Kaba¼²k±ro ±h±ro o¼±riko v± sukhumo v±, phasso dutiyo, manosañcetan± tatiy±, viññ±ºa½ catuttha½. Ime kho, bhikkhave, catt±ro ±h±r± bh³t±na½ v± satt±na½ µhitiy± sambhaves²na½ v± anuggah±ya”.
“Kathañca, bhikkhave, kaba¼²k±ro ±h±ro daµµhabbo? Seyyath±pi, bhikkhave, dve j±yampatik± [jayampatik± (s². p².) µ²k± oloketabb±] paritta½ sambala½ ±d±ya kant±ramagga½ paµipajjeyyu½. Tesamassa ekaputtako piyo man±po. Atha kho tesa½, bhikkhave, dvinna½ j±yampatik±na½ kant±ragat±na½ y± paritt± sambalamatt±, s± parikkhaya½ pariy±d±na½ gaccheyya. Siy± ca nesa½ kant±r±vaseso anatiººo. Atha kho tesa½, bhikkhave, dvinna½ j±yampatik±na½ evamassa– ‘amh±ka½ kho y± paritt± sambalamatt± s± parikkh²º± pariy±diºº± [pariy±dinn± (sy±. ka½.)]. Atthi c±ya½ kant±r±vaseso anittiººo [anitthiººo (sy±. ka½.), anatiººo (ka.)]. Ya½n³na maya½ ima½ ekaputtaka½ piya½ man±pa½ vadhitv± vall³rañca soº¹ikañca karitv± puttama½s±ni kh±dant± eva½ ta½ kant±r±vasesa½ nitthareyy±ma, m± sabbeva tayo vinassimh±’ti. Atha kho te, bhikkhave, dve j±yampatik± ta½ ekaputtaka½ piya½ man±pa½ vadhitv± vall³rañca soº¹ikañca karitv± puttama½s±ni kh±dant± eva½ ta½ kant±r±vasesa½ nitthareyyu½. Te puttama½s±ni ceva kh±deyyu½, ure ca paµipiseyyu½– ‘kaha½, ekaputtaka, kaha½, ekaputtak±’ti.
“Ta½ ki½ maññatha, bhikkhave, api nu te dav±ya v± ±h±ra½ ±h±reyyu½, mad±ya v± ±h±ra½ ±h±reyyu½, maº¹an±ya v± ±h±ra½ ±h±reyyu½, vibh³san±ya v± ±h±ra½ ±h±reyyun”ti? “No heta½, bhante”. “Nanu te, bhikkhave, y±vadeva kant±rassa nittharaºatth±ya ±h±ra½ ±h±reyyun”ti? “Eva½, bhante”. “Evameva khv±ha½, bhikkhave, kaba¼²k±ro ±h±ro daµµhabbo”ti vad±mi. Kaba¼²k±re, bhikkhave, ±h±re pariññ±te pañcak±maguºiko r±go pariññ±to hoti. Pañcak±maguºike r±ge pariññ±te natthi ta½ sa½yojana½ yena sa½yojanena sa½yutto ariyas±vako puna ima½ loka½ ±gaccheyya.
“Kathañca, bhikkhave, phass±h±ro daµµhabbo? Seyyath±pi, bhikkhave, g±v² niccamm± kuµµa½ ce [ku¹¹añce (s². sy±. ka½. p².)] niss±ya tiµµheyya. Ye kuµµanissit± p±º± te na½ kh±deyyu½. Rukkha½ ce niss±ya tiµµheyya, ye rukkhanissit± p±º± te na½ kh±deyyu½. Udaka½ ce niss±ya tiµµheyya, ye udakanissit± p±º± te na½ kh±deyyu½. ¾k±sa½ ce niss±ya tiµµheyya, ye ±k±sanissit± p±º± te na½ kh±deyyu½. Ya½ yadeva hi s±, bhikkhave, g±v² niccamm± niss±ya tiµµheyya, ye tannissit± [ye tannissit± tannissit± (s². sy±. ka½. p².)] p±º± te na½ kh±deyyu½. Evameva khv±ha½, bhikkhave, “phass±h±ro daµµhabbo”ti vad±mi. Phasse, bhikkhave, ±h±re pariññ±te tisso vedan± pariññ±t± honti. T²su vedan±su pariññ±t±su ariyas±vakassa natthi kiñci uttarikaraº²yanti [uttari½karaº²yanti (s². p².)] vad±mi.
“Kathañca bhikkhave, manosañcetan±h±ro daµµhabbo? Seyyath±pi bhikkhave, aªg±rak±su s±dhikaporis± puºº± aªg±r±na½ v²taccik±na½ v²tadh³m±na½. Atha puriso ±gaccheyya j²vituk±mo amarituk±mo sukhak±mo dukkhappaµik³lo. Tamena½ dve balavanto puris± n±n±b±h±su gahetv± ta½ aªg±rak±su½ upaka¹¹heyyu½. Atha kho, bhikkhave, tassa purisassa ±rak±vassa cetan± ±rak± patthan± ±rak± paºidhi. Ta½ kissa hetu? Evañhi, bhikkhave, tassa purisassa hoti– ‘ima½ c±ha½ aªg±rak±su½ papatiss±mi, tatonid±na½ maraºa½ v± nigacch±mi maraºamatta½ v± dukkhan’ti. Evameva khv±ha½, bhikkhave, ‘manosañcetan±h±ro daµµhabbo’ti vad±mi. Manosañcetan±ya, bhikkhave, ±h±re pariññ±te tisso taºh± pariññ±t± honti. T²su taºh±su pariññ±t±su ariyas±vakassa natthi kiñci uttarikaraº²yanti vad±mi.
“Kathañca, bhikkhave, viññ±º±h±ro daµµhabbo? Seyyath±pi, bhikkhave, cora½ ±guc±ri½ gahetv± rañño dasseyyu½– ‘aya½ te, deva, coro ±guc±r², imassa ya½ icchasi ta½ daº¹a½ paºeh²’ti. Tamena½ r±j± eva½ vadeyya– ‘gacchatha, bho, ima½ purisa½ pubbaºhasamaya½ sattisatena hanath±’ti. Tamena½ pubbaºhasamaya½ sattisatena haneyyu½. Atha r±j± majjhanhikasamaya½ eva½ vadeyya– ‘ambho, katha½ so puriso’ti? ‘Tatheva, deva, j²vat²’ti. Tamena½ r±j± eva½ vadeyya– ‘gacchatha, bho, ta½ purisa½ majjhanhikasamaya½ sattisatena hanath±’ti. Tamena½ majjhanhikasamaya½ sattisatena haneyyu½. Atha r±j± s±yanhasamaya½ eva½ vadeyya– ‘ambho, katha½ so puriso’ti? ‘Tatheva, deva, j²vat²’ti. Tamena½ r±j± eva½ vadeyya– ‘gacchatha, bho, ta½ purisa½ s±yanhasamaya½ sattisatena hanath±’ti. Tamena½ s±yanhasamaya½ sattisatena haneyyu½. Ta½ ki½ maññatha bhikkhave, api nu so puriso divasa½ t²hi sattisatehi haññam±no tatonid±na½ dukkha½ domanassa½ paµisa½vediyeth±”ti? “Ekiss±pi, bhante, sattiy± haññam±no tatonid±na½ dukkha½ domanassa½ paµisa½vediyetha; ko pana v±do t²hi sattisatehi haññam±no”ti! “Evameva khv±ha½, bhikkhave, viññ±º±h±ro daµµhabboti vad±mi. Viññ±ºe, bhikkhave, ±h±re pariññ±te n±mar³pa½ pariññ±ta½ hoti, n±mar³pe pariññ±te ariyas±vakassa natthi kiñci uttarikaraº²yanti vad±m²”ti. Tatiya½.
