Vitth±ritameva, tasm± tattha vitth±ritanay±nus±rena s²lavisuddhi samp±detabb±ti adhipp±yo. Upac±rasam±dhipi appan±sam±dhi viya vipassan±ya adhiµµh±nabh±vato cittavisuddhiyev±ti ±ha “sa-upac±r±”ti. Veditabb±ti attano sant±ne nibbattanavaseneva veditabb±. Evańhi t± paccakkhato vidit± n±ma honti, tasm± veditabb± samp±detabb±ti vutta½ hoti. Veditabb±ti v± sam±pattisukh±dhigamavasena anubhavitabb±ti attho. Na hi kevalena j±nanamattena cittavisuddhiya½ patiµµhito n±ma hoti, na ca tattha apatiµµh±ya uparivisuddhi½ samp±detu½ sakk±ti.
N±mar³p±na½ y±th±vadassananti n±massa, r³passa ca vibhajja yath±bh³tasabh±vadassana½. N±maggahaŗena cettha vedan±d²na½ catunna½ tebh³mak±na½ khandh±na½ gahaŗa½, na “vińń±ŗapaccay± n±mar³pan”ti ettha viya vińń±ŗa½ vin±, n±pi “n±mańca r³pańc±”ti (d². ni. 3.304, 352; dha. sa. dukam±tik± 109) ettha viya sanibb±nehi lokuttarakkhandhehi saddhinti daµµhabba½.
663. Y±ti pajjati eten±ti y±na½, samathova y±na½ samathay±na½, ta½ etassa atth²ti samathay±niko. Jh±ne, jh±n³pac±re v± patiµµh±ya vipassana½ anuyuńjantasseta½ n±ma½, tena samathay±nikena “Żhapetv± nevasańń±n±sańń±yatanan”ti ida½ bhavaggadhamm±na½ ±dikammikassa duppariggahat±ya vutta½. Lakkhaŗaras±divasena pariggahetabb± ń±ŗena paricchijja gahetabb±, pariggahavidhi pana khandhaniddese (visuddhi. 2.421 ±dayo) vutt± ev±ti adhipp±yo. ¾rammaŗ±bhimukhanamana½ ±rammaŗena vin± appavatti, tena namanaµµhena, n±makaraŗaµµhena v±. Vedan±dayo hi ar³padhamm± sabbad±pi ca phass±din±makatt± pathav²-±dayo viya kesakumbh±din±mantar±n±pajjanato attan±va katan±mat±ya n±makaraŗaµµhena “n±man”ti vuccanti. Atha v± adhivacanasamphasso viya adhivacana½ n±ma½ antarena anupacitasambh±r±na½ gahaŗa½ na gacchant²ti n±m±yattaggahaŗat±ya vedan±dayo “n±man”ti vuccanti, r³pa½ pana vin±pi n±masavana½ attano ruppanasabh±veneva gahaŗa½ gacchati. Vavatth±petabbanti asaŖkarato µhapetabba½, ańńamańńa½, r³pena ca amissita½ katv± citte µhapetabbanti attho.
N±mar³papariggaho ca n±ma y±vadeva tassa paµinissajjanatthanti tadanur³pameva nidassana½ dassento “yath± n±m±”ti-±dim±ha. Ruppanatoti ettha ruppanaµµho “s²t±divirodhipaccayasannip±te visadisuppatt²”ti-±din± (visuddhi. mah±µ². 2.432) khandhaniddesavaŗŗan±ya½ vuttoyeva. Eva½ visu½ n±mapariggaha½, r³papariggahańca dassetv± id±ni ekajjha½ n±mar³papariggaha½ dassetu½ “tato namanalakkhaŗan”ti-±di vutta½.
664. Iti ar³pamukhena vipassan±bhinivesa½ dassetv± id±ni r³pamukhena ta½ dassento “suddhavipassan±y±niko pan±”ti-±dim±ha. Tattha samathay±nikassa samathamukhena vipassan±bhiniveso, vipassan±y±nikassa pana samatha½ aniss±y±ti ±ha “suddhavipassan±y±niko”ti, samathabh±van±ya amissitavipassan±y±nav±ti attho. Ayameva v± samathay±nikoti yath±vutto samathay±niko eva v±. Tena samathay±nikass±pi r³pamukhena vipassan±bhiniveso labbhati, na ar³pamukhenev±ti dasseti. Tesa½ tesa½ dh±tupariggahamukh±nanti “ya½ thaddhalakkhaŗa½, aya½ pathav²dh±t³”ti-±din± (visuddhi. 1.308) saŖkhepamanasik±r±divasena vuttesu terasasu dh±tupariggahamukhesu. Dvatti½sakoµµh±sagatesu r³pesu p±kaµesu j±tesu tadańń±nipi p±kaµ±ni hont²ti t±nipi dassetu½ “apare”ti-±di vutta½. Tattha apare dasa ±k±r±ti tejov±yokoµµh±savasena apare dasa ±k±r±. Kammajeti bh³takathana½, na visesana½ asit±diparip±cakassa tejassa akammajassa abh±vato. Tath± cittajeti ca ekantacittasamuµµh±natt± ass±sapass±s±nanti keci, ta½ na, acittajasant±ne pavatt±na½ utujabh±vato. Seses³ti santappan±divasena ceva uddhaŖgam±divasena ca pavattesu tejov±yokoµµh±sesu.
Cakkhudasak±d²su padh±nar³pa½ cakkh±dayoti tesu labbham±na½ vatthudv±rabh±va½ avayavakicca½ samud±ye ±ropetv± vutta½ “vatthudv±ravasena pańca cakkhudasak±dayo”ti. Vatthuvasena hadayavatthudasakańc±ti yojetabba½, ekayoganiddiµµh±nampi ekadeso anuvattat²ti. Sabb±nip²ti yath±vuttagaŗan±ya½ catunnavuticatusat±dhik±ni sahassar³par³p±ni. Koµµh±s±vayav±na½ pana tadavayavakal±p±nańca bhede gayham±ne ativiya tato bahutaro r³pabhedo hoti, so pana bhedo idha ±dikammikassa duppariggahoti na gahetabbo.
K±ma½ vatthuvasen±pi ar³padhamm± p±kaµ± honti, dv±ravasena pana pariggaho an±kuloti katv± vutta½ “dv±ravasena ar³padhamm± p±kaµ± hont²”ti SabbasaŖg±hikavasena “ek±s²ti lokiyacitt±n²”ti vutta½, l±bhino eva pana mahaggatacitt±ni sup±kaµ±ni honti. Avisesen±ti s±dh±raŗato. Phass±dayo hi satta cetasik± cakkhuvińń±ŗ±d²hipi uppajjanato sabbacittupp±das±dh±raŗ±. Sabbepi teti ek±s²ti lokiyacitt±ni, ta½sampayuttaphass±dayoti sabbepi te ar³padhamme. ¾rammaŗ±divibh±gena pana cittupp±dabhede gayham±ne tato bahutaro eva hoti, so pana idha n±dhippeto.
665. Assa cakkhupas±dassa nissayabh³t± pana catasso dh±tuyoti sambandho. Sahaj±tar³p±ni tassa cakkhupas±dassa icceva sambandho. Tatthev±ti tasmi½yeva sasambh±racakkhupadese. Anup±dinnar³p±n²ti pubbe vuttar³p±na½ up±dinnar³patt± vutta½, akammajar³p±n²ti attho. Ses±n²ti paµhama½ cakkhuno vuttatt± tato ses±ni, tena pana saddhi½ catupańń±sa r³p±ni honti. Cakkhudasak±d²su ekassapi aggahetabbato “avases±ni tecatt±l²sa r³p±n²”ti vutta½. Saddassa aniyatatt± ta½ aggahetv± “tecatt±l²sa r³p±n²”ti vatv± puna utucittasamuµµh±ne dve sadde gahetv± “pańcacatt±l²s±”ti keciv±do dassito.

666. Cakkhudh±tuya½ vuttanayenev±ti “ya½ loko setakaŗhamaŗ¹alavicittan”ti-±din± (visuddhi. 2.665) vuttanayena.
667. Idha bhikkhu imasmi½ sar²reti ajjhatta½ vipassan±bhinivesadassanavasena vutta½. Teneva hi ekasseva bh±vassa gahitatt± “sattarasa r³p±ni sammasanupag±n²”ti ±ha. Sammasitu½ sakkuŗeyy±ni sammasana½ upagacchant²ti sammasanupag±ni, sammasan²y±n²ti attho. ¾k±ra-ggahaŗena vińńattidvaya½ vutta½, vik±ra-ggahaŗena lahut±dittaya½, itarena ±k±sadh±t³ti vadanti. ¾k±ra-ggahaŗena pana vińńattidvayena saddhi½ lakkhaŗar³pam±ha. Tampi hi r³p±na½ uppajjan±di-±k±ramattanti. Antaraparicchedoti ta½ta½kal±p±na½ asaŖkarak±raŗat±ya antarabh³to paricchedo Yadi na sammasanupag±ni, ±k±r±dimatt±ni ca, katha½ r³p±n²ti ±ha “apica kho”ti-±di.

Eva½ dv±catt±l²s±ya koµµh±s±na½ vasena vitth±rato r³papariggaha½ tadanus±rena vitth±rato eva n±mapariggaha½ vibh±vetv± tato sa½khittasa½khittatarasa½khittatamavasena, aµµh±rasadh±tuvasena, dv±das±yatanavasena, pańcakkhandhavasena ca r³p±r³papariggaha½ dassetv± atisa½khittanayen±pi dassetu½ “ya½ kińci r³pan”ti-±di vutta½.

K±ma½ vedan±d²su ar³padhammesu na uttaruttar± viya purimapurim± sukhum±, tath±pi saŖghaµµanena vik±ra-±pajjanake r³padhamme up±d±ya sabbepi te sukhum± ev±ti ±ha “sukhumatt± ar³pa½ na upaµµh±t²”ti. Sammasitabbanti sammadeva lakkhaŗ±dito v²ma½sitabba½. Manasik±tabbanti tath± citte µhapetabba½. Pariggahetabbanti paricchedak±rik±ya pańń±ya paricchijja gahetabba½. Vavatthapetabbanti ańńamańńa½ asaŖkarato vinicchitabba½.
