146. S±vatthiya½ viharati…pe… “cand³pam±, bhikkhave, kul±ni upasaªkamatha– apakasseva k±ya½, apakassa citta½, niccanavak± kulesu appagabbh± [appagabb± (ka.)]. Seyyath±pi bhikkhave, puriso jarudap±na½ v± olokeyya pabbatavisama½ v± nad²vidugga½ v±– apakasseva k±ya½, apakassa citta½; evameva kho, bhikkhave, cand³pam± kul±ni upasaªkamatha– apakasseva k±ya½, apakassa citta½, niccanavak± kulesu appagabbh±”.
“Kassapo, bhikkhave, cand³pamo kul±ni upasaªkamati– apakasseva k±ya½, apakassa citta½, niccanavako kulesu appagabbho. Ta½ ki½ maññatha, bhikkhave, katha½r³po bhikkhu arahati kul±ni upasaªkamitun”ti? “Bhagava½m³lak± no, bhante, dhamm± bhagava½nettik± bhagava½paµisaraº±. S±dhu vata, bhante, bhagavanta½yeva paµibh±tu etassa bh±sitassa attho. Bhagavato sutv± bhikkh³ dh±ressant²”ti.
Atha kho bhagav± ±k±se p±ºi½ c±lesi. “Seyyath±pi, bhikkhave, aya½ ±k±se p±ºi na sajjati na gayhati na bajjhati; evameva kho, bhikkhave, yassa kassaci bhikkhuno kul±ni upasaªkamato kulesu citta½ na sajjati na gayhati na bajjhati– ‘labhantu l±bhak±m±, puññak±m± karontu puññ±n²’ti; yath±sakena l±bhena attamano hoti sumano, eva½ paresa½ l±bhena attamano hoti sumano; evar³po kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu arahati kul±ni upasaªkamitu½.
“Kassapassa, bhikkhave, kul±ni upasaªkamato kulesu citta½ na sajjati na gayhati na bajjhati– ‘labhantu l±bhak±m±, puññak±m± karontu puññ±n²’ti; yath±sakena l±bhena attamano hoti sumano; eva½ paresa½ l±bhena attamano hoti sumano.
“Ta½ ki½ maññatha, bhikkhave, katha½r³passa bhikkhuno aparisuddh± dhammadesan± hoti, katha½r³passa bhikkhuno parisuddh± dhammadesan± hot²”ti? “Bhagava½m³lak± no, bhante, dhamm± bhagava½nettik± bhagava½paµisaraº±. S±dhu vata, bhante, bhagavanta½yeva paµibh±tu etassa bh±sitassa attho Bhagavato sutv± bhikkh³ dh±ressant²”ti. “Tena hi, bhikkhave, suº±tha, s±dhuka½ manasi karotha; bh±siss±m²”ti. “Eva½, bhante”ti kho te bhikkh³ bhagavato paccassosu½. Bhagav± etadavoca–
“Yo hi koci, bhikkhave, bhikkhu eva½citto paresa½ dhamma½ deseti– ‘aho vata me dhamma½ suºeyyu½, sutv± ca pana dhamma½ pas²deyyu½, pasann± ca me pasann±k±ra½ kareyyun’ti; evar³passa kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno aparisuddh± dhammadesan± hoti.
“Yo ca kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu eva½citto paresa½ dhamma½ deseti– ‘sv±kkh±to bhagavat± dhammo sandiµµhiko ak±liko ehipassiko opaneyyiko paccatta½ veditabbo viññ³h²ti [viññ³hi (?)]. Aho, vata me dhamma½ suºeyyu½, sutv± ca pana dhamma½ ±j±neyyu½, ±j±nitv± ca pana tathatt±ya paµipajjeyyun’ti. Iti dhammasudhammata½ paµicca paresa½ dhamma½ deseti, k±ruñña½ paµicca anuddaya½ [anudaya½ (bah³su) dvittak±raºa½ pana gavesitabba½] paµicca anukampa½ up±d±ya paresa½ dhamma½ deseti. Evar³passa kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno parisuddh± dhammadesan± hoti.
“Kassapo, bhikkhave, eva½citto paresa½ dhamma½ deseti– ‘sv±kkh±to bhagavat± dhammo sandiµµhiko ak±liko ehipassiko opaneyyiko paccatta½ veditabbo viññ³h²ti. Aho, vata me dhamma½ suºeyyu½, sutv± ca pana dhamma½ ±j±neyyu½, ±j±nitv± ca pana tathatt±ya paµipajjeyyun’ti. Iti dhammasudhammata½ paµicca paresa½ dhamma½ deseti, k±ruñña½ paµicca anuddaya½ paµicca anukampa½ up±d±ya paresa½ dhamma½ deseti. Kassapena v± hi vo, bhikkhave, ovadiss±mi yo v± panassa kassapasadiso, ovaditehi ca pana vo tathatt±ya paµipajjitabban”ti. Tatiya½.
