So hi yasm± tam±gamma sabbepi m±namadapurisamad±dayo mad± nimmad± amad± honti vinassanti, tasm± madanimmadanoti vuccati. Yasm± ca tam±gamma sabb±pi k±mapip±s± vinaya½ abbhattha½ y±ti, tasm± pip±savinayoti vuccati. Yasm± pana tam±gamma pañcak±maguº±lay± samuggh±ta½ gacchanti, tasm± ±layasamuggh±toti vuccati. Yasm± panesa catasso yoniyo pañca gatiyo satta viññ±ºaµµhitiyo nava ca satt±v±se apar±parabh±v±ya vinanato ±bandhanato sa½sibbanato v±nanti laddhavoh±r±ya taºh±ya nikkhanto nissaµo visa½yutto, tasm± nibb±nanti vuccat²ti.

Ye v± panaññepi bhagavat±– “asaªkhatañca vo, bhikkhave, desess±mi… saccañca… p±rañca… sududdasañca… ajarañca… dhuvañca… nippapañcañca… amatañca… sivañca… khemañca… abbhutañca… an²tikañca… aby±bajjhañca… visuddhiñca… d²pañca… t±ºañca leºañca vo, bhikkhave, desess±m²”ti-±d²su (sa½. ni. 4.366) suttesu upasamaguº± vutt±, tesampi vasena anussaritabboyeva.
Tasseva½ madanimmadanat±diguºavasena upasama½ anussarato neva tasmi½ samaye r±gapariyuµµhita½ citta½ hoti, na dosa… na mohapariyuµµhita½ citta½ hoti. Ujugatamevassa tasmi½ samaye citta½ hoti upasama½ ±rabbh±ti buddh±nussati-±d²su vuttanayeneva vikkhambhitan²varaºassa ekakkhaºe jh±naªg±ni uppajjanti. Upasamaguº±na½ pana gambh²rat±ya n±nappak±raguº±nussaraº±dhimuttat±ya v± appana½ appatv± upac±rappattameva jh±na½ hoti Tadetamupasamaguº±nussaraºavasena upasam±nussaticceva saªkhya½ gacchati.
Cha anussatiyo viya ca ayampi ariyas±vakasseva ijjhati, eva½ santepi upasamagarukena puthujjanen±pi manasi k±tabb±. Sutavasen±pi hi upasame citta½ pas²dati. Imañca pana upasam±nussati½ anuyutto bhikkhu sukha½ supati, sukha½ paµibujjhati, santindriyo hoti santam±naso hirottappasamann±gato p±s±diko paº²t±dhimuttiko sabrahmac±r²na½ garu ca bh±van²yo ca. Uttari appaµivijjhanto pana sugatipar±yano hoti.
Tasm± have appamatto, bh±vayetha vicakkhaºo;
eva½ anek±nisa½sa½, ariye upasame satinti.
