Yassa visesato anicc±nupassan± tikkh± s³r± hoti, tassa saddhindriya½ adhimatta½ hoti. “Anicc± saªkh±r±”ti hi ±dito saddh±mattakena paµipajjitv± vipassan±ya ukka½sagat±ya tarupallav±d²su viya maºikanak±d²supi tesa½ aniccata½ s±tisaya½ paccakkhato passato “samm±sambuddho vata so bhagav±”ti satthari saddh± balavat² pavattat²ti so adhimokkhabahulo, adhimattasaddho ca hoti. Tassa anicc±nupassan±bahulat±ya anicc±k±rato vuµµh±na½ hot²ti so “animitta½ vimokkha½ paµilabhat²”ti vutta½. Passaddhibahuloti dukkh±nupassana½ anuyuñjanto “dukkh± saªkh±r±, tappaµipakkhato sukho nirodho”ti ca manasik±ravasena nibb±nassa santapaº²tasukhabh±va½ adhimuccanto abhiºha½ p²tip±mojjasam±yogato passaddhibahulo hoti. Tato ca adhimattasam±dhindriyapaµil±bhena r±gapaºidhiy± d³r²bh±vato appaºihitavimokkhasamadhigamo hot²ti vutta½ “dukkhato…pe… paµilabhat²”ti. Vedabahuloti anatt±nupassana½ anuyuñjanto attasuññat±ya nipuºañ±ºavisayatt± ñ±ºabahulo hoti. Tato ca adhimattapaññindriyapaµil±bhena mohassa d³r²bh±vato suññatavimokkhasamadhigamo hot²ti ±ha “anattato…pe… paµilabhat²”ti.
Yo anicc±nupassan±ya nimittavasena saªkh±re pariggahetv± vipassana½ anuyuñjanto yattha ida½ saªkh±ranimitta½ sabbaso natthi, ta½ “animitta½ nibb±nan”ti animitt±k±rena adhimuccanto vuµµh±nag±minimaggena ghaµeti. Tassa maggo animittato nibb±na½ sacchikarot²ti vuccat²ti ±ha “animitt±k±rena nibb±na½ ±rammaºa½ katv± pavatto ariyamaggo”ti. Sv±ya½ nibb±nassa animitt±k±ro neva maggena kato, na vipassan±ya, atha kho sabh±vasiddho. Tad±rammaºat±ya ca maggo animittoti vuccat²ti dassento ±ha “animitt±ya dh±tuy± uppannatt± animitto”ti. Yo dukkh±nupassan±vasena paºidhiy± d³r²bh±vakaraºena appaºihita½ adhimuccanto yo anatt±nupassan±vasena att³paladdhiy± d³r²bh±vakaraºena suññata½ adhimuccantoti ca ±din± yojetabba½. Ten±ha “eteneva nayen±”ti-±di.
770. Yadi ariyamaggo tividhampi vimokkhan±ma½ labhati, atha kasm± abhidhamme vimokkhadvayameva ±gatanti codana½ sandh±y±ha “ya½ pan±”ti-±di. Tattha tanti abhidhamme vimokkhadvayavacana½. Nippariy±yato vipassan±gamana½ sandh±y±ti ujukameva vipassanato maggassa n±m±gamana½ sandh±ya vutta½. Kasm±? Animittavipassan± ±gaman²yaµµh±ne µhatv± attano maggassa n±ma½ d±tu½ na sakkoti. K±ma½ sutte “animittañca bh±vehi, m±n±nusayamujjah±”ti (su. ni. 344) animittavipassan± kathit±, s± pana niccanimittadhuvanimitta-attanimitt±ni uggh±µent²pi saya½ nimittadhammesu eva carat²ti sanimitt±va hot²ti. Apica abhidhammo n±ma paramatthadesan±, animittamaggassa ca paramatthato hetuvekallameva. Anicc±nupassan±vasena hi animittavimokkho kathito. Tattha ca saddhindriya½ adhimatta½ hoti, ta½ ariyamagge ekaªgampi na hoti, amaggaªgatt± attano maggassa n±ma½ d±tu½ na sakkoti. Itaresu dukkh±nupassan±ya vasena appaºihitavimokkho, anatt±nupassan±ya vasena suññatavimokkho.
Tesu appaºihitavimokkhena sam±dhindriya½, suññatavimokkhena paññindriya½ adhimatta½ hot²ti t±ni ariyamaggassa aªgatt± attano maggassa n±ma½ d±tu½ sakkonti, na animittamaggo tadabh±vatoti keci. Ye pana vadanti “animittamaggo ±gamanato n±ma½ alabhantopi saguºato ca ±rammaºato ca n±ma½ labhat²”ti, tesa½ matena appaºihitasuññatamagg±pi saguºato eva, ±rammaºato eva ca n±ma½ labheyyunti? Ta½ ayutta½. Kasm±? Maggo hi dv²hi k±raºehi n±ma½ labhati sarasato ca paccan²kato c±ti, sabh±vato ca paµipakkhato c±ti attho. Appaºihitamaggo hi r±gapaºidhi-±d²hi vimutto, suññatamaggo r±g±d²hi suñño ev±ti te sarasato n±ma½ labhanti. Tath± appaºihitamaggo paºidhissa paµipakkho, suññatamaggo att±bhinivesassa ev±ti te paccan²kato n±ma½ labhanti, animittamaggo pana r±g±dinimitt±na½, niccanimitt±d²na½ v± abh±vena sarasato eva n±ma½ labhati, no paccan²kato. Na hi so saªkh±ranimitt±rammaº±ya anicc±nupassan±ya paµipakkho, s± panassa anulomabh±ve µhit±ti sabbath±pi abhidhammapariy±yena animittamaggo na labbhati. Tena vutta½ “ta½ nippariy±yato vipassan±gamana½ sandh±y±”ti.
Yasm± suttantapariy±yena animittamaggo labbhati. Vuµµh±nag±min² hi vipassan± ya½ ya½ sammasant² vuµµh±na½ gacchati, tassa tassa vasena ±gaman²yaµµh±ne µhatv± attano maggassa n±ma½ deti, tattha aniccato vuµµhahantassa maggo animitto hoti, dukkhato vuµµhahantassa appaºihito, anattato vuµµhahantassa suññato, tasm± suttantasa½vaººan± es±ti katv± idha tayopi vimokkh± uddhaµ±. Ya½ pana paµisambhid±magge abhinivesanimittapaºidhimuñcana½ up±d±ya tissannampi anupassan±na½ tad±gamanavasena tadanvayassa maggassa ca suññatavimokkh±dibh±vo niddiµµho, tassa pariy±yabh±ve vattabbameva natth²ti dassetu½ “vipassan±ñ±ºa½ h²”ti-±di vutta½. Vipassan±ñ±ºa½ paµisambhid±magge “appaºihito, vimokkho”ti ca kiñc±pi vuttanti sambandho.
Anicc±nupassan±ñ±ºanti “anicc± saªkh±r±”ti anupassan±vasena pavattañ±ºa½. Niccato abhinivesa½ muñcat²ti “te nicc±”ti nicc±k±rato pavattamicch±bhinivesaviddha½sanavasena, tadanvaya½ pana maggañ±ºa½ samucchedavasena muñcati. It²ti tasm±. Anicc±bhinivesato rittat±ya, vimuttat±ya ca suññato vimokkho. Sesapadesupi eseva nayo.
Tanti tividha½ vipassan±ñ±ºa½. Tattha yassa pariy±yato, yassa ca nippariy±yato n±mal±bho, ta½ dassetu½ “saªkh±ranimittass±”ti-±di vutta½. Na nippariy±yena, atha kho pariy±yen±ti attho. Tasm±ti nippariy±yakath±bh±vato. Vimokkhadvayameva vutta½ abhidhammeti adhipp±yo. Etth±ti etasmi½ vipassan±dhik±re. “Tividhavimokkhamukhabh±va½ ±pajjitv±”ti etasmi½ v± uddesavacane.
771. Tesa½ vibh±g±y±ti tesa½ yath±vutt±na½ sattanna½ ariyapuggal±na½ saddh±nus±ri-±dibh±vena vibhattasabh±vat±ya.
772. Saddhindriya½ paµilabhat²ti saddh±nus±ribh±vit±k±raºabh³ta½ adhimatta½ saddhindriya½ paµilabhati. Adhimokkhabahulat±ya, saddhindriy±dhimattat±ya ca k±raºa½ heµµh± vuttameva. Apica ayamettha saªkhepattho– anicc±k±rasallakkhaºassa saddh±bhibuddhiy± upanissayabh±vato tadanvaye magge saddh± tikkhatar± hoti, tena aµµhamako saddh±nus±r² n±ma hoti. Sesesu sattasu µh±nes³ti paµhamaphalato paµµh±ya y±va aggaphal± sattasu µh±nesu. “Sattasu µh±nes³”ti kasm± vutta½, nanu sesesu chasu µh±nesu saddh±vimutto, aggaphale pana sac±ya½ ar³pajjh±nal±bh², ubhatobh±gavimutto hoti, no ce ar³pajjh±nal±bh², paññ±vimutto, na saddh±vimutto. “Katamo ca puggalo saddh±vimutto? Idhekacco puggalo ‘ida½ dukkhan’ti yath±bh³ta½ paj±n±ti, ‘aya½ dukkhasamudayo’ti, ‘aya½ dukkhanirodho’ti, ‘aya½ dukkhanirodhag±min² paµipad±’ti yath±bh³ta½ paj±n±ti. Tath±gatappavedit± cassa dhamm± paññ±ya diµµh± honti, paññ±ya cassa disv± ekacce ±sav± parikkh²º± honti, no ca kho yath±diµµhippattassa. Aya½ vuccati puggalo saddh±vimutto”ti (pu. pa. 208)–

Ekacc±savaparikkhayavacanato saddh±vimuttassa sekkhabh±vo viññ±yati, na asekkhabh±vo. Aµµhakath±yañca “dve dhur±ni, dve abhinives±, dve s²s±n²”ti vacanato natthi arahato saddh±vimuttat±ti? Saccameta½ nippariy±yato. Nippariy±yakath± hi abhidhammo, idha pana pariy±yena eva½ vutta½. Yadi pariy±yato arahato saddh±vimuttat±, ko pana so pariy±yo? Saddh±vimuttanvayat±. Yo hi aggamaggakkhaºe saddh±vimutto hoti, so aggaphalakkhaºepi tadanvayat±ya saddh±vimuttoti paµisambhid±magge pariy±yena vuttoti idh±pi tatheva vutta½. Atha v± saddh±vimuttasadisat±ya arah± saddh±vimutto. K± panettha sadisat±? Yath± saddh±vimuttassa sekkhassa kilesakkhayo kuºµhena asin± kadalicchedasadiso “no ca kho yath±diµµhippattass±”ti vacanato, eva½ tadanvayass±pi arahatoti ayamettha sadisat±. Ki½ pana nesa½ kilesapah±ne n±natta½ atth²ti? Natthi. Atha kasm± saddh±vimutto diµµhippatta½ na p±puº±t²ti? ¾gaman²yan±nattena. Diµµhippatto hi ±gamanamhi kilese vikkhambhento appakasirena akilamanto vikkhambhetu½ sakkoti, saddh±vimutto kicchena kasirena vikkhambhetu½ sakkoti. Apica paññ±yapi nesa½ vemattat±.
