±nappak±ra½. Madhuranti sappiph±ºit±din±nappak±ra½ Kh±rikanti v±tiªgaºan±¼ikera caturassavallivettaªkur±din±nappak±ra½. Akh±rikanti ya½ v± ta½ v± phalaj±ta½ k±rapaºº±dimissakapaººa½. Loºikanti loºay±guloºamacchaloºabhatt±din±nappak±ra½. Aloºikanti-aloºay±gu-aloºamaccha-aloºabhatt±din±nappak±ra½. Tasm± viññ±ºanti vuccat²ti yasm± ima½ ambil±dibheda½ aññamaññavisiµµhena ambil±dibh±vena j±n±ti, tasm± viññ±ºanti vuccat²ti. Evamidh±pi bhagav± vij±nanalakkhaºassa viññ±ºassa paccattalakkhaºameva bh±jetv± dassesi.
Yasm± pana ±rammaºassa ±k±rasaºµh±nagahaºavasena saññ± p±kaµ± hoti, tasm± s± cakkhudv±re vibhatt±. Yasm± vin±pi ±k±rasaºµh±n± ±rammaºassa paccattabhedagahaºavasena viññ±ºa½ p±kaµa½ hoti, tasm± ta½ jivh±dv±re vibhatta½. Imesa½ pana saññ±viññ±ºapaññ±na½ asammohato sabh±vasallakkhaºattha½ sañj±n±ti, vij±n±ti, paj±n±t²ti ettha vises± veditabb±. Tattha upasaggamattameva viseso, j±n±t²ti pada½ pana aviseso. Tassapi j±nanaµµhena viseso veditabbo. Saññ± hi n²l±divasena ±rammaºasañj±nanamattameva, anicca½ dukkhamanatt±ti lakkhaºapaµivedha½ p±petu½ na sakkoti. Viññ±ºa½ n²l±divasena ±rammaºañceva j±n±ti, anicc±divasena lakkhaºapaµivedhañca p±peti, ussakkitv± pana maggap±tubh±va½ p±petu½ na sakkoti. Yath± hi heraññikaphalake kah±paºar±simhi kate aj±tabuddhid±rako g±mikapuriso mah±heraññikoti t²su janesu oloketv± µhitesu aj±tabuddhid±rako kah±paº±na½ cittavicittacaturassamaº¹al±dibh±vameva j±n±ti, “ida½ manuss±na½ upabhogaparibhoga½ ratanasammatan”ti na j±n±ti. G±mikapuriso citt±dibh±vañca j±n±ti, manuss±na½ upabhogaparibhogaratanasammatabh±vañca, “aya½ k³µo, aya½ cheko, aya½ karaµo, aya½ saºho”ti na j±n±ti. Mah±heraññiko citt±dibh±vampi ratanasammatabh±vampi k³µ±dibh±vampi j±n±ti. J±nanto ca pana r³pa½ disv±pi sadda½ sutv±pi gandha½ gh±yitv±pi rasa½ s±yitv±pi hatthena garulahubh±va½ upadh±retv±pi “asukag±me kato”tipi j±n±ti, “asukanigame asukanagare asukapabbatacch±y±ya asukanad²t²re kato”tipi, “asuk±cariyena kato”tipi j±n±ti. Evameva saññ± aj±tabuddhid±rakassa kah±paºadassana½ viya n²l±divasena ±rammaºamattameva j±n±ti. Viññ±ºa½ g±mikapurisassa kah±paºadassana½ viya n²l±divasena ±rammaºampi j±n±ti, anicc±divasena lakkhaºapaµivedhampi p±peti. Paññ± mah±heraññikassa kah±paºadassana½ viya n²l±divasena ±rammaºampi j±n±ti, anicc±divasena lakkhaºapaµivedhampi p±peti, ussakkitv± maggap±tubh±vampi p±peti.
So pana nesa½ viseso duppaµivijjho. Ten±ha ±yasm± n±gaseno–
“Dukkara½, mah±r±ja, bhagavat± katanti. Ki½, bhante n±gasena, bhagavat± dukkara½ katanti? Dukkara½, mah±r±ja, bhagavat± kata½, imesa½ ar³p²na½ cittacetasik±na½ dhamm±na½ ek±rammaºe vattam±n±na½ vavatth±na½ akkh±ta½ ‘aya½ phasso, aya½ vedan±, aya½ saññ±, aya½ cetan±, ida½ citta”n’ti (mi. pa. 2.7.16).
Yath± hi tilatela½ s±sapatela½ madhukatela½ eraº¹akatela½ vas±telanti im±ni pañca tel±ni ekac±µiya½ pakkhipitv± divasa½ yamakamanthe hi manthetv± tato “ida½ tilatela½, ida½ s±sapatelan”ti ekekassa p±µiyekka½ uddharaºa½ n±ma dukkara½, ida½ tato dukkaratara½. Bhagav± pana sabbaññutaññ±ºassa suppaµividdhatt± dhammissaro dhammar±j± imesa½ ar³p²na½ dhamm±na½ ek±rammaºe vattam±n±na½ vavatth±na½ ak±si. Pañcanna½ mah±nad²na½ samudda½ paviµµhaµµh±ne “ida½ gaªg±ya udaka½, ida½ yamun±y±”ti eva½ p±µiyekka½ udakuddharaºen±pi ayamattho veditabbo.
Iti paµhamapabbena suññata½, dutiyena suññat±lakkhaºanti dv²hi pabbehi anattalakkhaºa½ kathetv± id±ni dukkhalakkhaºa½ dassetu½ tatra, bhikkhaveti-±dim±ha. Tattha khajj±m²ti na r³pa½ sunakho viya ma½sa½ luñcitv± luñcitv± kh±dati, yath± pana kiliµµhavatthanivattho tatonid±na½ p²¼a½ sandh±ya “kh±dati ma½ vatthan”ti bhaºati, evamidampi p²¼a½ upp±denta½ kh±dati n±m±ti veditabba½. Paµipanno hot²ti s²la½ ±di½ katv± y±va arahattamagg± paµipanno hoti. Yo panettha balavañ±ºo tikkhabuddhi ñ±ºuttaro yog±vacaro padh±nabh³miya½ v±yamanto kh±ºun± v± kaºµakena v± viddho ±vudhena v± pahaµo byaggh±d²hi v± gahetv± khajjam±no ta½ vedana½ abboh±rika½ katv± m³lakammaµµh±na½ sammasanto arahattameva gaºh±ti, aya½ vedan±ya nibbid±ya vir±g±ya nirodh±ya paµipanno n±ma vuccati p²tamallatthero viya kuµumbiyaputtamah±tissatthero viya vattani-aµaviya½ ti½samatt±na½ bhikkh³na½ aññataro byagghamukhe nipannabhikkhu viya kaºµakena viddhatthero viya ca.
Dv±dasasu kira bhikkh³su ghaºµi½ paharitv± araññe padh±namanuyuñjantesu eko s³riye atthaªgatamatteyeva ghaºµi½ paharitv± caªkama½ oruyha caªkamanto tiriya½ nimmathento tiºapaµicchanna½ kaºµaka½ akkami. Kaºµako piµµhip±dena nikkhanto. Tattaph±lena vinividdhak±lo viya vedan± vattati. Thero cintesi– “ki½ ima½ kaºµaka½ uddhar±mi, ud±hu pakatiy± vijjhitv± µhitakaºµakan”ti? Tassa evamahosi– “imin± kaºµakena viddhatt± niray±d²su bhaya½ n±ma natthi, pakatiy± vijjhitv± µhitakaºµaka½yev±”ti. So ta½ vedana½ abboh±rika½ katv± sabbaratti½ caªkamitv± vibh±t±ya rattiy± aññassa sañña½ ad±si. So ±gantv± “ki½, bhante”ti pucchi? “Kaºµakenamhi, ±vuso, viddho”ti. “K±ya vel±ya, bhante”ti? “S±yameva, ±vuso”ti. “Kasm± na amhe pakkosittha, kaºµaka½ uddharitv± tattha telampi siñceyy±m±”ti? “Pakatiy± vijjhitv± µhitakaºµakameva uddharitu½ v±yamimh±, ±vuso”ti. “Sakkuºittha, bhante, uddharitun”ti. “Ekadesamattena me, ±vuso, uddhaµo”ti. Sesavatth³ni d²ghamajjhimaµµhakath±su (d². ni. aµµha. 2.373; ma. ni. aµµha. 1.106) satipaµµh±nasuttaniddese vitth±rit±neva.
Ta½ ki½ maññatha, bhikkhaveti kasm± ±raddha½? Imasmi½ pabbe dukkhalakkhaºameva kathita½, na aniccalakkhaºa½. Ta½ dassetu½ idam±raddha½. T²ºi lakkhaº±ni samodh±netv± dassetumpi ±raddhameva. Apacin±ti no ±cin±t²ti vaµµa½ vin±seti, neva cin±ti. Pajahati na up±diyat²ti tadeva vissajjeti, na gaºh±ti. Visineti na ussinet²ti vikirati na sampiº¹eti. Vidh³peti na sandh³pet²ti nibb±peti na j±l±peti.
Eva½ passa½, bhikkhaveti ida½ kasm± ±raddha½? Vaµµa½ vin±setv± µhita½ mah±kh²º±sava½ dassess±m²ti ±raddha½. Ettakena v± µh±nena vipassan± kathit±, id±ni saha vipassan±ya catt±ro magge dassetu½ ida½ ±raddha½. Atha v± ettakena µh±nena paµhamamaggo kathito, id±ni saha vipassan±ya tayo magge dassetu½ idam±raddha½. Ettakena v± µh±nena t²ºi magg±ni kathit±ni, id±ni saha vipassan±ya arahattamagga½ dassetumpi ida½ ±raddhameva.
Sapaj±patik±ti saddhi½ paj±patin± devar±jena. ¾rak±va namassant²ti d³ratova namassanti, d³repi µhita½ namassantiyeva ±yasmanta½ n²tatthera½ viya.
Thero kira pupphaccha¹¹akakulato nikkhamma pabbajito, khuraggeyeva arahatta½ patv± cintesi– “aha½ ajjeva pabbajito ajjeva me pabbajitakicca½ matthaka½ patta½, catupaccayasantosabh±van±r±mamaº¹ita½ mah±-ariyava½sapaµipada½ p³ress±m²”ti. So pa½suk³latth±ya s±vatthi½ pavisitv± co¼aka½ pariyesanto vicari. Atheko mah±brahm± sam±pattito vuµµh±ya manussapatha½ olokento thera½ disv±– “ajjeva pabbajitv± ajjeva khuragge arahatta½ patv± mah±-ariyava½sapaµipada½ p³retu½ co¼aka½ pariyesat²”ti añjali½ paggayha namassam±no aµµh±si. Tamañño mah±brahm± disv± “ka½ namassas²”ti? Pucchi. N²tatthera½ namass±m²ti. Ki½ k±raº±ti? Ajjeva pabbajitv± ajjeva khuragge arahatta½ patv± mah±-ariyava½sapaµipada½ p³retu½ co¼aka½ pariyesat²ti.
