Tattha yad± vin±yako garu¼o, tad± tu n±go pannagos²ti viruddha½, pakkhantare tvaviruddha½ bhagavato ±gussa r±g±dino abh±vato. Imesa½ gunna½ atisayena go gotamo h²napasu, gotamava½s±vatiººatt± gotamo bhagav± ca. H²napasu ca tva½ mah±mati as²ti viruddha½ accantah²napasuno mahatiy± paññ±ya abh±vato. Pakkhantare tu na by±gh±to. Paº²to madhuro raso, uttamo ca sugato. Tattha madhurarasato apeto apagatos²ti virujjhati, bhagavato tu rasehi siªg±r±d²hi apetoti yujjati. Me mama. S±m²ti ±mantana½. Te tava gati pavatti citt± abbhut±ti. Ettha viruddhatthantara½ virodh±laªk±ra½ sil±ghan²yanti tena ta½ parihaµa½.
71. Yath± v± uttadosassa parih±ro ²diso v±. “Vin±yako”cc±di. He s±mi tva½ vin±yakopi garu¼opi n±gosi pannago asi. No ce, vin±yakopi satte vinento eva n±gosi nikkileso asi. Gotamopi pasutamopi mah±mati mah±paññav±si. No ce, gotamopi gottato gotamoyeva mah±mati mah±paññav±si. Paº²topi madhuropi ras±peto madhurarasato apagatosi. No ce, paº²topi uttamo eva ras±peto siªg±r±dirasato apagatosi. Te tuyha½ gati pavatti me mayha½ citt± acchariy±. Ettha garu¼assa n±gattañca pasutamassa paññavantattañca paº²tassa nirasattañca viruddha½, tath±pi aññapakkhassa aviruddhatt± viruddhatthantaradoso pasatthena viruddh±laªk±rena nir±kato. 72. “Katha”micc±di. Dujjano t±dino guº± loka½ tosenti, t±d²na½ guº±na½ attani abh±ve sati loka½ sattaloka½ katha½ toseti, na toset²ti attho. Vuttamevatthantarena s±dheti “khajjoto n±ma obh±sit± d²pit± asesadis± yena tath±vidho ki½ bhave, na bhaveyya t±dino guºassa abh±vato”ti. Ettha khajjotassa adhikatthabh±vena sito obh±sit±sesadisattadoso “katha½ t±diguº±bh±ve”ti-±divacobhaªgiy± parihaµo.
72. Ajhatthassa yath±ti ettha parih±ro ajjh±h±ro, evamuparipi. “Kathi”cc±di. Dujjano guºah²najano t±diguº±bh±ve santosajananak±raº±na½ t±dis±na½ s²l±diguº±na½ attani avijjam±natte sati loka½ sattaloka½ katha½ toseti, na tosetiyeva, tath± hi khajjoto n±ma obh±sit±sesadiso ki½ bhave, na bhavatyeva. Ettha khajjotassa sakaladisobh±sanasaªkh±tamadhikatthadoso “katha½ t±diguº±bh±ve”cc±div±kyal²l±ya nir±kato. T±d² ca te guº± ceti viggaho.

Piy± vallabh±ya ±liªgita½ ka½ jana½ sukha½ k±yika½ cetasikañca no ±liªgati na sa½yujjati nu. Nuiti parivitakke nip±to. Ettha piy±ti kiliµµha½ pahe¼ik±ya sam±ropena parihaµa½.
73. “Pahe¼ike”cc±di. Kiliµµhat± kiliµµhapadadosasaªkh±t± pahe¼ik±ya½ visaye ±ru¼h± ce, na hi duµµh± duµµh± na hoti. Kimud±haraºa½? Piy± sukh±liªgita½ kam±liªgati nu no iti, itisaddassa nidassanatthatt± sesa-ud±haraº±nametamupalakkhaºanti ñ±tabba½. No ce, eva½pak±r±namud±haraº±namapariggahetabbatt± itisaddo pak±ratthoti. Ettha jalaj±na½ thaluppattikathanasaªkh±ta½ desavirodha½ acinteyyapuññappabh±vena ²dis±na½ acchariy±na½ p±tubh±vato “bodhisattappabh±ven±”ti imin± nir±karoti. Bodhiya½ catumaggapaññ±ya½ sattoti ca, tassa pabh±voti ca, sucira½ ±v±soti ca, tena bh³to klesoti ca v±kya½.
