Piy±yitabbo piyo, tappaµipakkho appiyo. So saŖkhepato duvidho atthassa ak±rako, anatthassa k±rakoti. Tattha yo attano, piyassa ca anatthassa k±rako, so veripuggalo daµµhabbo. Atippiyasah±yaka½ majjhattaµµh±ne µhapento kilamat²ti r±gena bh±van±ya saparissayatam±ha atippiyasah±yassa gehassitapemaµµh±nabh±vato. Ten±ha “appamattakep²”ti-±di. Dukkh±panayanamodappavatt²supi eseva nayoti karuŗ±bh±van±d²nampi k±lakate anijjhana½ vuttanti daµµhabba½. Ańńattha paguŗamett±jh±no ±cariyassa k±lakatabh±va½ aj±nanto ta½ mett±ya pharituk±mo “±cariya½ ±rabbha metta½ ±rabhat²”ti vutto. Ten±ha “paguŗ±va me mett±jh±nasam±patt²”ti. Nimittanti ±rammaŗa½. Gaves±h²ti “ya½ puggala½ uddissametta½ ±rabhasi, so j²vati na j²vat²”ti j±n±h²ti attho. Mett±yantoti metta½ karonto, metta½ bh±ventoti attho.
241. Attani bh±van± n±ma sakkhibh±vatth±ti n±n±vidhasukh±nubandha-anavajjasukha-aby±sekasukh±di ya½ attani upalabbhati, ta½ nidassento tassa vattam±nat±ya ±ha “aha½ sukhito hom²”ti. Sar²rasukha½ n±ma anekantika½, ²disassa puggalassa anok±sa½ cittadukkhanti tadabh±va½ sandh±y±ha “niddukkhoti v±”ti. Hom²ti sambandho. Tath± averoti-±d²su, visesato ca dukkh±bh±ve sukhasańń±. S± pan±ya½ niddukkhat± ver²na½ puggal±na½ verasańńit±na½ p±padhamm±na½ abh±vato, visesato by±p±davirahato ²ghasańńit±ya ²tiy± abh±vato, anavajjak±yikasukhasamaŖgit±ya ca hot²ti dassento ±ha “avero aby±pajjo an²gho sukh²”ti. Att±na½ parihar±m²ti eva½bh³to hutv± mama attabh±va½ pavattemi, y±pem²ti attho.
Eva½ sante ya½ vibhaŖge vutta½, ta½ virujjhat²ti sambandho. Eva½ santeti eva½ sati, yadi attanipi mett± bh±vetabb±ti attho. “Ya½ vibhaŖge vuttan”ti vatv± vibhaŖgadesan±ya sam±nagatika½ suttapada½ ±haranto “kathańca bhikkh³”ti-±dim±ha. Tassattho parato ±gamissati.
Tanti vibhaŖg±d²su vacana½. Appan±vasen±ti appan±vahabh±van±vasena. Idanti “aha½ sukhito hom²”ti-±divacana½. Sakkhibh±vavasen±ti aha½ viya sabbe satt± attano sukhak±m±, tasm± tesu may± attani viya sukh³pasa½h±ro k±tabboti eva½ tattha att±na½ sakkhibh±ve µhapanavasena. Ten±ha “sacepi h²”ti-±di. Kasm± pana attani bh±van± appan±vah± na hot²ti? Attasinehavasena saparissayabh±vato. Koµµh±santare pana bh±vitabh±vanassa tatth±pi s²masambhedo hotiyeva.
Sabb± dis±ti anavases± dasapi dis±. Anuparigamma cetas±ti cittena pariyesanavasena anugantv±. Nevajjhag± piyataramattan± kvac²ti sabbuss±hena pariyesanto atisayena attato piyatara½ ańńa½ satta½ katthaci dis±ya neva adhigaccheyya na passeyya. Eva½ piyo puthu att± paresanti eva½ kassaci attato piyatarassa anupalabbhanavasena puthu visu½ visu½ tesa½ tesa½ satt±na½ att± piyo. Tasm± tena k±raŗena, attak±mo attano hitasukha½ icchanto, para½ satta½ antamaso kunthakipillikampi, na hi½se na haneyya, na viheµheyy±ti attho.

242. Sukhapavattanatthanti sukhena akicchena mett±ya pavattanattha½. Yv±ss±ti yo puggalo assa yogino. Piyoti iµµho. Man±poti manava¹¹hanako. Gar³ti guŗavisesavasena garuk±tabbo. Bh±van²yoti sambh±vetabbo. ¾cariyamattoti s²l±din± ±cariyappam±ŗo. Piyavacan±d²n²ti ±di-saddena atthacariy±dike saŖgaŗh±ti. S²lasut±d²n²ti ±di-saddena saddh±dike, dhutadhammaj±gariy±nuyog±dike ca saŖgaŗh±ti.
K±manti yuttappattak±rit±sukhasiddhid²panoya½ nip±to. Teneta½ d²peti– t±disa½ puggala½ uddissa bh±vana½ ±rabhanto yog² yuttappattak±r², sukhena cassa tattha bh±van± ijjhati, tena pana yogin± t±vat± santoso na k±tabboti. Ten±ha “appan± sampajjat²”ti-±di. S²m±sambhedanti mariy±d±panayana½, att± piyo majjhatto ver²ti vibh±g±karaŗanti attho. Tadanantaranti tato piyaman±pagarubh±van²yato, tattha v± mett±dhigamato anantara½. Atippiyasah±yake mett± bh±vetabb±ti sambandho, garuµµh±n²ye paµiladdha½ mett±manasik±ra½ atippiyasah±yake upasa½haritabbanti attho. Sukh³pasa½h±rakatassa ta½ hoti pageva paµipakkhadhamm±na½ vikkhambhitatt±. Atippiyasah±yakato anantara½ majjhatte mett± bh±vetabb± majjhatta½ piyagaruµµh±ne µhapetu½ sukarabh±vato. “Atippiyasah±yakato”ti ca ida½ purim±vattha½ gahetv± vutta½. Paguŗamanasik±r±dhigamato paµµh±ya hissa sopi piyaµµh±ne eva tiµµhati. Majjhattato ver²puggaleti majjhattapuggale mett±yantena tattha paguŗamanasik±r±dhigamena piyabh±va½ upasa½haritv± tadanantara½ ver²puggala½ bh±van±ya majjhatte µhapetv± tato majjhattato piyabh±v³pasa½h±rena ver²puggale mett± bh±vetabb±. “Ver²puggale”ti ca ida½ purim±vattha½ gahetv± vutta½. Mett±yantena paµigha½ paµivinodetabbanti ettha keci pana “upac±rajjh±na½ samp±detv±”ti attha½ vadanti, tesa½ upac±rajjh±nato vuµµh±nampi icchitabba½ siy± “vuµµhahitv±”ti vuttatt±. Pubbe tasmi½ puggale asatiy± amanasik±rena paµigha½ anupp±dentassa s±dh±raŗato ta½ vikkhambhetv± jh±nassa upp±dana½, sam±pajjanańca vutta½. Id±ni pana ta½ anussarantassapi manasi karontassapi yath± paµigha½ na uppajjati, ta½ vidhi½ dassetu½ ida½ vutta½ “ta½ puggala½ mett±yantena paµigha½ vinodetabban”ti.
