Upasampann±na½ apariyantasikkh±pad±na½, ida½ apariyantap±risuddhis²la½. Katama½ paripuººap±risuddhis²la½? Puthujjanakaly±ºak±na½ kusaladhamme yutt±na½ sekkhapariyante parip³rak±r²na½ k±ye ca j²vite ca anapekkh±na½ pariccattaj²vit±na½, ida½ paripuººap±risuddhis²la½. Katama½ apar±maµµhap±risuddhis²la½? Sattanna½ sekkh±na½, ida½ apar±maµµhap±risuddhis²la½. Katama½ paµippassaddhip±risuddhis²la½? Tath±gatas±vak±na½ kh²º±sav±na½ paccekabuddh±na½ tath±gat±na½ arahant±na½ samm±sambuddh±na½, ida½ paµippassaddhip±risuddhis²lan”ti (paµi. ma. 1.37).
Tattha anupasampann±na½ s²la½ gaºanavasena sapariyantatt± pariyantap±risuddhis²lanti veditabba½. Upasampann±na½–
“Nava koµisahass±ni, as²tisatakoµiyo;
paññ±sasatasahass±ni, chatti½s± ca pun±pare.
“Ete sa½varavinay±, sambuddhena pak±sit±;
peyy±lamukhena niddiµµh±, sikkh± vinayasa½vare”ti.–
Eva½ gaºanavasena sapariyantampi anavasesavasena sam±d±nabh±vañca l±bhayasañ±ti-aªgaj²vitavasena adiµµhapariyantabh±vañca sandh±ya apariyantap±risuddhis²lanti vutta½, ciragumbav±sika-ambakh±dakamah±tissattherassa s²lamiva. Tath± hi so ±yasm±–
“Dhana½ caje aªgavarassa hetu, aªga½ caje j²vita½ rakkham±no;
aªga½ dhana½ j²vitañc±pi sabba½, caje naro dhammamanussaranto”ti.–
Ima½ sappuris±nussati½ avijahanto j²vitasa½sayepi sikkh±pada½ av²tikkamma tadeva apariyantap±risuddhis²la½ niss±ya up±sakassa piµµhigatova arahatta½ p±puºi. Yath±ha–
“Na pit± napi te m±t±, na ñ±ti napi bandhavo;
karotet±disa½ kicca½, s²lavantassa k±raº±.
Sa½vega½ janayitv±na, sammasitv±na yoniso;
tassa piµµhigato santo, arahatta½ ap±puº²”ti.
Puthujjanakaly±ºak±na½ s²la½ upasampadato paµµh±ya sudhotaj±timaºi viya suparikammakatasuvaººa½ viya ca atiparisuddhatt± cittupp±damattakenapi malena virahita½ arahattasseva padaµµh±na½ hoti, tasm± paripuººap±risuddh²ti vuccati, mah±saªgharakkhitabh±gineyyasaªgharakkhitatther±na½ viya.
Mah±saªgharakkhitatthera½ kira atikkantasaµµhivassa½ maraºamañce nipanna½ bhikkhusaªgho lokuttar±dhigama½ pucchi. Thero “natthi me lokuttaradhammo”ti ±ha. Athassa upaµµh±ko daharabhikkhu ±ha– “bhante, tumhe parinibbut±ti samant± dv±dasayojan± manuss± sannipatit±, tumh±ka½ puthujjanak±lakiriy±ya mah±janassa vippaµis±ro bhavissat²”ti. ¾vuso, aha½ “metteyya½ bhagavanta½ passiss±m²”ti na vipassana½ paµµhapesi½. Tena hi ma½ nis²d±petv± ok±sa½ karoh²ti. So thera½ nis²d±petv± bahi nikkhanto. Thero tassa saha nikkhaman±va arahatta½ patv± accharik±ya sañña½ ad±si. Saªgho sannipatitv± ±ha– “bhante, evar³pe maraºak±le lokuttaradhamma½ nibbattent± dukkara½ karitth±”ti. N±vuso eta½ dukkara½, apica vo dukkara½ ±cikkhiss±mi– “aha½, ±vuso, pabbajitak±lato paµµh±ya asatiy± aññ±ºapakata½ kamma½ n±ma na pass±m²”ti. Bh±gineyyopissa paññ±savassak±le evameva arahatta½ p±puº²ti.
“Appassutopi ce hoti, s²lesu asam±hito;
ubhayena na½ garahanti, s²lato ca sutena ca.
“Appassutopi ce hoti, s²lesu susam±hito;
s²lato na½ pasa½santi, tassa sampajjate suta½.
“Bahussutopi ce hoti, s²lesu asam±hito;
s²lato na½ garahanti, n±ssa sampajjate suta½.
“Bahussutopi ce hoti, s²lesu susam±hito;
ubhayena na½ pasa½santi, s²lato ca sutena ca.
“Bahussuta½ dhammadhara½, sappañña½ buddhas±vaka½;
nekkha½ jambonadasseva, ko ta½ ninditumarahati;
dev±pi na½ pasa½santi, brahmun±pi pasa½sito”ti. (A. ni. 4.6).
Sekkh±na½ pana s²la½ diµµhivasena apar±maµµhatt±, puthujjan±na½ v± pana r±gavasena apar±maµµhas²la½ apar±maµµhap±risuddh²ti veditabba½, kuµumbiyaputtatissattherassa s²la½ viya. So hi ±yasm± tath±r³pa½ s²la½ niss±ya arahatte patiµµh±tuk±mo verike ±ha–
“Ubho p±d±ni bhinditv±, saññapess±mi vo aha½;
aµµiy±mi har±y±mi, sar±gamaraºa½ ahan”ti.
“Ev±ha½ cintayitv±na, sammasitv±na yoniso;
sampatte aruºuggamhi, arahatta½ ap±puºin”ti. (D². ni. aµµha. 2.373).
Aññataropi mah±thero b±¼hagil±no sahatth± ±h±rampi paribhuñjitu½ asakkonto sake muttakar²se palipanno samparivattati, ta½ disv± aññataro daharo “aho dukkh± j²vitasaªkh±r±”ti ±ha. Tamena½ mah±thero ±ha– “aha½, ±vuso, id±ni miyyam±no saggasampatti½ labhiss±mi, natthi me ettha sa½sayo, ima½ pana s²la½ bhinditv± laddhasampatti n±ma sikkha½ paccakkh±ya paµiladdhagihibh±vasadis²”ti vatv± “s²leneva saddhi½ mariss±m²”ti tattheva nipanno tameva roga½ sammasanto arahatta½ patv± bhikkhusaªghassa im±hi g±th±hi by±k±si–
“Phuµµhassa me aññatarena by±dhin±,
rogena b±¼ha½ dukhitassa ruppato;
parisussati khippamida½ ka¼evara½,
puppha½ yath± pa½suni ±tape kata½.
“Ajañña½ jaññasaªkh±ta½, asuci½ sucisammata½;
n±n±kuºapaparip³ra½, jaññar³pa½ apassato.
“Dhiratthu ma½ ±tura½ p³tik±ya½, duggandhiya½ asuci by±dhidhamma½;
yatthappamatt± adhimucchit± paj±, h±penti magga½ sugat³papattiy±”ti.
Arahant±d²na½ pana s²la½ sabbadarathappaµippassaddhiy± parisuddhatt± paµippassaddhip±risuddh²ti veditabba½. Eva½ pariyantap±risuddhi-±divasena pañcavidha½.
