Cakkhun± r³pa½ disv±ti k±raºavasena cakkh³ti laddhavoh±rena r³padassanasamatthena cakkhuviññ±ºena r³pa½ disv±. Por±º± pan±hu “cakkhu r³pa½ na passati, acittakatt±, citta½ na passati, acakkhukatt±, dv±r±rammaºasaªghaµµe pana cakkhupas±davatthukena cittena passati. ¿dis² panes± ‘dhanun± vijjhat²’ti-±d²su viya sasambh±rakath± n±ma hoti, tasm± cakkhuviññ±ºena r³pa½ disv±ti ayamevettha attho”ti. Na nimittagg±h²ti itthipurisanimitta½ v± subhanimitt±dika½ v± kilesavatthubh³ta½ nimitta½ na gaºh±ti, diµµhamatteyeva saºµh±ti. N±nubyañjanagg±h²ti kiles±na½ anu-anubyañjanato p±kaµabh±vakaraºato anubyañjananti laddhavoh±ra½ hatthap±dasitahasitakathitavilokit±dibheda½ ±k±ra½ na gaºh±ti, ya½ tattha bh³ta½, tadeva gaºh±ti, cetiyapabbatav±s² mah±tissatthero viya.
Thera½ kira cetiyapabbat± anur±dhapura½ piº¹ac±ratth±ya ±gacchanta½ aññatar± kulasuºh± s±mikena saddhi½ bhaº¹itv± sumaº¹itapas±dhit± devakaññ± viya k±lasseva anur±dhapurato nikkhamitv± ñ±tighara½ gacchant² antar±magge disv± vipallatthacitt± mah±hasita½ hasi. Thero kimetanti olokento tass± dantaµµhike asubhasañña½ paµilabhitv± arahatta½ p±puºi. Tena vutta½–
“Tass± dantaµµhika½ disv±, pubbasañña½ anussari;
tattheva so µhito thero, arahatta½ ap±puº²”ti.
S±mikopi kho panass± anumagga½ gacchanto thera½ disv± “kiñci, bhante, itthi½ passath±”ti pucchi. Ta½ thero ±ha–
“N±bhij±n±mi itth² v±, puriso v± ito gato;
apica aµµhisaªgh±µo, gacchatesa mah±pathe”ti.
Yatv±dhikaraºamenanti-±dimhi ya½k±raº± yassa cakkhundriy±sa½varassa hetu eta½ puggala½ satikav±µena cakkhundriya½ asa½vuta½ apihitacakkhudv±ra½ hutv± viharanta½ ete abhijjh±dayo dhamm± anv±ssaveyyu½ anubandheyyu½. Tassa sa½var±ya paµipajjat²ti tassa cakkhundriyassa satikav±µena pidahanatth±ya paµipajjati. Eva½ paµipajjantoyeva ca rakkhati cakkhundriya½, cakkhundriye sa½vara½ ±pajjat²tipi vuccati. Tattha kiñc±pi cakkhundriye sa½varo v± asa½varo v± natthi. Na hi cakkhupas±da½ niss±ya sati v± muµµhasacca½ v± uppajjati. Apica yad± r³p±rammaºa½ cakkhussa ±p±tha½ ±gacchati, tad± bhavaªge dvikkhattu½ uppajjitv± niruddhe kiriyamanodh±tu ±vajjanakicca½ s±dhayam±n± uppajjitv± nirujjhati. Tato cakkhuviññ±ºa½ dassanakicca½. Tato vip±kamanodh±tu sampaµicchanakicca½. Tato vip±k±hetukamanoviññ±ºadh±tu sant²raºakicca½. Tato kiriy±hetukamanoviññ±ºadh±tu voµµhabbanakicca½ s±dhayam±n± uppajjitv± nirujjhati, tadanantara½ javana½ javati.
Tatr±pi neva bhavaªgasamaye, na ±vajjan±d²na½ aññatarasamaye sa½varo v± asa½varo v± atthi. Javanakkhaºe pana sace duss²lya½ v± muµµhasacca½ v± aññ±ºa½ v± akkhanti v± kosajja½ v± uppajjati, asa½varo hoti. Eva½ honto pana so cakkhundriye asa½varoti vuccati. Kasm±? Yasm± tasmi½ sati dv±rampi agutta½ hoti, bhavaªgampi ±vajjan±d²nipi v²thicitt±ni Yath± ki½? Yath± nagare cat³su dv±resu asa½vutesu kiñc±pi antogharadv±rakoµµhakagabbh±dayo susa½vut± honti, tath±pi antonagare sabba½ bhaº¹a½ arakkhita½ agopitameva hoti. Nagaradv±rena hi pavisitv± cor± yadicchanti, ta½ kareyyu½, evameva javane duss²ly±d²su uppannesu tasmi½ asa½vare sati dv±rampi agutta½ hoti, bhavaªgampi ±vajjan±d²nipi v²thicitt±ni.
Tasmi½ pana s²l±d²su uppannesu dv±rampi gutta½ hoti, bhavaªgampi ±vajjan±d²nipi v²thicitt±ni. Yath± ki½? Yath± nagaradv±resu sa½vutesu kiñc±pi antoghar±dayo asa½vut± honti, tath±pi antonagare sabba½ bhaº¹a½ surakkhita½ sugopitameva hoti. Nagaradv±resu hi pihitesu cor±na½ paveso natthi, evameva javane s²l±d²su uppannesu dv±rampi gutta½ hoti, bhavaªgampi ±vajjan±d²nipi v²thicitt±ni. Tasm± javanakkhaºe uppajjam±nopi cakkhundriye sa½varoti vutto.
Sotena sadda½ sutv±ti-±d²supi eseva nayo. Evamida½ saªkhepato r³p±d²su kiles±nubandhanimitt±digg±haparivajjanalakkhaºa½ indriyasa½varas²lanti veditabba½.
