S± pana yuttappayuttat± samathavasen±pi hot²ti ±ha “±raddhavipassakass±”ti. Uppajjantiyeva na nuppajjanti aññath± magg±maggañ±ºasseva asambhavato.
Obh±s±d²su “ariyadhammo”ti pavatta½ uddhacca½ vikkhepo dhammuddhacca½, tena dhammuddhaccena vipassan±v²thito ukkamanena vir³pa½ gahita½ pavattita½ m±nasa½ dhammuddhaccaviggahitam±nasa½. Obh±so dhammoti k±raº³pac±ren±ha, ²disa½ obh±sa½ vissajjento mama ariyamaggoti attho. Obh±sa½ ±vajjati “nibb±nan”ti v± “maggo”ti v± “phalan”ti v±. Nibb±nanti gaºhanto tattha pavattadhamme maggaphalabh±vena gaºh±ti, ñ±º±dike pana maggaphalabh±veneva gaºh±ti. Tato vikkhepo uddhaccanti tato obh±sahetu yo vikkhepo, ta½ uddhaccanti attho. “Uddhaccena viggahitam±naso”ti saªkhepato vuttamattha½ vivaritu½ “aniccato”ti-±di vutta½.
Tattha anicca…pe… nappaj±n±ti “magga½ pattosm²”ti saññ±ya aniccat±divasena manasik±rasseva abh±vato. Ayañca attho–
“Yo hi koci, ±vuso, bhikkhu v± bhikkhun² v± mama santike arahattappatti½ by±karoti, sabbo so cat³hi maggehi, etesa½ v± aññatarena. Katamehi cat³hi? Idh±vuso, bhikkhu samathapubbaªgama½ vipassana½ bh±veti, tassa samathapubbaªgama½ vipassana½ bh±vayato maggo sañj±yati, so ta½ magga½ ±sevati bh±veti bahul²karoti. Tassa ta½ magga½ ±sevato…pe… karoto sa½yojan±ni pah²yanti anusay± byant²honti.

“Puna capara½, ±vuso, bhikkhuno dhammuddhaccaviggahita½ m±nasa½ hoti, hoti so, ±vuso, samayo ya½ ta½ citta½ ajjhattameva santiµµhati sannis²dati ekodi hoti sam±dhiyati, tassa maggo sañj±yati…pe… anusay± byant²hont²”ti (a. ni. 4.170)–

733. Vipassanobh±soti vipassan±cittasamuµµhita½, sasantatipatita½ utusamuµµh±nañca bh±sura½ r³pa½. Tattha vipassan±cittasamuµµhita½ yogino sar²raµµhameva pabhassara½ hutv± tiµµhati, itara½ sar²ra½ muñcitv± ñ±º±nubh±v±nur³pa½ samantato pattharati, ta½ tasseva paññ±yati, tena phuµµhok±se r³pagatampi passati, passanto ca cakkhuviññ±ºena passati, ud±hu manoviññ±ºen±ti v²ma½sitabbanti vadanti. Dibbacakkhul±bhino viya ta½ manoviññ±ºaviññeyyamev±ti vutta½ viya dissat²ti. Vipassan±v²thi n±ma paµip±µiy± pavattam±n± vipassan±va. Ukkant± n±ma hoti yogin± “maggappattomh²”ti adhim±nena vissaµµhatt±, tassa v± yogino vipassan± tato eva v²thi ukkant± n±ma hoti. M³lakammaµµh±nanti vipassanamev±ha.
Vemattat±y±ti appavipulat±vasena visadisat±ya. Ass±ti obh±sassa. Dv²hi kuµµehi paricchinna½ geha½ dvikuµµageha½. Tassa kira abbhantarepi ek± bhitti hoti bahipi, ubhinna½ antare anupariy±yapatha½ hoti, s±yanhe tattha santharit±ni pañcavaºº±ni kusum±ni, visadañ±ºassa obh±sena pharitaµµh±ne r³pagatañca dibbacakkhuno viya paññ±yanti. Tena vutta½ “bhante mayhan”ti-±di.

Div±saneti div±µµh±ne nis²ditabba-±sane. Paµhama½ “pañha½ pucchiss±m²”ti cintitatt± vutta½ “pañha½, bhante, pucchitu½ ±gatomh²”ti.
Pacch± up±yena puthujjanabh±va½ viññ±petv± kammaµµh±ne niyojess±m²ti cintitatt± vutta½ “avassayo bhaviss±miccev±ha½ ±gato”ti, tassa ca padh±natt± s±vadh±raºa½ katv± vutta½. Aya½ dhammoti aya½ ariyamagg±nugato paµisambhid±dhammoti therassa ajjh±sayavasena vadati. Sam±dhinti abhiññ±sam±dhi½. Añcitakaººoti niccalaµµhapitakaººapuµo. Pal±yitu½ ±raddho bhayena. Yasm± udayabbay±nupassan±ya v²thipaµipann±ya anukkamena pañca p²tiyo uppajjanti, tasm± vutta½ “aya½ pañca…pe… uppajjat²”ti. Matthakappattena pana udayabbayañ±ºena saddhi½ pharaº±p²tiyeva hoti. Upac±rappan±kkhaºato aññad±pi hi pharaº±p²ti hotiyeva. Ten±ha “sakalasar²ra½ p³rayam±n± uppajjat²”ti.
Passaddhi-±d²ni cha yuga¼ak±ni aññamaññ±viyogin²ti passaddhiy± uppann±ya itar±pi uppann± eva hont²ti kiccadassanamukhena t± sabb±pi dassento “k±yacitt±na½ neva daratho, na g±ravan”ti-±dim±ha. Tattha k±yaggahaºena r³pak±yassapi gahaºa½ veditabba½, na vedan±dikkhandhattayasseva. K±yappassaddhi-±dayo hi r³pak±yass±pi darath±dinimmaddik±ti. K±yacitt±ni passaddh±ni…pe… ujuk±niyeva honti tesa½ apassaddh±dibh±vassa hetubh³t±na½ uddhacc±dithinamiddh±didiµµhim±n±disesan²varaº±di-assaddhiy±dim±y±s±theyy±disa½kilesadhamm±na½ vidhamanavasena tad± vipassan±cittupp±dassa pavattanato. Suññ±g±ranti ya½ kiñci vivitta½ sen±sana½, vipassana½ eva v±. S±pi hi niccabh±v±disuññat±ya, yogino sukhasannissayat±ya ca “suññ±g±ran”ti vattabbata½ labhati. Cittassa anupassanakar±na½ kiles±na½ vigamena santacittassa. Sa½s±re bhayassa ikkhanena bhikkhuno. Samm± ñ±yena r³p±r³padhamm±na½ udayabbay±nupassan±divasena vipassato. Sammasato an±raddhavipassan±na½ manuss±na½ avisayat±ya am±nus². Vipassan±p²tisukhasaññit± rati hot²ti ayamettha g±th±ya saªkhepattho. Dutiyag±th± pana udayabbayañ±ºameva sandh±ya vutt±. Tattha yato yatoti r³pato v± ar³pato v±.
Vipassan±sukhanti vipassan±cittasampayutta½ cetasikasukha½. Yasm± ta½samuµµhitehi atipaº²tar³pehi sabbo k±yo pariphuµo, paribr³hito ca hoti. Tasm± vutta½ “sakalasar²ra½ abhisandayam±nan”ti.
Adhimokkhoti saddh±, na yev±panak±dhimokkhoti adhipp±yo. S± cettha na kammaphala½, ratanattaya½ v± saddahanavasena pavatt±, atha kho kilesak±lussiy±pagamena sampayutt±na½ ativiya pasannabh±vahetubh³t±. Ten±ha “vipassan±sampayutt±…pe… saddh± uppajjat²”ti.
Purimuppannabh±van±balasa½siddha½ samappavatta½ v²riya½ sampayuttadhamm±na½ sa½kilesapakkhato kosajjato paggaºhanato paggaho. Ten±ha “paggahoti v²riyan”ti-±di.
Supaµµhit±ti sabh±vasallakkhaºena ±rammaºe suµµhu upaµµhit±. Supatiµµhit±ti paµipakkhavigamena tena acalan²yat±ya suµµhu patiµµhit±. Tato eva nikh±t± viya acal±. Acalabh±veneva pabbatar±jasadis±ti t²hipi padehi supatiµµhitameva dasseti. Soti yog±vacaro. Ya½ ya½ µh±nanti ya½ ya½ attano upatiµµh±naµµh±na½ r³pa½ v± ar³pa½ v±. Okkhanditv±ti anupavisitv±. Pakkhinditv±ti tasseva vevacana½. Dibbacakkhuno paribhaº¹abh³tassa yath±kamm³pagañ±ºassa upaµµhahante paralokasaññite satte sandh±y±ha “dibbacakkhuno paraloko viy±”ti na dibbacakkhuno paralokavisayatt±. Vaºº±yatanavisayañhi tanti. Assa sati upaµµh±ti kh±yati, upatiµµhat²ti v± attho. Yadaggena hi sati ±rammaºa½ okkhanditv± upatiµµhati, tadaggena ±rammaºampissa okkhanditv± upatiµµhat²ti vuccati.
Vicinitavisayatt± saªkh±r±na½ vicinane majjhattabh±vena µhit± vipassanupekkh±. S± pana atthato tath±pavatt± tatramajjhattupekkh±va. Manodv±r±vajjanacittasampayutt± cetan± ±vajjane ajjhupekkhanavasena pavattiy± “±vajjanupekkh±”ti vutt±. Udayabbay±na½ suµµhutara½ upaµµh±nato tadanupassan±ya½ majjhattabh³t± idha vipassanupekkh± n±ma. Te pana udayabbay± sabbasaªkh±r±nanti ±ha “sabbasaªkh±resu majjhattabh³t±”ti. ¾vajjan±ya indavajiratattan±r±casadisat±, s³ratikkhabh±vo ca sabbaññutaññ±ºapurecar± viya tadanucarañ±ºassa tath±bh±vena daµµhabb±.
Vipassan±nikant²ti vipassan±ya nik±man± apekkh±. Obh±s±dayo vipassan±ya vijambhanabh³t± tass± alaªk±ro viya hont²ti ±ha “obh±s±dipaµimaº¹it±y±”ti. ¾layanti apekkha½. Sukhum±, sant±k±r±ti sukhum±k±r±, sant±k±r± ca, s± cass± sukhumasant±k±rat± bh±van±ya s±tisayappavattiy±, yato kilesabh±vopiss± duviññeyyo hoti. Ten±ha “y± nikanti kilesoti…pe… hot²”ti.

Na v±pi hi upakkiles± ekakkhaºepi uppajjanti, paccavekkhaº± pana visu½ visu½ hoti. “Na vata me ito pubbe evar³p± nikanti uppannapubb±”ti ida½ dhammasabh±vadassanavasena vutta½, na pana tad± yogino tath±cittappavattivasena. Na hi so tad± ta½ “nikant²”ti j±n±ti, tath± sati tabbisayassa “maggappattomh²”ti-±diggahaºassa asambhavo eva. Tasm± evamassa siy± “na vata me evar³p± bh±van±bhirati uppannapubb±, addh± maggappattomh²”ti.
735. Upakkilesavatthut±y±ti nippariy±yato diµµhim±nataºh± idha upakkiles± tesa½ vatthut±ya uppattiµµh±nat±ya. Na sabh±vatoti ±ha “na akusalatt±”ti. Yath± pana obh±s±dayo, eva½ nikantipi diµµhig±h±d²na½ µh±na½ hot²ti vutta½ “upakkilesavatthu c±”ti. Vatthuvasenev±ti g±he an±masitv± g±h±na½ vatthut±vaseneva. Attav±d² hi “aha½buddhinibandhano”ti parikappito att± obh±sassa s±mibh³to “mam±”ti s±mivacanassa visayabh±vena gahitoti ±ha “mama obh±so uppannoti gaºhato hi diµµhig±ho”ti.
