Devat± sakkhiµµh±ne µhapetv±ti “yath±r³p±ya maggen±gat±ya saddh±ya samann±gat±, s²lena sutena c±gena paññ±ya samann±gat± ito cut± tattha upapann± t± devat±, mayhampi tath±r³p± saddh± s²la½ suta½ c±go paññ± ca sa½vijjat²”ti devat± sakkhiµµh±ne µhapetv± sakkhi½ ot±rentena viya attano saddh±diguº± anussaritabb±.
Yadi eva½ sutte (a. ni. 6.10) ubhayaguº±nussaraºa½ vutta½, ta½ kathanti anuyoga½ manasi katv± ±ha “sutte pan±”ti-±di. Tattha kiñc±pi vuttanti “attano ca, t±sañca devat±nan”ti ubhaya½ samadhura½ viya sutte (a. ni. 6.10) kiñc±pi vutta½. Atha kho ta½ “devat±na½ saddhañca s²lañc±”ti-±divacana½. Sakkhiµµh±ne µhapetabbanti “vuttan”ti parato pada½ ±netv± sambandhitabba½. Kimattha½ pana sakkhiµµh±ne µhapananti ±ha “devat±na½ attano saddh±d²hi sam±naguºad²panatthanti veditabban”ti. Kasm± pana sutte yath±rutavasena attha½ aggahetv± eva½ attho gayhat²ti ±ha “aµµhakath±yañh²”ti-±di.
163. Tasm±ti yasm± aµµhakath±ya½ devat± sakkhiµµh±ne µhapetv± attano guº±nussaraºa½ da¼ha½ katv± vutta½, s²lac±g±nussat²su viya idh±pi attano guº±nussaraºa½ jh±nuppattinimitta½ yutta½, tasm±. Pubbabh±ge bh±van±rambhe. Aparabh±geti yath± bh±ventassa upac±rajjh±na½ ijjhati, tath± bh±van±k±le. Yadi attano eva idha guº± anussaritabb±, kathamaya½ devat±nussat²ti ±ha “devat±na½ guºasadisasaddh±diguº±nussaraºavasen±”ti. Tena sadisakappan±ya aya½ bh±van± “devat±nussat²”ti vutt±, na devat±na½, t±sa½ guº±na½ v± anussaraºen±ti dasseti. Pubbabh±ge v± pavatta½ devat±guº±nussaraºa½ up±d±ya “devat±nussat²”ti imiss± samaññ± veditabb±. Tath± hi vakkhati “pubbabh±ge devat± ±rabbha pavattacittavasen±”ti. Sesa½ suviññeyyameva.
