Tasm± yath± akkhacakkapañjara-²s±d²su aªgasambh±resu eken±k±rena saºµhitesu rathoti voh±ramatta½ hoti, paramatthato ekekasmi½ aªge upaparikkhiyam±ne ratho n±ma natthi. Yath± ca kaµµh±d²su gehasambh±resu eken±k±rena ±k±sa½ pariv±retv± µhitesu gehanti voh±ramatta½ hoti, paramatthato geha½ n±ma natthi. Yath± ca aªguli-aªguµµh±d²su eken±k±rena µhitesu muµµh²ti voh±ramatta½ hoti. Doºitanti-±d²su v²º±ti. Hatthi-ass±d²su sen±ti. P±k±ragehagopur±d²su nagaranti. Khandhas±kh±pal±s±d²su eken±k±rena µhitesu rukkhoti voh±ramatta½ hoti, paramatthato ekekasmi½ avayave upaparikkhiyam±ne rukkho n±ma natthi. Evameva½ pañcasu up±d±nakkhandhesu sati “satto, puggalo”ti voh±ramatta½ hoti, paramatthato ekekasmi½ dhamme upaparikkhiyam±ne “asm²ti v± ahanti v±”ti g±hassa vatthubh³to satto n±ma natthi. Paramatthato pana n±mar³pamattameva atth²ti. Eva½ passato hi dassana½ yath±bh³tadassana½ n±ma hoti.
674. Yo paneta½ yath±bh³tadassana½ pah±ya “satto atth²”ti gaºh±ti. So tassa vin±sa½ anuj±neyya avin±sa½ v±. Avin±sa½ anuj±nanto sassate patati. Vin±sa½ anuj±nanto ucchede patati. Kasm±? Kh²ranvayassa dadhino viya tadanvayassa aññassa abh±vato. So “sassato satto”ti gaºhanto ol²yati n±ma. “Ucchijjat²”ti gaºhanto atidh±vati n±ma. Ten±ha bhagav±–
“Dv²hi, bhikkhave, diµµhigatehi pariyuµµhit± devamanuss± ol²yanti eke, atidh±vanti eke, cakkhumanto ca passanti.
“Kathañca, bhikkhave, ol²yanti eke? Bhav±r±m±, bhikkhave, devamanuss± bhavarat± bhavasamudit±. Tesa½ bhavanirodh±ya dhamme desiyam±ne citta½ na pakkhandati nappas²dati na santiµµhati n±dhimuccati. Eva½ kho, bhikkhave, ol²yanti eke.
“Kathañca, bhikkhave, atidh±vanti eke? Bhaveneva kho paneke aµµ²yam±n± har±yam±n± jiguccham±n± vibhava½ abhinandanti, yato kira bho aya½ att± k±yassa bhed± ucchijjati vinassati, na hoti para½maraº±, eta½ santa½, eta½ paº²ta½, eta½ y±th±vanti. Eva½ kho, bhikkhave, atidh±vanti eke.
“Kathañca, bhikkhave, cakkhumanto passanti? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu bh³ta½ bh³tato passati, bh³ta½ bh³tato disv± bh³tassa nibbid±ya vir±g±ya nirodh±ya paµipanno hoti. Eva½ kho, bhikkhave, cakkhumanto passant²”ti (itivu. 49).
675. Tasm± yath± d±ruyanta½ suñña½ nijj²va½ nir²haka½, atha ca pana d±rurajjukasam±yogavasena gacchatipi tiµµhatipi. Sa-²haka½ saby±p±ra½ viya kh±yati, evamida½ n±mar³pampi suñña½ nijj²va½ nir²haka½, atha ca pana aññamaññasam±yogavasena gacchatipi tiµµhatipi. Sa-²haka½ saby±p±ra½ viya kh±yat²ti daµµhabba½. Ten±hu por±º±–
“N±mañca r³pañca idhatthi saccato,
na hettha satto manujo ca vijjati;
suñña½ ida½ yantamiv±bhisaªkhata½,
dukkhassa puñjo tiºakaµµhas±diso”ti.
Na kevalañceta½ d±ruyantupam±ya, aññ±hipi na¼akal±p²-±d²hi upam±hi vibh±vetabba½– yath± hi dv²su na¼akal±p²su aññamañña½ niss±ya µhapit±su ek± ekiss± upatthambho hoti, ekiss± patam±n±ya itar±pi patati, evameva½ pañcavok±rabhave n±mar³pa½ aññamañña½ niss±ya pavattati, eka½ ekassa upatthambho hoti. Maraºavasena ekasmi½ patam±ne itarampi patati. Ten±hu por±º±–
“Yamaka½ n±mar³pañca, ubho aññoññanissit±;
ekasmi½ bhijjam±nasmi½, ubho bhijjanti paccay±”ti.

Yath± ca daº¹±bhihata½ bheri½ niss±ya sadde pavattam±ne aññ± bher², añño saddo, bherisadd± asammiss±, bher² saddena suññ±, saddo bheriy± suñño, evameva½ vatthudv±r±rammaºasaªkh±ta½ r³pa½ niss±ya n±me pavattam±ne añña½ r³pa½, añña½ n±ma½, n±mar³p± asammiss±, n±ma½ r³pena suñña½, r³pa½ n±mena suñña½, apica kho bheri½ paµicca saddo viya r³pa½ paµicca n±ma½ pavattati. “Na cakkhuto j±yare phassapañcam±,
na r³pato no ca ubhinnamantar±;
hetu½ paµiccappabhavanti saªkhat±,
yath±pi saddo pahaµ±ya bheriy±.
“Na sotato j±yare phassapañcam±,

na gandhato no ca ubhinnamantar±…pe….
“Na jivh±to j±yare phassapañcam±,

“Na vatthur³p± pabhavanti saªkhat±,
na c±pi dhamm±yatanehi niggat±;
hetu½ paµiccappabhavanti saªkhat±,

677. Apicettha n±ma½ nitteja½ na sakena tejena pavattitu½ sakkoti, na kh±dati, na pivati, na by±harati, na iriy±patha½ kappeti. R³pampi nitteja½ na sakena tejena pavattitu½ sakkoti. Na hi tass± kh±dituk±mat±, n±pi pivituk±mat±, na by±harituk±mat±, na iriy±patha½ kappetuk±mat±, atha kho n±ma½ niss±ya r³pa½ pavattati, r³pa½ niss±ya n±ma½ pavattati, n±massa kh±dituk±mat±ya pivituk±mat±ya by±harituk±mat±ya iriy±patha½ kappetuk±mat±ya sati r³pa½ kh±dati, pivati, by±harati, iriy±patha½ kappeti.
Imassa panatthassa vibh±vanatth±ya ima½ upama½ ud±haranti– yath± jaccandho ca p²µhasapp² ca dis±pakkamituk±m± assu, jaccandho p²µhasappi½ evam±ha “aha½ kho bhaºe, sakkomi p±dehi p±dakaraº²ya½ k±tu½, natthi ca me cakkh³ni yehi samavisama½ passeyyan”ti. P²µhasapp²pi jaccandha½ evam±ha “aha½ kho bhaºe, sakkomi cakkhun± cakkhukaraº²ya½ k±tu½, natthi ca me p±d±ni yehi abhikkameyya½ v± paµikkameyya½ v±”ti. So tuµµhahaµµho jaccandho p²µhasappi½ a½sak³µa½ ±ropesi. P²µhasapp² jaccandhassa a½sak³µe nis²ditv± evam±ha “v±ma½ muñca dakkhiºa½ gaºha, dakkhiºa½ muñca v±ma½ gaºh±”ti. “Yath±pi n±va½ niss±ya, manuss± yanti aººave;
evameva r³pa½ niss±ya, n±mak±yo pavattati.
“Yath± ca manusse niss±ya, n±v± gacchati aººave;
evameva n±ma½ niss±ya, r³pak±yo pavattati.
“Ubho niss±ya gacchanti, manuss± n±v± ca aººave;
eva½ n±mañca r³pañca, ubho aññoññanissit±”ti.
Eva½ n±n±nayehi n±mar³pa½ vavatth±payato sattasañña½ abhibhavitv± asammohabh³miya½ µhita½ n±mar³p±na½ y±th±vadassana½ diµµhivisuddh²ti veditabba½. N±mar³pavavatth±nantipi saªkh±raparicchedotipi etasseva adhivacana½.
