149. R±jagahe ve¼uvane. Atha kho ±yasm± mah±kassapo yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho ±yasmanta½ mah±kassapa½ bhagav± etadavoca– “ovada, kassapa, bhikkh³; karohi, kassapa, bhikkh³na½ dhammi½ katha½. Aha½ v±, kassapa bhikkh³ ovadeyya½ tva½ v±; aha½ v± bhikkh³na½ dhammi½ katha½ kareyya½ tva½ v±”ti.
“Dubbac± kho, bhante, etarahi bhikkh³, dovacassakaraºehi dhammehi samann±gat±, akkham±, appadakkhiºagg±hino anus±sani½. Idh±ha½, bhante, addasa½ bhaº¹añca [bhaº¹uñca (s².)] n±ma bhikkhu½ ±nandassa saddhivih±ri½ abhijikañca [±bhiñjikañca (s². ka.), ±bhijjikañca (sy±. ka½.)] n±ma bhikkhu½ anuruddhassa saddhivih±ri½ aññamañña½ sutena acc±vadante– ‘ehi, bhikkhu, ko bahutara½ bh±sissati, ko sundaratara½ bh±sissati, ko ciratara½ bh±sissat²”’ti.
Atha kho bhagav± aññatara½ bhikkhu½ ±mantesi– “ehi tva½, bhikkhu, mama vacanena bhaº¹añca bhikkhu½ ±nandassa saddhivih±ri½ abhijikañca bhikkhu½ anuruddhassa saddhivih±ri½ ±mantehi– ‘satth± ±yasmante ±mantet²”’ti. “Eva½, bhante”ti kho so bhikkhu bhagavato paµissutv± yena te bhikkh³ tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± te bhikkh³ etadavoca– “satth± ±yasmante ±mantet²”ti.
“Evam±vuso”ti kho te bhikkh³ tassa bhikkhuno paµissutv± yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami½su; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di½su. Ekamanta½ nisinne kho te bhikkh³ bhagav± etadavoca– “sacca½ kira tumhe, bhikkhave, aññamañña½ sutena acc±vadatha– ‘ehi, bhikkhu, ko bahutara½ bh±sissati, ko sundaratara½ bh±sissati, ko ciratara½ bh±sissat²”’ti? “Eva½, bhante”. “Ki½ nu kho me tumhe, bhikkhave, eva½ dhamma½ desita½ ±j±n±tha– ‘etha tumhe, bhikkhave, aññamañña½ sutena acc±vadatha– ehi, bhikkhu, ko bahutara½ bh±sissati, ko sundaratara½ bh±sissati, ko ciratara½ bh±sissat²”’ti? “No heta½, bhante”. “No ce kira me tumhe, bhikkhave, eva½ dhamma½ desita½ ±j±n±tha, atha ki½ carahi tumhe, moghapuris±, ki½ j±nant± ki½ passant± eva½ sv±kkh±te dhammavinaye pabbajit± sam±n± aññamañña½ sutena acc±vadatha– ‘ehi, bhikkhu, ko bahutara½ bh±sissati, ko sundaratara½ bh±sissati, ko ciratara½ bh±sissat²”’ti.
Atha kho te bhikkh³ bhagavato p±desu siras± nipatitv± bhagavanta½ etadavocu½– “accayo no, bhante, accagam±, yath±b±le yath±m³¼he yath±-akusale [yath± b±le yath± m³¼he yath± akusale (p².), yath±b±la½ yath±m³¼ha½ yath±-akusala½ (?)], Ye maya½ eva½ sv±kkh±te dhammavinaye pabbajit± sam±n± aññamañña½ sutena acc±vadimha– ‘ehi, bhikkhu, ko bahutara½ bh±sissati ko sundaratara½ bh±sissati, ko ciratara½ bh±sissat²’ti. Tesa½ no, bhante, bhagav± accaya½ accayato paµiggaºh±tu ±yati½ sa½var±y±”ti.
“Taggha tumhe, bhikkhave, accayo accagam± yath±b±le yath±m³¼he yath±-akusale, ye tumhe eva½ sv±kkh±te dhammavinaye pabbajit± sam±n± aññamañña½ sutena acc±vadittha– ‘ehi, bhikkhu, ko bahutara½ bh±sissati, ko sundaratara½ bh±sissati, ko ciratara½ bh±sissat²’ti. Yato ca kho tumhe, bhikkhave, accaya½ accayato disv± yath±dhamma½ paµikarotha, ta½ vo maya½ [maya½ accaya½ (s².)] paµiggaºh±ma. Vuddhi hes±, bhikkhave, ariyassa vinaye yo accaya½ accayato disv± yath±dhamma½ paµikaroti ±yatiñca sa½vara½ ±pajjat²”ti. Chaµµha½.
