55. Id±ni sabba½ bh±van±vidh±na½ aparih±pentena bh±vetabboti ettha aya½ pathav²kasiºa½ ±di½ katv± sabbakammaµµh±navasena vitth±rakath± hoti.
Eva½ upacchinnakhuddakapalibodhena hi bhikkhun± pacch±bhatta½ piº¹ap±tapaµikkantena bhattasammada½ paµivinodetv± pavivitte ok±se sukhanisinnena kat±ya v± akat±ya v± pathaviy± nimitta½ gaºhitabba½. Vuttañheta½–
“Pathav²kasiºa½ uggaºhanto pathaviya½ nimitta½ gaºh±ti kate v± akate v± s±ntake, no anantake, sakoµiye, no akoµiye, savaµµume, no avaµµume, sapariyante, no apariyante, suppamatte v± sar±vamatte v±. So ta½ nimitta½ suggahita½ karoti, s³padh±rita½ upadh±reti, suvavatthita½ vavatthapeti. Tasm± ±d±satale mukhanimittadassin± viya samen±k±rena cakkh³ni umm²letv± nimitta½ gaºhantena bh±vetabba½, na vaººo paccavekkhitabbo, na lakkhaºa½ manasik±tabba½. Apica vaººa½ amuñcitv± nissayasavaººa½ katv± ussadavasena paººattidhamme citta½ paµµhapetv± manasi k±tabba½. Pathav² mah², medin², bh³mi, vasudh±, vasundhar±ti-±d²su pathav²n±mesu yamicchati, yadassa saññ±nuk³la½ hoti, ta½ vattabba½. Duvidho hi sam±dhi upac±rasam±dhi ca appan±sam±dhi ca. Dv²h±k±rehi citta½ sam±dhiyati upac±rabh³miya½ v± paµil±bhabh³miya½ v±. Tattha upac±rabh³miya½ n²varaºappah±nena citta½ sam±hita½ hoti. Paµil±bhabh³miya½ aªgap±tubh±vena.
Dvinna½ pana sam±dh²na½ ida½ n±n±k±raºa½, upac±re aªg±ni na th±maj±t±ni honti, aªg±na½ ath±maj±tatt±, yath± n±ma daharo kum±rako ukkhipitv± µhapiyam±no punappuna½ bh³miya½ patati, evameva upac±re uppanne citta½ k±lena nimittam±rammaºa½ karoti, k±lena bhavaªgamotarati. Appan±ya½ pana aªg±ni th±maj±t±ni honti, tesa½ th±maj±tatt±, yath± n±ma balav± puriso ±san± vuµµh±ya divasampi tiµµheyya, evameva appan±sam±dhimhi uppanne citta½ saki½ bhavaªgav±ra½ chinditv± kevalampi ratti½ kevalampi divasa½ tiµµhati, kusalajavanapaµip±µivaseneva pavattat²ti.
Tatra yadeta½ upac±rasam±dhin± saddhi½ paµibh±ganimitta½ uppanna½, tassa upp±dana½ n±ma atidukkara½. Tasm± sace teneva pallaªkena ta½ nimitta½ va¹¹hetv± appana½ adhigantu½ sakkoti, sundara½. No ce sakkoti, ath±nena ta½ nimitta½ appamattena cakkavattigabbho viya rakkhitabba½. Evañhi–
