Evametesa½ pah±nakkamena avutt±nampi indriyavibhaªge pana indriy±na½ uddesakkameneva idh±pi vutt±na½ sukhadukkhasomanassadomanass±na½ pah±na½ veditabba½.
Yadi panet±ni tassa tassa jh±nassa upac±rakkhaºeyeva pah²yanti, atha kasm± “kattha cuppanna½ dukkhindriya½ aparisesa½ nirujjhati, idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu vivicceva k±mehipi…pe… paµhama½ jh±na½ upasampajja viharati. Ettha cuppanna½ dukkhindriya½ aparisesa½ nirujjhati. Anto-appan±ya½ pana p²tipharaºena sabbo k±yo sukhokkanto hoti, sukhokkantak±yassa ca suµµhu niruddha½ hoti dukkhindriya½, paµipakkhena vihatatt±. N±n±vajjaneyeva ca dutiyajjh±nupac±re pah²nassa domanassindriyassa yasm± eta½ vitakkavic±rapaccayepi k±yakilamathe cittupagh±te ca sati uppajjati. Vitakkavic±r±bh±ve ca neva uppajjati. Yattha pana uppajjati, tattha vitakkavic±rabh±ve, appah²n± eva ca dutiyajjh±nupac±re vitakkavic±r±ti tatthassa siy± uppatti, na tveva dutiyajjh±ne, pah²napaccayatt±. Tath± tatiyajjh±nupac±re pah²nass±pi sukhindriyassa p²tisamuµµh±napaº²tar³paphuµak±yassa siy± uppatti, na tveva tatiyajjh±ne. Tatiyajjh±ne hi sukhassa paccayabh³t± p²ti sabbaso niruddh±ti. Tath± catutthajjh±nupac±re pah²nass±pi somanassindriyassa ±sannatt± appan±ppatt±ya upekkh±ya abh±vena samm± anatikkantatt± ca siy± uppatti, na tveva catutthajjh±ne. Tasm± eva ca etthuppanna½ dukkhindriya½ aparisesa½ nirujjhat²ti tattha tattha aparisesaggahaºa½ katanti.
Etth±ha “atheva½ tassa tassa jh±nassupac±re pah²n±pi et± vedan± idha kasm± sam±haµ±”ti? Sukhaggahaºattha½. Y± hi aya½ adukkhamasukhanti ettha adukkhamasukh± vedan± vutt±, s± sukhum± duviññeyy± na sakk± sukhena gahetu½, tasm± yath± n±ma duµµhassa yath± v± tath± v± upasaªkamitv± gahetu½ asakkuºeyyassa goºassa sukhaggahaºattha½ gopo ekasmi½ vaje sabb± g±vo sam±harati, athekeka½ n²haranto paµip±µiy± ±gata½ “aya½ so gaºhatha nan”ti tampi g±hayati, evameva bhagav± sukhaggahaºattha½ sabb± et± sam±hari. Paccayagh±tena v± ettha r±gados±namatid³rabh±va½ dassetumpet± vutt±ti veditabb±. Et±su hi sukha½ somanassassa paccayo, somanassa½ r±gassa. Dukkha½ domanassassa paccayo, domanassa½ dosassa. Sukh±digh±tena cassa sappaccay± r±gados± hat±ti atid³re hont²ti.
Adukkhamasukhanti dukkh±bh±vena adukkha½. Sukh±bh±vena asukha½. Etenettha dukkhasukhapaµipakkhabh³ta½ tatiyavedana½ d²peti, na dukkhasukh±bh±vamatta½. Tatiyavedan± n±ma adukkhamasukh± upekkh±tipi vuccati. S± iµµh±niµµhavipar²t±nubhavanalakkhaº±, majjhattaras±, avibh³tapaccupaµµh±n±, sukhadukkhanirodhapadaµµh±n±ti veditabb±.
89. Upekkh±satip±risuddhinti upekkh±ya janitasatiy± p±risuddhi½. Imasmiñhi jh±ne suparisuddh± sati, y± ca tass± satiy± p±risuddhi, s± upekkh±ya kat±, na aññena. Tasm± eta½ “upekkh±satip±risuddhin”ti vuccati. Vibhaªgepi vutta½ “aya½ sati im±ya upekkh±ya visad± hoti parisuddh± pariyod±t±. Tena vuccati upekkh±satip±risuddh²”ti (vibha. 597). Y±ya ca upekkh±ya ettha satiy± p±risuddhi hoti, s± atthato tatramajjhattat±tiveditabb±. Na kevalañcettha t±ya satiyeva parisuddh±, apica kho sabbepi sampayuttadhamm±, satis²sena pana desan± vutt±.
Tattha kiñc±pi aya½ upekkh± heµµh±pi t²su jh±nesu vijjati. Yath± pana div± s³riyappabh±bhibhav± sommabh±vena ca attano upak±rakattena v± sabh±g±ya rattiy± al±bh± div± vijjam±n±pi candalekh± aparisuddh± hoti apariyod±t±, evamayampi tatramajjhattupekkh±candalekh± vitakk±dipaccan²kadhammatej±bhibhav± sabh±g±ya ca upekkh±vedan±rattiy± appaµil±bh± vijjam±n±pi paµham±dijjh±nabhedesu aparisuddh± hoti. Tass± ca aparisuddh±ya div± aparisuddhacandalekh±ya pabh± viya sahaj±t±pi sati-±dayo aparisuddh±va honti. Tasm± tesu ekampi “upekkh±satip±risuddhin”ti na vutta½. Idha pana vitakk±dipaccan²kadhammatej±bhibhav±bh±v± sabh±g±ya ca upekkh±vedan±rattiy± paµil±bh± aya½ tatramajjhattupekkh±candalekh± ativiya parisuddh±. Tass± parisuddhatt± parisuddhacandalekh±ya pabh± viya sahaj±t±pi sati-±dayo parisuddh± honti pariyod±t±. Tasm± idameva “upekkh±satip±risuddhin”ti vuttanti veditabba½.
Catutthanti gaºan±nupubbat± catuttha½. Ida½ catuttha½ sam±pajjat²tipi catuttha½. Ya½ pana vutta½ “ekaªgavippah²na½ duvaªgasamann±gatan”ti, tattha somanassassa pah±navasena ekaªgavippah²nat± veditabb±. Tañca pana somanassa½ ekav²thiya½ purimajavanesuyeva pah²yati. Tenassa ta½ pah±naªganti vuccati. Upekkh±vedan± cittassekaggat±ti imesa½ pana dvinna½ uppattivasena duvaªgasamann±gatat± veditabb±. Sesa½ paµhamajjh±ne vuttanayameva. Esa t±va catukkajjh±ne nayo.
