Ajjhog±hat²ti anupavisati. Anekasata½ khattiyaparisanti bimbis±rasam±gama ñ±tisam±gama licchav²sam±gamasadisa½. Aññesupi cakkav±¼esu labbhatiyeva. Ki½ pana bhagav± aññ±ni cakkav±¼±nipi gacchat²ti? ¾ma gacchati. K²diso hutv±? Y±dis± te, t±disoyeva. Tenev±ha “abhij±n±mi kho pan±ha½, ±nanda, anekasata½ khattiyaparisa½ upasaªkamit±, tattha y±disako tesa½ vaººo hoti, t±disako mayha½ vaººo hoti. Y±disako tesa½ saro hoti, t±disako mayha½ saro hoti. Dhammiy± kath±ya sandassemi sam±dapemi samuttejemi sampaha½semi. Bh±sam±nañca ma½ na j±nanti ‘ko nu kho aya½ bh±sati devo v± manusso v±’ti. Dhammiy± kath±ya sandassetv± sam±dapetv± samuttejetv± sampaha½setv± antaradh±y±mi Antarahitañca ma½ na j±nanti ‘ko nu kho aya½ antarahito devo v± manusso v±”’ti (d². ni. 2.172).
Khattiy± key³raªgadam±l±gandh±divibh³sit± n±n±vir±gavasan± ±mukkamaºikuº¹al± mo¼idhar± honti. Ki½ bhagav±pi eva½ att±na½ maº¹eti? Te ca od±t±pi honti k±¼±pi ma½gulacchav²pi. Ki½ satth±pi evar³po hot²ti? Satth± attano pabbajitavaseneva gacchati, tesa½ pana t±diso hutv± upaµµh±ti, gantv± r±j±sane nisinna½ att±na½ dasseti, tesa½ “ajja amh±ka½ r±j± ativiya virocat²”ti hoti. Te ca bhinnassar±pi honti gaggassar±pi k±kassar±pi. Satth± brahmassareneva dhamma½ katheti. T±disako mayha½ saro hot²ti ida½ pana bh±santara½ sandh±ya kathita½. Manuss±na½ pana ta½ sutv± “ajja r±j± madhurena sarena kathet²”ti hoti. Kathetv± pakkante ca bhagavati puna r±j±na½ ±gata½ disv± “ko nu kho ayan”ti v²ma½s± uppajjati.
Ida½ vutta½ hoti– ko nu kho aya½ imasmi½ µh±ne id±neva m±gadhabh±s±ya s²ha¼abh±s±ya madhurena sarena kathento antarahito, ki½ devo, ud±hu manussoti? Kimattha½ paneva½ aj±nant±na½ dhamma½ deset²ti? V±sanatth±ya. Eva½ sutopi hi dhammo an±gate paccayo hotiyev±ti an±gata½ paµicca deset²ti.
Sannisinnapubbanti saªgamma nisinnapubba½. Sallapitapubbanti ±l±pasall±po katapubbo. S±kacch±ti dhammas±kacch±pi sam±pajjitapubb±. Anekasata½ br±hmaºaparisanti-±d²nampi soºadaº¹asam±gam±divasena ceva aññacakkav±¼avasena ca sambhavo veditabbo.
