Bhagavati kira gaggar±ya pokkharaºiy± t²re camp±nagarav±s²na½ dhamma½ desiyam±ne eko maº¹³ko bhagavato sare nimitta½ aggahesi, ta½ eko vacchap±lako daº¹a½ olubbha tiµµhanto s²se sannirumbhitv± aµµh±si. So t±vadeva k±laªkatv± t±vati½sabhavane dv±dasayojanike kanakavim±ne nibbatti. Suttappabuddho viya ca tattha acchar±saªghaparivuta½ att±na½ disv± “are ahampi n±ma idha nibbatto, ki½ nu kho kammamak±sin”ti ±vajjento na añña½ kiñci addasa aññatra bhagavato sare nimittagg±h±. “Ko me vandati p±d±ni, iddhiy± yasas± jala½;
abhikkantena vaººena, sabb± obh±saya½ dis±”ti.

tava dhamma½ suºantassa, avadhi vacchap±lakoti.
Bhagav± tassa dhamma½ desesi. Catur±s²tiy± p±ºasahass±na½ dhamm±bhisamayo ahosi. Devaputtopi sot±pattiphale patiµµh±ya sita½ katv± pakkam²ti.
141. Ya½ pana kiñci atthi ñeyya½ n±ma, sabbasseva buddhatt± vimokkhantikaññ±ºavasena buddho. Yasm± v± catt±ri sacc±ni attan±pi bujjhi, aññepi satte bodhesi, tasm± evam±d²hipi k±raºehi buddho. Imassa ca panatthassa viññ±panattha½ “bujjhit± sacc±n²ti buddho. Bodhet± paj±y±ti buddho”ti eva½ pavatto sabbopi niddesanayo (mah±ni. 192) paµisambhid±nayo (paµi. ma. 1.162) v± vitth±retabbo.

Ida½ pana bhagav±ti n±ma½ nemittika½, na mah±m±y±ya, na suddhodanamah±r±jena, na as²tiy± ñ±tisahassehi kata½, na sakkasantusit±d²hi devat±visesehi. Vuttampi ceta½ dhammasen±patin± “bhagav±ti neta½ n±ma½ m±tar± kata½…pe… vimokkhantikameta½ buddh±na½ bhagavant±na½ bodhiy± m³le saha sabbaññutaññ±ºassa paµil±bh± sacchik± paññatti yadida½ bhagav±”ti (mah±ni. 84).

Yasm± ca esa dibbabrahma-ariyavih±re k±yacitta-upadhiviveke suññatappaºihit±nimittavimokkhe aññe ca lokiyalokuttare uttarimanussadhamme bhaji sevi bahula½ ak±si, tasm± bhattav±ti vattabbe bhagav±ti vuccati.
Yasm± pana t²su bhavesu taºh±saªkh±ta½ gamana½ anena vanta½, tasm± bhavesu vantagamanoti vattabbe bhavasaddato bhak±ra½ gamanasaddato gak±ra½ vantasaddato vak±rañca d²gha½ katv± ±d±ya bhagav±ti vuccati yath± loke mehanassa khassa m±l±ti vattabbe mekhal±ti.

Tasseva½ imin± ca imin± ca k±raºena so bhagav± araha½…pe… imin± ca imin± ca k±raºena bhagav±ti buddhaguºe anussarato neva tasmi½ samaye r±gapariyuµµhita½ citta½ hoti, na dosapariyuµµhita½, na mohapariyuµµhita½ citta½ hoti. Ujugatamevassa tasmi½ samaye citta½ hoti tath±gatam±rabbha (a. ni. 6.10). Iccassa eva½ r±g±dipariyuµµh±n±bh±vena vikkhambhitan²varaºassa kammaµµh±n±bhimukhat±ya ujugatacittassa buddhaguºapoº± vitakkavic±r± pavattanti. Buddhaguºe anuvitakkayato anuvic±rayato p²ti uppajjati. P²timanassa p²tipadaµµh±n±ya passaddhiy± k±yacittadarath± paµippassambhanti. Passaddhadarathassa k±yikampi cetasikampi sukha½ uppajjati. Sukhino buddhaguº±rammaºa½ hutv± citta½ sam±dhiyat²ti anukkamena ekakkhaºe jh±naªg±ni uppajjanti. Imañca pana buddh±nussati½ anuyutto bhikkhu satthari sag±ravo hoti sappatisso, saddh±vepulla½ sativepulla½ paññ±vepulla½ puññavepullañca adhigacchati, p²tip±mojjabahulo hoti, bhayabheravasaho dukkh±dhiv±sanasamattho, satth±r± sa½v±sasañña½ paµilabhati. Buddhaguº±nussatiy± ajjh±vutthañcassa sar²rampi cetiyagharamiva p³j±raha½ hoti. Buddhabh³miya½ citta½ namati.
