Atha kho ±yasmato mah±moggall±nassa etadahosi– “ki½ nu kho me kucchi garugaro viya [garu garu viya (s². p². µ²k±ya½ p±µhantara½)]? M±s±cita½ maññe”ti. Atha kho ±yasm± mah±moggall±no caªkam± orohitv± vih±ra½ pavisitv± paññatte ±sane nis²di. Nisajja kho ±yasm± mah±moggall±no paccatta½ yoniso manas±k±si. M± tath±gata½ vihesesi, m± tath±gatas±vaka½. M± te ahosi d²gharatta½ ahit±ya dukkh±y±”ti. Atha kho m±rassa p±pimato etadahosi– “aj±nameva kho ma½ aya½ samaºo apassa½ evam±ha– ‘nikkhama, p±pima; nikkhama, p±pima! M± tath±gata½ vihesesi, m± tath±gatas±vaka½. M± te ahosi d²gharatta½ ahit±ya dukkh±y±’ti. Yopissa so satth± sopi ma½ neva khippa½ j±neyya, kuto pana [kuto ca pana (sy±.)] ma½ aya½ s±vako j±nissat²”ti? Atha kho ±yasm± mah±moggall±no m±ra½ p±pimanta½ etadavoca– “evampi kho t±ha½, p±pima, j±n±mi, m± tva½ maññittho– ‘na ma½ j±n±t²’ti. M±ro tvamasi, p±pima; tuyhañhi, p±pima, eva½ hoti– ‘aj±nameva kho ma½ aya½ samaºo apassa½ evam±ha– nikkhama, p±pima; nikkhama, p±pima! M± tath±gata½ vihesesi, m± tath±gatas±vaka½. 507. Addas± kho ±yasm± mah±moggall±no m±ra½ p±pimanta½ paccagga¼e µhita½; disv±na m±ra½ p±pimanta½ etadavoca– ‘etth±pi kho t±ha½, p±pima, pass±mi; m± tva½ maññittho “na ma½ passat²”ti. Eso tva½, p±pima, paccagga¼e µhito. Bh³tapubb±ha½, p±pima, d³s² n±ma m±ro ahosi½, tassa me k±¼² n±ma bhagin². Tass± tva½ putto. So me tva½ bh±gineyyo ahosi. Tena kho pana, p±pima, samayena kakusandho bhagav± araha½ samm±sambuddho loke uppanno hoti. Kakusandhassa kho pana, p±pima, bhagavato arahato samm±sambuddhassa vidhurasañj²va½ n±ma s±vakayuga½ ahosi agga½ bhaddayuga½. Y±vat± kho pana, p±pima, kakusandhassa bhagavato arahato samm±sambuddhassa s±vak±. Tesu na ca koci ±yasmat± vidhurena samasamo hoti yadida½ dhammadesan±ya. Imin± kho eva½ [eta½ (s². sy±. p².)], p±pima, pariy±yena ±yasmato vidhurassa vidhuroteva [vidhurassa vidhuro vidhurotveva (s². sy±. ka½. p².)] samaññ± udap±di.
