“Idheva, bhikkhave, samaºo, idha dutiyo samaºo, idha tatiyo samaºo, idha catuttho samaºo; suññ± parappav±d± samaºebhi aññeh²ti [samaºehi aññeti (s². p². ka.) ettha aññeh²ti sak±ya paµiññ±ya sacc±bhiññeh²ti attho veditabbo]. Evameta½ [evameva (sy±. ka.)], bhikkhave, samm± s²han±da½ nadatha.
140. “Ýh±na½ kho paneta½, bhikkhave, vijjati ya½ aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± eva½ vadeyyu½– ‘ko pan±yasmant±na½ ass±so, ki½ bala½, yena tumhe ±yasmanto eva½ vadetha– idheva samaºo, idha dutiyo samaºo, idha tatiyo samaºo, idha catuttho samaºo; suññ± parappav±d± samaºebhi aññeh²’ti? 141. “Ýh±na½ kho paneta½, bhikkhave, vijjati ya½ aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± eva½ vadeyyu½– ‘amh±kampi kho, ±vuso, atthi satthari pas±do yo amh±ka½ satth±, amh±kampi atthi dhamme pas±do yo amh±ka½ dhammo, mayampi s²lesu parip³rak±rino y±ni amh±ka½ s²l±ni, amh±kampi sahadhammik± piy± man±p±– gahaµµh± ceva pabbajit± ca. Idha no, ±vuso, ko viseso ko adhippay±so [adhipp±yo (ka. s². sy±. p².), adhippayogo (ka.)] ki½ n±n±karaºa½ yadida½ tumh±kañceva amh±kañc±’ti?

“‘S± pan±vuso, niµµh± sadosassa ud±hu v²tadosass±’ti? Samm± by±karam±n±, bhikkhave, aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± eva½ by±kareyyu½– ‘v²tadosass±vuso, s± niµµh±, na s± niµµh± sadosass±’ti.
“‘S± pan±vuso, niµµh± samohassa ud±hu v²tamohass±’ti? Samm± by±karam±n±, bhikkhave, aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± eva½ by±kareyyu½– ‘v²tamohass±vuso, s± niµµh±, na s± niµµh± samohass±’ti.
“‘S± pan±vuso, niµµh± sataºhassa ud±hu v²tataºhass±’ti? Samm± by±karam±n±, bhikkhave, aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± eva½ by±kareyyu½– ‘v²tataºhass±vuso, s± niµµh±, na s± niµµh± sataºhass±’ti.
“‘S± pan±vuso, niµµh± sa-up±d±nassa ud±hu anup±d±nass±’ti? Samm± by±karam±n±, bhikkhave aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± eva½ by±kareyyu½– ‘anup±d±nass±vuso, s± niµµh±, na s± niµµh± sa-up±d±nass±’ti.
“‘S± pan±vuso, niµµh± viddasuno ud±hu aviddasuno’ti? Samm± by±karam±n±, bhikkhave, aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± eva½ by±kareyyu½– ‘viddasuno, ±vuso, s± niµµh±, na s± niµµh± aviddasuno’ti.
“‘S± pan±vuso, niµµh± anuruddhappaµiviruddhassa ud±hu ananuruddha-appaµiviruddhass±’ti? Samm± by±karam±n±, bhikkhave, aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± eva½ by±kareyyu½– ‘ananuruddha-appaµiviruddhass±vuso, s± niµµh±, na s± niµµh± anuruddhappaµiviruddhass±’ti.
“‘S± pan±vuso, niµµh± papañc±r±massa papañcaratino ud±hu nippapañc±r±massa nippapañcaratino’ti? Samm± by±karam±n±, bhikkhave, aññatitthiy± paribb±jak± eva½ by±kareyyu½– ‘nippapañc±r±mass±vuso, s± niµµh± nippapañcaratino, na s± niµµh± papañc±r±massa papañcaratino’ti.
142. “Dvem±, bhikkhave, diµµhiyo– bhavadiµµhi ca vibhavadiµµhi ca. Ye hi keci, bhikkhave, samaº± v± br±hmaº± v± bhavadiµµhi½ all²n± bhavadiµµhi½ upagat± bhavadiµµhi½ ajjhosit±, vibhavadiµµhiy± te paµiviruddh±. Ye hi keci, bhikkhave, samaº± v± br±hmaº± v± vibhavadiµµhi½ all²n± vibhavadiµµhi½ upagat± vibhavadiµµhi½ ajjhosit±, bhavadiµµhiy± te paµiviruddh±. Ye hi keci, bhikkhave, samaº± v± br±hmaº± v± im±sa½ dvinna½ diµµh²na½ samudayañca atthaªgamañca ass±dañca ±d²navañca nissaraºañca yath±bh³ta½ nappaj±nanti, ‘te sar±g± te sados± te samoh± te sataºh± te sa-up±d±n± te aviddasuno te anuruddhappaµiviruddh± te papañc±r±m± papañcaratino; te na parimuccanti j±tiy± jar±ya maraºena sokehi paridevehi dukkhehi domanassehi up±y±sehi; na parimuccanti dukkhasm±’ti vad±mi. Ye ca kho keci, bhikkhave, samaº± v± br±hmaº± v± im±sa½ dvinna½ diµµh²na½ samudayañca atthaªgamañca ass±dañca ±d²navañca nissaraºañca yath±bh³ta½ paj±nanti, ‘te v²tar±g± te v²tados± te v²tamoh± te v²tataºh± te anup±d±n± te viddasuno te ananuruddha-appaµiviruddh± te nippapañc±r±m± nippapañcaratino; te parimuccanti j±tiy± jar±ya maraºena sokehi paridevehi dukkhehi domanassehi up±y±sehi; parimuccanti dukkhasm±’ti vad±mi.
143. “Catt±rim±ni bhikkhave, up±d±n±ni. Katam±ni catt±ri? K±mup±d±na½, diµµhup±d±na½, s²labbatup±d±na½, attav±dup±d±na½. Santi, bhikkhave, eke samaºabr±hmaº± sabbup±d±napariññ±v±d± paµij±nam±n±. Te na samm± sabbup±d±napariñña½ paññapenti– k±mup±d±nassa pariñña½ paññapenti, na diµµhup±d±nassa pariñña½ paññapenti, na s²labbatup±d±nassa pariñña½ paññapenti, na attav±dup±d±nassa pariñña½ paññapenti. Ta½ kissa hetu? Im±ni hi te bhonto samaºabr±hmaº± t²ºi µh±n±ni yath±bh³ta½ nappaj±nanti. “Evar³pe kho, bhikkhave, dhammavinaye yo satthari pas±do so na sammaggato akkh±yati; yo dhamme pas±do so na sammaggato akkh±yati; y± s²lesu parip³rak±rit± s± na sammaggat± akkh±yati; y± sahadhammikesu piyaman±pat± s± na sammaggat± akkh±yati. Ta½ kissa hetu? Evañheta½, bhikkhave, hoti yath± ta½ durakkh±te dhammavinaye duppavedite aniyy±nike anupasamasa½vattanike asamm±sambuddhappavedite.
144. “Tath±gato ca kho, bhikkhave, araha½ samm±sambuddho sabbup±d±napariññ±v±do paµij±nam±no samm± sabbup±d±napariñña½ paññapeti– k±mup±d±nassa pariñña½ paññapeti, diµµhup±d±nassa pariñña½ paññapeti, s²labbatup±d±nassa pariñña½ paññapeti, attav±dup±d±nassa pariñña½ paññapeti. Evar³pe kho, bhikkhave, dhammavinaye yo satthari pas±do so sammaggato akkh±yati; yo dhamme pas±do so sammaggato akkh±yati; y± s²lesu parip³rak±rit± s± sammaggat± akkh±yati; y± sahadhammikesu piyaman±pat± s± sammaggat± akkh±yati. Ta½ kissa hetu? Evañheta½, bhikkhave, hoti yath± ta½ sv±kkh±te dhammavinaye suppavedite niyy±nike upasamasa½vattanike samm±sambuddhappavedite.
145. “Ime ca, bhikkhave, catt±ro up±d±n±. Ki½nid±n± ki½samuday± ki½j±tik± ki½pabhav±? Ime catt±ro up±d±n± taºh±nid±n± taºh±samuday± taºh±j±tik± taºh±pabhav±. Taºh± c±ya½, bhikkhave, ki½nid±n± ki½samuday± ki½j±tik± ki½pabhav±? Taºh± vedan±nid±n± vedan±samuday± vedan±j±tik± vedan±pabhav±. Vedan± c±ya½, bhikkhave, ki½nid±n± ki½samuday± ki½j±tik± ki½pabhav±? Vedan± phassanid±n± phassasamuday± phassaj±tik± phassapabhav±. Phasso c±ya½, bhikkhave, ki½nid±no ki½samudayo ki½j±tiko ki½pabhavo? Phasso sa¼±yatananid±no sa¼±yatanasamudayo sa¼±yatanaj±tiko sa¼±yatanapabhavo. Sa¼±yatanañcida½, bhikkhave, ki½nid±na½ ki½samudaya½ ki½j±tika½ ki½pabhava½? Sa¼±yatana½ n±mar³panid±na½ n±mar³pasamudaya½ n±mar³paj±tika½ n±mar³papabhava½. N±mar³pañcida½, bhikkhave, ki½nid±na½ ki½samudaya½ ki½j±tika½ ki½pabhava½? N±mar³pa½ viññ±ºanid±na½ viññ±ºasamudaya½ viññ±ºaj±tika½ viññ±ºapabhava½. Viññ±ºañcida½, bhikkhave ki½nid±na½ ki½samudaya½ ki½j±tika½ ki½pabhava½? Viññ±ºa½ saªkh±ranid±na½ saªkh±rasamudaya½ saªkh±raj±tika½ saªkh±rapabhava½. Saªkh±r± cime, bhikkhave, ki½nid±n± ki½samuday± ki½j±tik± ki½pabhav±? Saªkh±r± avijj±nid±n± avijj±samuday± avijj±j±tik± avijj±pabhav±.
“Yato ca kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno avijj± pah²n± hoti vijj± uppann±, so avijj±vir±g± vijjupp±d± neva k±mup±d±na½ up±diyati, na diµµhup±d±na½ up±diyati, na s²labbatup±d±na½ up±diyati, na attav±dup±d±na½ up±diyati. Anup±diya½ na paritassati, aparitassa½ paccattaññeva parinibb±yati. ‘Kh²º± j±ti, vusita½ brahmacariya½, kata½ karaº²ya½, n±para½ itthatt±y±’ti paj±n±t²”ti.
